“I think he’s pretty hardworking. When I’m with him, he does everything, he even helps me with my clothes...” She stopped mid-sentence.

Oh no, she was afraid she’d said the wrong thing again.

She couldn’t help but glance at Cynthia, but saw no sign that she was upset.

Cynthia was also surprised. “What? He even does your laundry and cooks for you?”

“Uh, well...”

“That little rascal, I really never would’ve guessed he had such a domestic side. It really is true that guys change once they have a girlfriend. But I have to say, knowing that he takes such good care of you puts my mind at ease.”

Hearing this, Alana felt a slight stir in her heart.

She had thought her mother-in-law might mind Stephan taking such good care of her.

After all, she’d watched plenty of videos where mothers-in-law supposedly disliked their sons being too attentive to their wives.

In fact, many mothers-in-law even want their sons to marry a woman who’ll act as a free nanny.

However, Stephan’s mother was different from other mothers, she had a broader perspective and was far more progressive in her thinking.

Suddenly, Alana’s phone vibrated.

She picked it up and saw a message from Stephan.

Stephan: [Where are you having dinner with my mom?]

Alana: [At a SC restaurant near the hospital.]

Stephan: [Send me your location. I’ll be right over.]

Alana looked up at Cynthia. “Mom, Stephan says he’s coming over too.”

After saying that, her face flushed slightly.

She was getting more and more natural and comfortable calling her “Mom.”

Cynthia snorted. That brat, she was having dinner with his girlfriend; what business did he have butting in?

Was he worried she’d pick on his girlfriend?

“He’s just like his dad, he doesn’t like spicy SC food. He’s just coming to watch us eat.”

At home, Cynthia always had two versions prepared of the same dish, one with chili peppers and one without.

To save trouble, she often ate out instead.

“Then should I tell him not to come over?”

Cynthia hesitated for a moment. “Yes, tell him to come over and wait on you.”

Alana blinked.

She certainly wouldn’t dare ask Stephan to serve her dinner in front of her mother-in-law.

But she still sent the location to Stephan.

Putting down her phone, Alana said thoughtfully, “Mom, let’s eat first. By the time Stephan gets here, the food might be cold.”

Cynthia smiled. “Alright, let’s eat first.”

Just as the two of them were nearly finished eating, Stephan appeared.

The moment he appeared, his handsome features and tall, muscular build instantly drew the attention of a crowd.

Especially since he was wearing a black suit and a red tie, exuding an innate air of superiority and refinement that stood in stark contrast to the bustling SC restaurant.

“Wow, he’s so handsome!”

“What a stylish guy! He looks just like the domineering CEO described in novels... so

commanding and cool!”

“But how could a ‘domineering CEO’ from a novel end up in a humble SC restaurant like this? That’s so out of character for him!”

“Oh, maybe the ‘dominant CEO’ has a down-to-earth side too!”

“Exactly! It’s in these ordinary, down-to-earth places that the domineering CEO from the novel meets the beautiful, tragic Cinderella heroine!”

“Come to think of it, who could be that Cinderella heroine?”

The girls, immersed in the world of novel tycoons, all fantasized that they were that

Cinderella heroine, that the tycoon would fall for them at first sight, then pursue them relentlessly, shower them with affection, and even force them into a relationship.

How thrilling is that!

They instantly had material for tonight’s dreams!

They stared intently at the man, their faces full of anticipation, hoping he would walk toward them for a beautiful encounter.

But to their dismay, they could only watch helplessly as he walked toward the table in the farthest corner and sat down, without a hint of hesitation, next to a girl who was equally stunning, with skin as white as snow and a pure, delicate aura.

The moment the handsome man and the beautiful woman sat together, they suddenly realized what it truly meant to be a perfect match, a heavenly pairing.

The man was too handsome, and the woman was too beautiful.

In short, they were a sight for sore eyes, and the perfect match!

Stephan sat down next to Alana, reached out his large hand, and casually hooked it around her rounded shoulder, crossing his legs.

Cynthia rolled her eyes at his brazenly possessive attitude, “You’re so late. We’re already full.”

“Sorry, it took me a while to get here.”

Alana glanced at the man beside her, her face flushing. “Do you want to have a bite? There’s way too much food, Mom and I can’t finish it all.”

But Stephan’s attention was focused elsewhere.

He raised an eyebrow. “You’re already calling her Mom this quickly.”

“Isn’t that what I should call her?

Stephan nodded, his tone casual. “Oh, really? Call her again, just to make me happy.”

Alana blushed even more and nudged him shyly with her elbow.

He had the nerve to do that in public.

Cynthia scolded him, “Son, you’re so sleazy!”

“Mom, I’m not being sleazy with you.”

“I can’t stand watching this!”

“If you can’t stand it, then don’t look. Let’s go home. I’ll drive you. Don’t interrupt my romantic moment with my girlfriend.”

Cynthia gasped.

She turned to Alana, “That little brat... is he usually this flirty?”

Alana nodded and replied with a straight face, “Pretty much.”

“Ugh, I can’t stand it.”

He chuckled, “Are you full yet? If you are, I’ll drive you home.”

“You haven’t eaten yet, have you? Why don’t you have a few bites? Then you won’t need to eat when we get back.”

Stephan glanced at the table full of spicy SC dishes and frowned.

That fiery, pungent aroma shot straight up to the top of his head.

“No thanks. I’m heading home, I’ve got food waiting for me.”

After saying that, he deliberately glanced at Alana with an ambiguous look in his eyes.

Don’t tell me he was thinking about eating her?

Cynthia clearly didn’t catch her son’s hint. “Whatever you want.”

“Then let’s go...”

Cynthia suddenly spoke up, “Wait, stay exactly like that, don’t move, let me take a picture.”

Cynthia snapped several photos of the two of them.

“Mom, why are you taking pictures of me and my girlfriend?”

“To show off on my social media, of course. What else would I do with them?”

Stephan smiled. “Why didn’t you say so sooner?”

“What would you have done even if I had?”

“At least I’d be a little more cooperative.”

“Then cooperate, and I’ll keep filming.”

Stephan nodded, then turned his head and leaned in close to Alana, kissing her delicate cheek as if no one else were there.

Cynthia watched her son’s cheeky move with a look of disgust, but she still put the call on hold and pressed the shutter, beautifully capturing the moment.

As the photo was taken, Alana’s pretty face flushed bright red, glowing like a ripe, tempting red apple.

Cynthia couldn’t help but praise her, “You look absolutely stunning!”

“I know, you don’t have to tell me.”

“I didn’t say you were handsome!”

“Complimenting my girlfriend is the same as complimenting me.”

Cynthia scoffed.

That brat was really shameless.

Alana blushed and was too embarrassed to speak.

Cynthia picked out a few photos. The two of them were so naturally stunning that they didn’t even need editing, the unedited shots looked great right out of the camera.

She posted them directly to her page.

[A photo of my son and his girlfriend, a handsome guy and a beautiful girl, a perfect match!]

As soon as she posted it, Stephan was the first to like it. The second to like it was his father, Bernard.
