His Wild Omega

Chapter 3: My Own Rules

  • Next Chapter

The matte black car pulled over into a cobbled path, circling a large fountain before stopping.

Bodyguards rushed over, opening either side of the car. Selene settled her bare feet on the ground. She stepped out and reached her gaze over to the large manor, stacking by more than 4 floors.

They had driven from her pack to Halcyon’s pack, crossing the border that separated the two packs.

"What are you standing there for?" Dante questioned coldly, asking from over the other side of the car.

She looked at him.

"I didn’t intend to stand here forever."

She moved over, looked him up and down, and walked past him. She approached the entrance of the manor, where more than sixty staff stood, swathed in each their respective working uniforms.

They were bowed at the waist.

She made her way into the building. And as expected, it was nothing short of luxury. Red carpeted stairs, wide and long, to expand into the second floor. A massive chandelier, nearly encompassing the ceiling, hung off, bright and lit.

"Dante! Dante, is that you?"

The voice of a woman chimed as the sounds of footsteps resounded from the second floor.

Selene lifted her gaze. She eyed the stairs, eyes falling on a young woman as she descended. Hair white like snow itself, showering down her back, almost to her bottom. Like the ocean, her eyes were blue.

She was beautiful. A regular omega.

And without needing to ask, she could tell...this was Dante’s rumored mate.

The woman took her last step to stand face-to-face with Selene. And with pitch-black bottom-length hair and a pair of beautiful black eyes, Selene gazed back.

Both women assessed each other.

"And who are you?" the young woman questioned. A large frown formed on her face.

"Ask him." Selene pointed over her shoulder at Dante, who was only just approaching.

Dante walked past her, and she watched as he grabbed the lady by the waist, tilting her just a little to kiss her jawline.

"Dante, who is she?" the woman asked.

Dante glanced at Selene. "Her... She’s a trust treaty."

"A trust treaty?"

"I told you. Have you forgotten—"

"Just tell her," Selene interrupted. She stepped closer to the both of them and reached out a hand for a handshake. "I am his substitute wife. At least for the next one month. You may call me Selene."

"Wife?" The woman ignored her extended hand and looked at Dante. "Dante, you really did get married...?"

Dante rubbed his temple. "I did tell you. This is for the peace of both packs. Don’t worry, in the span of one month, she will return to her father."

"He’s right," Selene chimed in again. "You have nothing to worry about. There’s nothing between him and me. You two can still be lovebirds as you are. I won’t get in your way at all."

The woman scrutinized her again. "You’re a wild Omega," she said as if reminding her to know her place.

"I am." Selene shrugged.

Unlike regular omegas with soft pheromones and scents, wild omegas often had offensive pheromones, completely rejected by alphas. Their scent was not soft either, but rather fierce.

Understanding this, the woman seemed to take a secretive sigh of relief. There was nothing to worry about. Despite Selene’s equal jaw-dropping beauty, Dante could never be attracted to her, not a Wild Omega like her.

"What is your name?" Selene asked.

The woman raised a haughty brow. "You can call me Meris."

Selene nodded. She parted her lips to speak, but Dante, however, ushered a staff over.

"Alpha?" The staff bowed at the waist.

"Show her to her room on the first floor," he ordered.

The staff nodded. She gestured away with a smile. "Please come with me, madam."

Selene followed the staff, however, they had only taken a few steps when she heard Dante speak.

"Now for my own rule."

She paused, turned her head, and glanced at him over her shoulder. "Which is?"

"You have no access to the second floor and the rest of this manor’s floor. If you cross any of it, breaking this rule, there will be consequences."

Selene looked him up and down. She scoffed under her breath, following behind the staff.

They arrived at the door of her designated room and stopped. The staff opened the door and gestured inside.

"You may go in, Madam."

She stepped into the room. She looked around, and the expression in her eyes awful.

She said to the staff, "What is the meaning of this?"

"Madam?"

She felt insulted.

The room was no different from a storage room. Her bed was nothing but a floor mattress. And there was barely any property inside, except the closet that held clothes he’d apparently shopped for her. There was no windows either.

No windows!

"Surely, this couldn’t be where I have to sleep, right?" she asked.

The staff gave an awkward smile.

"I’m sorry, Madam, but this is the room that has been assigned to you. There is really nothing I can do."

"I see." Selene smiled. "You may go.""

"Alright, Madam." The staff turned to leave.

But she stopped her. "Actually wait."

"Yes, Madam? Is there anything I can help you with?"

"Hm." She asked, "Dante’s bedroom... Where is it?"
