His Wild Omega

Chapter 2: Bye Bye, Papa!

"Selen!" Mr. Tobias snapped. "You agreed. This—"

The metallic sound of something popping drew all the attention within the room. He looked over, and the cause instantly made anger crawl up his spine.

"MR. BARIS! Do not point a gun at my daughter!" he warned.

The cold metal of Dante’s pistol pressed harder against Selene’s temple, threatening her. "Say, I do."

"Mr. Baris, put the gun down!" Mr. Tobias warned. "NOW."

Dante tipped his head over. He cocked a brow. "Mr. Tobias, she isn’t what I expected. I was more than sure that your oldest daughter would be what I’d see here today. Yet, you substituted her with this Wild Omega."

"And this Wild Omega is also my daughter!" Mr. Tobias retorted. "They are both my daughter. A substitute bride or not, does it matter? In the end you hold one of my daughter and so, I have not breached our deal in any way at all."

Dante dangerously narrowed his eyes, warning, "The last thing I need is a headache and she’s clearly one. I didn’t ask for this, but since you so badly wish to substitute your oldest daughter with this, then there is nothing I can do. You indeed haven’t breached the deal. However, if she does not behave, I will have no choice but to make her."

Mr. Tobias’s pitch-black eyes shifted, morphing into a greenish color. He said, "I will remind you again, Mr. Baris, that I am not selling my daughter to you. She will go with you, and you will return her back to me, safe and unharmed. Now, if anything happens to her, you will answer to me, Baris. And I am sure you’re a wise man who will not endanger the lives of the people of your pack because of ego. Or, are you?"

Dante shifted his gaze back to Selene.

She stood with arms folded. Not a tinge of fear was in her eyes. In fact, she watched him with amusement, lips curled at the edge. It was as if she knew down to her bones, he’d never dare put a bullet through her head.

She was confident.

And so, lifting a hand, she tipped the metallic mouth of the pistol away from her temple. "Pointing a gun at your soon-to-be wife? That’s not very gentlemanly, Dante."

His forehead twitched at the sound of his name roiling off her tongue.

She took steps towards him until there was barely an inch of distance between them.

He stared down at her. And with her head tilted back, she equally met his gaze.

"Before I say I do or sign those documents, there are few rules I have."

"Rules? For me?" Dante cocked up a brow, bemused. "Which are?"

"We will not be sharing the same room. I will have my own room. If anyone dares to bully me in your pack, I will fight back and you won’t do or a say a thing about it. Last but not least, your pheromones, you will keep them in check around me. Just because I can resist doesn’t mean I want to go through the trouble. I’ll like my days peaceful, doing nothing but slacking off, until I can return to my father and pack. Do we agree?"

He watched her quietly for a few short seconds. Then ever so slowly, his lips arched, a cruel smile. His eyes were emotionless, but he in fact still held that smile.

Oh, he hated her already. She could tell.

"Deal," he agreed.

Selene reached for the paper works. She signed first, putting down her signature. He did the same before they exchanged rings.

"You are now married to each other," the priest said. "And as the contract states, the marriage ends in one month. Either party cannot breach this deal, but if to occur, the harmed party has the right to and may require compensation of their own term."

Mr. Tobias chimed in, "I hope you will honor our deal, Mr. Baris."

Dante glanced at him. He turned and began to walk away towards the exit of the chapel. "Follow me," he referred to Selene.

Selene only gave her father a look before she walked past him, following after the man who walked in large strides.

However, they had only arrived at the door when Dante pulled to a stop.

He turned, lowered his gaze to her feet, and an expression of disgust emerged in his eyes.

"Put on some shoes."

Selene retorted, "Take yours off and give them to me. My dear father wasn’t kind enough to put some shoes on me after he knocked me out. Did you know I was knocked out and brought here against my will?"

"Selene!" Mr. Tobias called out, embarrassment on his face.

"Put some shoes on me next time, Papa."

Dante watched. His face was squeezed into a cold frown. She irritated him.

Even the sound of her voice caused a wave of disdain to travel across his body.

He looked away from her. He wanted to continue out of the chapel, but as if having changed his mind, he turned back, stalked towards her, and grabbed her.

Selene looked him up and down. "What are you trying to do—"

He gripped her by the bicep. His free arm slung around the back of her knees, and he lifted her off the ground with ease, throwing her over his shoulder.

"The next time we speak, Mr. Tobias will be when you need this daughter of yours returned. One month from now."

Selene, who was slung over his shoulder, chuckled as she bounced with his walking movement.

Mr. Tobias stared after them. A look of worry was on his face.

His poor daughter, on the other hand, laughed even harder as she was carried out like a sack of potatoes, uncaring.

She waved toward him.

"Bye bye, Papa!! I’ll see you in a month!"

Mr. Tobias sighed. He glanced toward the beta bodyguard standing next to him. "Do you think she’ll be fine?"

The bodyguard smiled awkwardly. "Pro...probably. If she survives, that is."
