"Here, sir!"

"Take the Vanguard Camp and fifty Goliath Battle Armors. Force a breakthrough three kilometers deep and tear this swamp apart! I want every last one of those cowards flushed out of hiding!"

"Yes, sir!"

With his orders received, Gu Jian let out an excited roar. He personally piloted a command-type Mecha, leading his steel legion headfirst into the green mist.

The Mechas’ searchlights could only cut through a few meters of the miasma. Their tracks rumbled dully as they ground through the mud.

Everything was eerily quiet.

Suddenly, the ground gave way beneath the lead Goliath Mecha. Its massive, ten-meter-tall frame lurched, sinking halfway into quicksand.

"Unit One is under attack!"

The pilot had barely cried out the warning when a chorus of sharp whistles, WHOOSH, echoed from all directions.

Countless blowdarts and bone spears, all coated in a ghastly green Poisonous Liquid, erupted from the miasma like a rainstorm, striking the Mechas’ joints and viewports with deadly precision.

More unnervingly, the alarms on several soldiers’ Battle Armor suddenly blared. They glanced down.

Somehow, several brightly-colored venomous snakes had coiled around their legs, their fangs piercing the weaker seams of the combat suits.

The soldiers didn’t even have time to scream before their bodies rapidly dissolved into pools of black liquid.

"Steady! Full-scale suppressive fire!"

Gu Jian bellowed, and the six-barreled rotary Spiritual Energy Cannon on his Mecha’s shoulder roared to life, shredding the surrounding jungle to pieces.

However, the enemy refused to engage them in a direct confrontation.

Ambushes, poison, traps—then they would vanish back into the miasma.

The Vanguard Corps was like a bull in a china shop, its immense power useless as the agile Snake Lizard People subjected them to a constant Bloodletting.

"Major General, the enemy is too cunning! We’re bogged down!" Gu Jian’s voice was tinged with frustration.

Ye Jinghong, who had been seated on his throne on the command bridge, finally rose to his feet.

He slowly closed his eyes.

VMMMM!

A halo of pale golden light emanated from the transport ship, instantly expanding to envelop the entire battlefield.

Military Soul Divine Realm, activated.

"Military Decree: Solid Wall!"

Ye Jinghong’s lips parted, and he uttered the ice-cold words.

Within the Divine Realm, a heavy golden glow instantly flared to life on the "Red Scale" Battle Armor of every Vanguard Army soldier. The strength of their Spiritual Energy Shields doubled out of nowhere.

The poisoned darts struck the shields, failing to create even the slightest ripple.

"Decree: Sharpness!"

A similar golden gleam coated everyone’s "Dragon’s Fang" rifles and "Po Mountain" Battle Sabers.

A soldier instinctively fired a burst from his rifle at a giant tree, one so thick it would take three people to encircle. The Spiritual Energy Bullets tore through it effortlessly, leaving the cut surface as smooth as a mirror.

"We’re protected by Divine Power! Kill!"

The tide of battle turned in an instant.

Empowered by the Divine Power, the soldiers of the Vanguard Corps no longer feared ambushes.

They formed into Battle Arrays and advanced step by step.

Any Snake Lizard People who leaped from the miasma were instantly shredded by the sharper, more powerful firepower.

"A bunch of skulking insects!"

Gu Jian laughed, brandishing his Mecha’s Titan Alloy Chainsaw Sword to slash a thicket hiding enemies—and the dozen or so Snake Lizard People inside—into a bloody pulp.

However, floating high above, Han Feng’s brow furrowed.

’Something’s not right.’

’These Snake Lizard People are charging forward without any fear of death. It’s less like they’re fighting and more like... they’re stalling for time?’

He pushed his [Eye of Insight] to maximum power. His vision pierced through the heart of the battlefield, extending toward the rear of the human forces.

There, thirty-six red dots, each radiating Tier Three Peak energy fluctuations, were using the light of the Divine Realm as cover.

Like phantoms, they moved silently, tunneling underground to flank the rear of the fleet.

Their targets were the heavy artillery emplacements responsible for fire support, and... the "Celestial Whale" transport ship floating in the sky!

"Ye Jinghong, watch your rear! Thirty-six elite assassins are attacking your base!" Han Feng’s voice exploded over the comms channel.

Ye Jinghong’s pupils contracted.

At almost the same instant, a piercing siren shrieked from the bridge’s alarm system.

"Warning! High-level Energy Attack detected beneath the hull!"

BOOM!

The entire "Celestial Whale" transport ship shuddered violently. A large hole had been corroded through the Spiritual Energy Shield on its underside by some unknown force.

Through the viewports, thirty-six slender, elite Snake Lizard People could be seen. They had somehow attached themselves to the ship’s outer hull.

Their claws, like red-hot branding irons, easily melted through the thick Armor.

The one leading them, a female Snake Lizard Person, held a ghastly white Magic Staff made of beast bone and was aiming it directly at the bridge.

Phantom Guards!

"You’re courting death!" Ye Jinghong erupted in fury.

He never imagined that by activating his Divine Realm, he had inadvertently provided the enemy’s top assassins with the perfect cover.

Just as he was about to intervene personally, a cold and merciless presence enveloped the entire battlefield.

"Invaders... offer up your souls..."

The voice did not travel through the air, but instead resounded directly in everyone’s mind.

In an instant, the toxic miasma of the Cyan Miasma Swamp grew even thicker. Even Ye Jinghong’s Golden Divine Realm began to corrode, emitting a SIZZLING sound.

In the center of the swamp, the deepest stretch of mire began to churn violently.

Three enormous and monstrous serpentine heads slowly rose from the muddy water.

One head spewed a black Poisonous Liquid capable of melting rock.

The second head’s eyes flashed with a bizarre red light; all soldiers who met its gaze instantly lost focus in their own eyes and turned to attack the comrades beside them.

And the centermost head stared impassively at the "Celestial Whale" transport ship in the sky—or rather, at Ye Jinghong on the bridge inside.

The Tier Four Late Stage Totem Divine, the Three-Headed Illusory Yin Snake·Hiss, had finally bared its fangs.
