Chapter 811 - 830: Attracting Outside Attention
The students from Federation University suddenly felt vindicated.
"How could it be fake?!" one of them argued. "This is first place! Look at how far ahead she is from the rest! It’s absolutely real!"
"I don’t believe it," someone from another school countered.
"Believe it or not! You’ll see in a few days," the Federation University student shot back. "This ranking and this score are just the beginning. That woman’s results are only going to get crazier!"
By then, it wouldn’t matter whether the students from other schools believed it or not.
It was exactly as that indignant student had said. Ever since the joint consultation officially began on September 1st, the rankings had already been set in stone. Those who made it to the top on the very first morning usually stayed there. Once they understood the rules, many people paced their treatments to hit the eight-point mark perfectly. However, many Federation University students still went a little overboard, pushing their scores higher.
The rankings updated every day.
After the initially treated patients recovered and returned to work, more and more people flooded into the main city. Everyone grew increasingly busy. Finally, under the intense waves of treatments, many C-level Spirit Healing Masters could no longer handle the pressure.
Under such high-intensity conditions, they failed to get enough rest before starting a new round of exertion. This vicious cycle made it incredibly difficult for them to stably output their Healing Spiritual Power. Thus, the first wave of students was eliminated, and their names were recorded. These were the individuals who failed to awaken their potential even in relatively extreme environments.
Only a few dozen C Level students remained. Because of this, the number of untreated mild patients sharply increased, forcing the rules to change to adapt to reality. From then on, mild patients were handled jointly by the remaining C Level and B Level students.
The patients originally assigned to the B-class were taken over by the A and A+ students. Calculating the headcounts became much more complicated, but one thing remained constant: Jiang Qiuqiu. She was always in first place.
The elderly deans and professors didn’t browse the Star Network. Even if they did, they wouldn’t constantly post updates. After all, having reached middle age, they paid attention to their image and preferred to appear more dignified and composed.
Q3 was incredibly backward. Very few of the native residents even owned a terminal, let alone browsed the Star Network or participated in online circles. Even if a handful did, they probably didn’t pay attention to the free clinics. Furthermore, no television stations came to cover the event, and the local garrison didn’t report on it either. News of the joint consultation only spread to a few neighboring, equally run-down planets. The entire affair had almost zero public awareness.
Then, on September 12th, the joint competition eliminated a thousand C-level Spirit Healing Masters, sending them back to rest in their dorms.
Damn it, as long as young people still had breath in their lungs, who could actually stay in bed? Although the higher-ups had repeatedly issued strict orders forbidding them from wandering outside, one student sneaked out anyway. He paid for a guide, wanting to stroll around Q3 and take in the local scenery.
Unfortunately, he accidentally bumped into a patient he had treated and was immediately recognized. This sparked an outright riot right in the middle of the street. Waves of people swarmed around him, dropping to their knees and begging the student to treat them.
How could someone raised in an Ivory Tower ever have encountered such a situation? He was completely dumbfounded. He wanted to leave but couldn’t escape at all. The crowd didn’t hurt him, but they frantically blocked his path. The whole ordeal only ended when the male student had his pants practically ripped off and was rescued by the local garrison.
Such a crazy scene completely extinguished everyone’s desire to sneak out. Now, they truly had no choice but to play dead in their dorms.
Since they couldn’t go out, everyone resorted to surfing the internet. The trip to Q3 was no longer considered classified, meaning they could freely discuss it on the Star Network. They were young heroes who had helped others; how could they not brag about it?
With everyone chiming in and piecing stories together—some describing the local customs of Q3, others sharing bizarre anecdotes from their treatment sessions—it didn’t take long for things to escalate. Soon, this online circle, created by the idle C-level freshmen, rapidly went viral.
One had to admit, this batch of students was incredibly entertaining.
