Heretic Trainer: The Gym Is My Cultivation Method
Chapter 807: The Man Who Outlasted a Miracle
As Tharion’s body disappeared beneath the golden light, the remaining nine candidates began reassessing their opponents.
The first elimination had demonstrated something important.
Even someone possessing extraordinary strength could fall if several candidates decided to attack simultaneously.
However, not everyone was particularly concerned about that possibility.
Garion was currently exchanging powerful punches with Azrakar, seemingly enjoying himself.
BANG!
Their fists collided, creating another tremendous shockwave.
Garion grinned. "Hehehe! Not bad, big guy. Your punches are getting heavier."
Azrakar chuckled before swinging his enormous arm. "And you’re getting increasingly annoying."
Garion ducked and delivered a sharp uppercut into the demon’s jaw.
BAAANG!
Azrakar staggered backward before bursting into laughter.
Meanwhile, several kilometers away, Lumielle stood quietly near the edge of the battlefield.
The beautiful woman wore an elegant white dress decorated with silver patterns.
Her long platinum-blonde hair flowed gently behind her, while a faint, soothing radiance surrounded her slender body.
Compared to the other candidates, her divine presence appeared remarkably gentle.
Unfortunately, that made her seem like an easy target.
Veyron had already noticed her.
The green-eyed man slowly approached, his expression filled with curiosity. "You’re Lumielle, correct? The tenth-ranked candidate?"
Lumielle turned toward him before nodding politely. "That’s right. And you’re Veyron."
He smiled faintly. "Indeed. I’ve been observing everyone since the trial began."
Lumielle glanced toward the distant battles. "Then you’ve probably noticed that I’m not particularly interested in fighting."
Veyron stopped several meters away. "Unfortunately, avoiding combat won’t help you win."
Lumielle smiled helplessly. "I suppose you’re right."
Without further warning, Veyron disappeared from his position.
His fist appeared directly before Lumielle’s face.
However, just before the attack connected, a tiny fragment of shattered stone suddenly flew between them.
Veyron’s fist struck the fragment instead.
CRACK!
The stone shattered, slightly altering the direction of his punch.
Lumielle calmly stepped backward.
Veyron narrowed his eyes.
"Coincidence?"
He immediately launched another attack, delivering several consecutive strikes toward her chest and shoulders.
Lumielle raised her hands defensively, but her movements were clearly inferior to his.
Nevertheless, every attack encountered some unexpected obstruction.
A loose fragment shifted beneath his foot.
A distant shockwave disrupted his balance.
Even the surrounding divine energy seemed to interfere at precisely the right moments.
Veyron eventually managed to strike her shoulder.
BANG!
Lumielle stumbled backward, a painful expression appearing on her face.
However, a soft silver light immediately enveloped the injured area.
Within moments, her shoulder had completely recovered.
Veyron stopped attacking. "Interesting. Your physique possesses both extraordinary restoration and probability manipulation."
Lumielle gently rubbed her shoulder. "I prefer calling them miracles."
Veyron smiled. "Then let’s see how many miracles you can perform."
He suddenly accelerated.
[Adaptive Evolution Physique!]
Faint green markings appeared across his arms as his movements became noticeably more precise.
Unlike the artificial enhancements granted by his former system, this adaptation came directly from his cultivated physique.
He had spent countless years refining its ability to evolve through combat.
Veyron suddenly changed his attack pattern, aiming several feints toward Lumielle’s defenses.
As expected, another fortunate coincidence disrupted his first strike.
However, this time, he had anticipated the interference.
He immediately adjusted his footing and delivered a powerful kick toward her abdomen.
BANG!
Lumielle was sent flying across the battlefield.
She crashed against the ground, coughing blood. However, silver radiance immediately surrounded her body.
[Divine Miracle: Eternal Restoration!]
Her injuries rapidly disappeared.
Lumielle slowly stood, looking somewhat troubled. "You’re surprisingly persistent."
Veyron flexed his fingers. "And you’re surprisingly difficult to injure permanently."
He glanced toward the silver radiance surrounding her.
"Her restoration is genuine, but it must consume something."
Lumielle raised one hand.
Several silver-white feathers materialized around her, forming an elegant defensive formation.
Veyron immediately charged again.
This time, their confrontation became considerably more intense.
Lumielle’s miracles repeatedly protected her from fatal attacks, while Veyron’s physique gradually adapted to the unexpected interruptions.
Every exchange taught his body something new.
He learned to recognize subtle changes in the surrounding energy before a miracle occurred.
He also noticed that Lumielle’s silver radiance became slightly weaker whenever she restored a serious injury.
Veyron suddenly grinned. "I understand now."
Lumielle frowned. "Understand what?"
He pointed toward her chest. "Your miracles aren’t unlimited. Every restoration consumes the divine essence accumulated within your physique."
Lumielle remained silent.
Unfortunately, that silence confirmed his suspicion.
Veyron immediately intensified his attacks.
Rather than attempting to defeat her with one overwhelming strike, he deliberately inflicted smaller injuries, forcing her restoration ability to activate repeatedly.
Lumielle tried retreating, but Veyron had already adapted to her defensive movements.
BANG! BANG!
Two consecutive strikes broke through her guard.
Silver radiance flickered around her body. However, this time, her injuries recovered more slowly.
Veyron smiled. "Your miracles are running out."
Lumielle took a deep breath before straightening her posture. "Perhaps. But I haven’t exhausted everything yet."
She extended both hands.
[Divine Miracle: Thousandfold Blessing!]
An enormous silver halo appeared above her.
Countless luminous feathers descended across the battlefield, each carrying concentrated restorative energy.
However, rather than healing her injuries, the feathers began converging into a single brilliant spear.
Veyron’s expression changed.
"She’s converting her remaining restoration essence into an attack?"
Lumielle smiled faintly. "I never said I couldn’t fight."
She suddenly thrust her hands forward.
The silver spear accelerated toward Veyron, carrying an extraordinary concentration of divine energy.
For the first time, Veyron was forced to defend seriously.
He crossed both arms as his physique rapidly adjusted.
[Adaptive Evolution: Divine Resistance!]
Green markings spread across his skin.
BOOOOOOM!
The spear struck him directly.
An enormous explosion engulfed the surrounding battlefield, sending shattered fragments flying across the arena.
When the silver light finally disappeared, Veyron remained standing.
However, his clothing was torn, his arms were covered in wounds, and blood trickled from his mouth.
He slowly lowered his hands before smiling. "Impressive. That nearly worked."
Lumielle stared at him in disbelief.
His injuries were already beginning to stabilize.
Veyron’s physique had successfully adapted to her divine energy.
He stepped forward, his movements noticeably faster than before. "Unfortunately, you’ve exhausted your strongest defense."
Lumielle attempted to summon another miracle.
However, the silver radiance around her flickered weakly.
Veyron suddenly appeared before her.
BANG!
His palm struck her abdomen, disrupting the remaining divine energy circulating through her body.
Before she could recover, he delivered a powerful strike against her chest.
Lumielle collapsed, her consciousness fading.
---
[Candidate Lumielle - Eliminated.]
[Remaining Candidates: 8]
---
Golden light descended upon Lumielle, transporting her away from the battlefield.
Veyron slowly exhaled before examining his hands.
His physique had evolved considerably during their confrontation.
However, he had also consumed a significant portion of his divine energy.
"That woman was much more troublesome than her ranking suggested."
He suddenly glanced toward the distant battlefield.
Garion and Azrakar were still exchanging punches, while Kaedros watched their movements with increasing interest.
Veyron smiled faintly.
"Perhaps I should observe them next."
Above the arena, the Creator leaned forward with evident amusement.
[Hehehe! Another elimination. And this time, the tenth-ranked candidate nearly defeated the fourth!]
She glanced toward Veyron.
[Not bad, my dear. Your evolution is certainly interesting.]
Meanwhile, Garion noticed the golden announcement.
He briefly glanced toward the distant battlefield before grinning. "Hehehe! Eight left already? Damn, these bastards are moving fast."
Azrakar cracked his neck before approaching him again. "Then perhaps we should hurry and settle our own fight."
Garion raised his fists, laughing. "HAHAHA! Come on, big guy. I’m just getting warmed up."
And once again, their enormous fists collided.
