Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard
Chapter 1194: Maybe They’re Just Tired_2
Chapter 1194 -834: Maybe They’re Just Tired_2
No screams, several people fell to the ground, as if they were asleep.
The alley returned to silence again.
A few minutes later, Kael emerged with a bag, ready to leave Knockturn Alley.
He originally thought Hokuriken truly had a Black Dragon Egg, which is why he followed. Turns out, it was just an excuse to lure him here.
But upon reflection, it made sense. For centuries, Black Dragons have been in the Hesidiri Islands, never heard of anywhere else. Just relying on these few people, it’s doubtful they have the capability to bring out a Dragon Egg.
Although he long suspected this would be the outcome, Kael still felt a bit disappointed.
He maneuvered around a patch of strangely colored mud ahead, heading towards the mouth of the alley.
At the same time, a figure hurriedly came towards him.
Though the person wore a black cloak, Kael instantly recognized his identity.
Dumbledore… of course, the younger Dumbledore.
When Kael arrived here, he was taking final exams. Subsequently, he spent a long time in Diagon Alley. Judging by time, Hogwarts seemed to have already been on vacation.
As Kael looked over, the person also noticed him.
“Oh, you’re the… sixth-year Hufflepuff.” Dumbledore was somewhat surprised, with a hint of nervousness, “Appearing in Knockturn Alley at this time, run into any trouble?”
“No,” Kael shook his head, “I just wanted to go to Gringotts and accidentally wandered here.”
“At this time, Gringotts is likely closed.”
“Yes, I just came out when they shut the doors,” Kael said.
“That’s good, but you’d better leave quickly. This is no good place,” Dumbledore appeared somewhat distracted, and seemed to deliberately avoid Kael’s eyes.
Unintentionally, he noticed a few people lying in the alley not far behind, “What’s up with them…”
“No idea, maybe they got tired,” Kael glanced back, “I noticed them earlier, but didn’t dare go closer.”
“You’re right,” Dumbledore said. He seemed to think wizards sleeping on the roadside in Knockturn Alley was a normal thing, and didn’t mind.
“Do you need any help?” Kael asked warmly.
“No need, I’m just here to buy a few things,” Dumbledore shook his head, his tone growing urgent, “At this time, legitimate shops are closed, so I’m only here to try my luck.”
Kael noticed his hand subconsciously moved towards his pocket, a position from which he could quickly draw his wand.
Something he didn’t want Kael to know?
“In that case, I wish you luck,” Kael did not inquire further.
Dumbledore sighed with relief, nodded, and brushed past Kael, heading deeper into Knockturn Alley.
Kael, meanwhile, continued towards the mouth of the alley without turning back out of curiosity, returning all the way to Diagon Alley.
The once dim streets were now more evidently lit, coming from a Magic Items Shop.
Kael had previously visited this store, selling items with special functions, such as Dung Stones to remove toxins and crystals to dispel Dark Magic curses.
But Kael remembered, when he went to Knockturn Alley, this place was clearly closed, yet now suddenly opened.
The shop owner was yawning while preparing to shut the door again. As Kael approached, he overheard him grumbling softly, “Bothersome brats… knocking at night… buying nothing…”
But noticing Kael, his expression immediately changed from impatience to delight.
“Oh, sir, so pleased to see you,” he cheerfully opened the door, “Need any help?”
Since Kael never mentioned his name when buying things, shop owners usually referred to him as ‘this gentleman.’
“Just browsing,” Kael said as he entered the shop, casually picking up a piece of blue crystal.
“That’s a Sound Storage Stone; it stores sounds, can auto-play with just a bit of Magic Power.”
“Nice, I’ll take it,” Kael casually placed it on the counter, naturally asking, “Strangely, I remember earlier it was closed when I came, do you have nighttime hours?”
“Not at all,” the shopkeeper smiled, “Actually, I was ready to rest. However, a student came earlier, probably from Hogwarts, rudely knocked wanting to buy something.”
“Oh, what did he buy?” Kael asked curiously.
“Bought nothing,” the shopkeeper said with some anger, “He just took a round then left, saying there wasn’t anything he needed.”
“Funny, everyone in Diagon Alley knows my stock here is most complete, even with protective amulets resisting the Killing Curse.”
The shopkeeper inadvertently glanced at a necklace placed in the most visible position, “Want one? It’s a life-saving item, only fifty Galleons, anyone who used it never said anything bad about it… now just one left.”
Kael took a look, then lost interest.
That was clearly just an item with a Repelling Spell, at most it could scare off weak Dark Creatures like Red Caps and Kappas, but against the Killing Curse, not helpful in the least.
As for whether anyone had been fooled… well, once they found out they’d been tricked, they’d likely have no chance to confront the shopkeeper.
