Chapter 724: Chapter 696: Shadow Sword Technique

It wanted to control its body, but it couldn’t. The set of Rules governing its physical movements was now in complete chaos. Any instruction it issued failed to reach its body parts accurately; any command was twisted into something entirely different by the scrambled signals.

This state lasted for only a split second.

Then, the Ape-shaped Beast King’s body jolted violently.

An indescribable fear flashed through its crimson eyes. It was the first time it had felt fear since becoming a Beast King. This wasn’t due to a disparity in strength or the sheer power of its opponent. It was because it realized that everything it relied on for survival was no longer reliable in the face of this human.

It let out a shrill roar, its massive body tumbling backward in a desperate attempt to put distance between itself and Xu Wuyi. It didn’t want to fight anymore; it just wanted to leave and get as far away from this bizarre human as possible.

But Xu Wuyi wouldn’t give it the chance.

He stepped forward and thrust his spear again.

This time, it was Blood Breaking.

The moment the spear tip pierced the Ape-shaped Beast King’s body, the Power of Order condensed into invisible chains, instantly locking down all the pathways for Qi and Blood circulation within it. Although Star Beasts didn’t understand Martial Arts, their physical exertion also relied on blood circulation, which contained astonishing power. Xu Wuyi’s Blood Breaking was not only effective at suppressing Martial Artists; it was equally lethal against Star Beasts.

The Ape-shaped Beast King’s body stiffened abruptly. This sensation was even more terrifying than the previous chaos. Chaos merely prevented it from accurately controlling its body, but at least its Qi and Blood were still flowing and its strength was still surging. Now, with its Qi and Blood circulation completely sealed, it felt all the power within its body rapidly fading away.

It wanted to struggle and fight back, but it couldn’t. Without the support of its Qi and Blood, its enormous body became incredibly heavy. Even twitching a finger was difficult. It could only hover in midair, watching helplessly as Xu Wuyi raised his spear once more.

The third thrust.

Breaking Skill.

The instant this strike connected, the Ape-shaped Beast King felt its consciousness completely isolated by something. It could no longer sense its surroundings, the presence of the Tiger-shaped Beast King, or the Energy Turbulence in this space. It was trapped in a world of absolute darkness where it could see nothing, hear nothing, and feel nothing.

That sense of isolation and dread was more horrifying than any physical attack. The Ape-shaped Beast King opened its mouth to roar, but no sound came out. It swung its arms to struggle, but its limbs simply refused to obey.

It hovered there in midair like a soulless, hollow shell. Then, its body shattered into pieces until it completely disintegrated.

Three thrusts.

From the first strike to the end, less than five seconds had passed. A Beast King was utterly destroyed just like that.

Standing in the distance, the Tiger-shaped Beast King watched the scene unfold, fear surfacing in its crimson eyes for the very first time. It was stronger than the Ape-shaped Beast King and had a sharper perception of the Rules. Because of this, it had a much clearer understanding of what those three spear strikes truly meant.

It wasn’t a suppression of strength, but a suppression of the Rules themselves.

This newly arrived human possessed a set of Rules it had never seen before. It was so bizarre that the beast had no idea how to counter it.

It had seen the Ape-shaped Beast King’s reaction after taking the first thrust. It had witnessed that state of chaos before. Some Grandmasters who excelled at Spiritual Attacks could also plunge their enemies into confusion. However, that kind of chaos targeted the spirit; as long as one guarded their inner mind, they could slowly break free.

But the Ape-shaped Beast King’s chaos wasn’t on a spiritual level. Every Rule governing its existence had been thrown into disarray—its Qi and Blood, its consciousness, its perception, and even the fundamental Rules maintaining its physical form. All of it was scrambled.

There was simply no solution to this kind of chaos. That was because the attack didn’t target one specific Rule, but rather the essence of the Rules themselves.

The Tiger-shaped Beast King stared at Xu Wuyi, a low growl rumbling in its throat. The roar carried a warning, as well as a trace of thinly veiled apprehension.

But it did not retreat.

The Star Realm behind it was its territory, a place it had ruled for over a century. It couldn’t possibly abandon this domain just because of a newcomer.

It took a deep breath as the aura around its body began to surge wildly. The dark red Energy Turbulence, drawn by its aura, gathered around it. The turbulent currents coiled around its body and merged into its pitch-black scales, causing its entire form to emit a cold, eerie glow.

It was going to fight for its life.

Sitting on a floating Energy Crystal, Ren Bai watched all of this unfold, an indescribable gleam flashing in his eyes.

He had watched Xu Wuyi execute his spear strikes. Three thrusts, less than ten seconds, and a Beast King had completely lost its combat capability.

He knew Xu Wuyi had advanced to become a Grandmaster, but he never expected his comprehension and application of the Rules to reach such a profound level. Each of those three strikes contained applications of the Rules that Ren Bai had never seen before. The first thrust disrupted all Order within the enemy, the second sealed the circulation of Qi and Blood, and the third sealed their Spiritual Power. When combined, these three strikes would push almost any opponent to the brink of despair.

A little over a year ago, this young man was merely an Innate Martial Artist who had come to him for advice on the Rules. Now, he had grown to the point where he could face off against a Beast King on his own.

Meanwhile, the Tiger-shaped Beast King was frantically gathering its strength. It intended to engage Xu Wuyi in a fight to the death using the most ferocious methods at its disposal.
