The question was whether he could do it.

The Tiger-shaped Beast King’s rules were far more stable than his. Destroying them in an instant was almost impossible. But he didn’t need to destroy them completely; breaking the most crucial ones would be enough. The rules maintaining the attack, the rules guiding the energy, and the rules locking onto the target. As long as these rules were broken, the power of this strike would be greatly reduced.

The Tiger-shaped Beast King finally finished gathering its power. It let out an earth-shattering roar, its entire body transforming into a streak of dark red light as it pounced at Xu Wuyi. Its speed transcended the limits of space, moving so fast it was impossible to see clearly. Ren Bai only saw a flash of red light before the Tiger-shaped Beast King had already reached Xu Wuyi.

Then, he saw that spear thrust.

The spear Xu Wuyi thrust out landed precisely on the exact center of the Tiger-shaped Beast King’s forehead.

In that instant, the entire space fell silent. All sound disappeared, all light vanished, and all energy fluctuations ceased. Only that spear remained, along with the collision of rules it triggered.

The Tiger-shaped Beast King felt the very rules it relied on for survival being completely shaken in that moment. The rule maintaining its attack was broken, and the terrifying power it had gathered began to spiral out of control. The rule guiding the energy was broken, causing the energy to backlash against its own body. The rule locking onto the target was broken, leaving it completely unable to even sense where Xu Wuyi was.

It let out a shrill, agonized roar as its entire body abruptly exploded. The dark red energy gushed out from its body, turning into countless violent turbulent currents that frantically spread in all directions. Wherever those turbulent currents reached, the spatial barriers began to twist and the energy crystals shattered; everything descended into utter chaos.

Xu Wuyi stood in place, letting the turbulent currents sweep past him. The Power of Order formed an invisible barrier over his skin, completely isolating those currents on the outside. He looked at the collapsing Tiger-shaped Beast King before him and slowly retracted his spear.

He had used all of his strength in that thrust. The Heart of Order had nearly depleted all of its power. At this moment, it was dim and lusterless within his sea of consciousness, its rotational speed having become extremely slow.

The Beast King had now completely lost its previous imposing aura. Its massive body trembled violently in mid-air. Its pitch-black scales were covered in cracks, and dark red blood seeped from them, dripping down into the churning sea of energy below with a sizzling HISS. It let out a low roar, but there was none of its previous ferocity left—only pain and reluctance.

It wanted to move, but it couldn’t.

Xu Wuyi’s spear thrust had broken its rules for maintaining the attack, guiding energy, and locking onto the target. Those rules were the foundation of its strike. Once the foundation was destroyed, the terrifying power it had gathered immediately spiraled out of control and began to backlash against its own body. Now, those out-of-control energies were rampaging everywhere inside it, tearing its flesh, destroying its bones and sinews, and incinerating its internal organs.

That kind of pain was more intense than any physical attack.

But it was, after all, a Beast King that had ruled this territory for centuries, a true powerhouse standing at the very top of the Star Beast pyramid. Even after suffering such severe injuries, it still hadn’t given up its survival instinct. It used the last of its strength to control its battered body and retreat.

As long as it retreated into the depths of the Star Realm, back to its lair, it would have a chance to survive. The environment there was suitable for a Star Beast’s survival, and the energy there could nourish its wounds. As long as it was given enough time, it could slowly recover.

It stared at Xu Wuyi, a trace of venomous resentment flashing through its scarlet eyes. It would remember this person—this damned human, this human who had mastered such bizarre rules. Once it recovered, it would definitely find a way to take revenge. Even if it couldn’t beat him, it would find an opportunity to kill a few weak humans to vent its anger.

It continued to retreat, getting closer and closer to that dark rift.

Xu Wuyi watched it retreat, but he didn’t move. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to move; he truly couldn’t. That spear thrust just now had consumed too much. He couldn’t use his Heart Image again in the short term, so he could only watch helplessly as the Beast King retreated further away.

But right at this moment, a white figure swept past him.

It was Ren Bai.

The Grandmaster, clad in a tattered white robe, had finally made his move. His actions weren’t fast, but every step he took was incredibly steady, carrying an indescribable rhythm.

Watching him, a wondrous feeling welled up in Xu Wuyi’s heart. Ren Bai’s injuries were indeed not severe; he had noticed this earlier. Although the consumption had been immense and he had been trapped here for two months, Ren Bai’s origin had not been damaged, and his core combat strength remained.

Now, he was finally about to strike.

Ren Bai walked step by step toward the retreating Beast King. His footsteps were very light, so light they made almost no sound. Yet, with every step that fell, the surrounding space would faintly tremble, as if something was being awakened.

The Tiger-shaped Beast King sensed the danger. It stopped its retreat, raising its head to look at the white figure walking toward it. This person had been in a standoff with it here for two months, neither able to do anything to the other.

But now, the feeling this person gave it was completely different.

The previous Ren Bai felt like a sheathed sword—sharp, yet restrained.

The current Ren Bai felt like a sword already drawn from its scabbard. The glint on its blade made the beast instinctively feel fear.
