Heir of Synthesis: The World Mage
Chapter 350: Messenger
Priam quickly turned toward Dandara. She took a deep breath and nodded.
"She’s still alive."
Priam sighed in relief. Since they had a contract, the two could sense each other’s presence. Without wasting any time, he grabbed Dandara’s hand, and they jumped from the Flying Warship.
Inside the planet’s atmosphere, manipulating the air around him, Priam was infinitely faster than the ship. Activating his entire Elemental Physique, he cut through the sky like lightning.
Everything around them was covered in a dark, corrupt mist; dense Yin of death flowed in every direction.
"There!" Dandara pointed toward the peak of a nearby mountain near the north pole.
Priam accelerated even further.
As they approached, he saw an ocean of Sorcerers surrounding the area. The mountain itself was covered in a terrifying toxic mist, with poisoned corpses scattered everywhere.
At the top, Mo Lan fought in her humanoid form, wielding her bone sword. Her opponent was covered in purple marks, completely poisoned and in a miserable state.
She, however, wasn’t in any better condition. Her body was almost completely destroyed, but she maintained a firm stance. She had probably activated her transformation to conserve as much energy as possible and drag the battle out to the limit.
She had burned 99% of her life energy to expel as much Calamity Poison as possible, covering the mountain to prevent the Sorcerers from advancing en masse.
Even unable to defend the territory, she had managed to survive temporarily with this tactic.
Her extremely high-level Black Shadow Serpent Bloodline granted her extraordinary life-energy regeneration. She could burn almost every last drop to generate the poison; as long as she remained alive, she would eventually recover it all.
Dandara released Priam and roared.
*Blinding Break!*
Her body pulsed, and the elemental power of her three daggers ignited in a blinding radiance. With a single throw, the blades shot forward, merging in the air with a thunderous impact.
*KBOOOOM!*
The impact obliterated the ground near the mountain, striking the horde of Sorcerers who were trying to withstand the poison and advance.
At the same time, Priam struck Mo Lan’s opponent with a sharp, brutal blow.
That dying figure exploded instantly, unable to offer any resistance.
Priam turned toward Mo Lan, staring into her unfocused eyes.
"Rest. You did a good job."
She fell to her knees, completely exhausted, but fought bravely to keep herself from losing consciousness.
"Lord... they... had something different..." she murmured weakly before finally passing out.
Mirra came out and immediately channeled her healing power.
Priam snorted with narrowed eyes.
He had extracted from the memories of the First Celestial—whom he had killed on Dandara’s home planet—the exact method the Sorcerers used to conquer planets at record speed.
There was a technique employed by the elite of the Sorcerers known as the Corrupt God’s Blessing. Once they accumulated enough deaths on a planet, they used the technique to channel the resulting Yin of death.
In short, they could saturate the entire planet with corruption within a matter of moments. But this corruption didn’t run rampant and destroy natural resources like conventional corruption. When generated through the Corrupt God’s Blessing, it was perfectly under control and preserved everything of value.
Priam had already warned Arvid and Mo Lan about this.
Their mission was to identify the fluctuation in power the moment a Sorcerer attempted to cast the Blessing, and kill him immediately.
It took several minutes of total concentration to use. Furthermore, not everyone could use the technique; those talented enough were extremely rare, and for it to work, exactly 666 of them had to act in unison.
If they happened to already have enough Yin of death, they had to eliminate those strategic targets before they completed the necessary count.
That was exactly why they had set up so many inscription traps beforehand and mobilized the firepower of the Flying Warships.
A planet was far too vast; without the Blessing, it would take an eternity to conquer everything.
To make the enemy’s plan even more difficult, Arvid and Mo Lan gathered most of the lifeforms into protected shelters, preventing a mass slaughter that would generate the necessary Yin of death.
Arvid held up the barrier and protected many people until the reinforcements arrived, while the enemies couldn’t use the Blessing with the number of people they had managed to kill; that’s why they focused on destroying the barrier he was protecting first.
Mo Lan, however, wasn’t so lucky.
Judging by her final words, something unpredictable had happened, preventing her from holding the territory in time.
While Dandara wreaked havoc in an insane frenzy among the Sorcerers, Priam took a deep breath and expanded his senses through the currents of wind, sweeping every inch of the planet.
"!"
Suddenly, his perception locked onto a figure right at the center of everything.
It was a Sage-level Sorcerer. But... something was terribly wrong with him.
He exuded an aura that Priam couldn’t comprehend; he could only feel an instinctive sense of dread. It was exactly the same feeling...
Exactly the same as when he had been merely an Initial Mage and felt the overwhelming power of a Sage for the first time.
’This can only be the power of an Immortal!’
Priam was stunned. That figure was clearly only a Sorcerer with power equivalent to a Sage, but apparently, he was wielding something with the power of an Immortal entity.
"Mirra," Priam called out urgently.
She nodded immediately, understanding. Burning all of her Ether, she raised a terrifyingly dense wooden prison around Mo Lan, completely shielding her.
As soon as the protection was complete, Mirra returned to his side, and Priam shot through the sky.
Within seconds, he reached a ruined city.
Inside, the Sorcerers were celebrating their victory in pure ecstasy. At the center of it all, a figure floated a few meters above the ground. Across his skin, a black energy interwoven with golden lines pulsed rhythmically.
He held a staff. At its tip, a sphere shone golden with the intensity of a star.
The moment Priam laid eyes on it...
[World Power Essence detected!]
[NOTE: A World Power Seed can generate essences with a fraction of its original potential. However, it must remain in the same universe and within a short distance of the main body.]
Priam’s eyes widened. The World Power Seed was exactly what he had absorbed before, granting him the ability to devour the Sorcerers’ corruption. (Chapter 192)
’An essence... and this note makes it clear that the ultimate treasure isn’t far away!’
Priam practically drooled, fascinated by what was before him. Knowing that his power seemed increasingly "ordinary" compared to the Celestials, he needed to claim this at any cost.
As for the power of an Immortal that he sensed was present, it must have come from the Corrupt God’s Blessing. He didn’t know exactly how it worked, but perhaps the two things were connected.
With a simple thought, all the corruption covering a gigantic area was drained, violently converging toward him like a ravenous black hole.
The entire atmosphere changed. All the Sorcerers on the ground looked toward the sky, consumed by absolute terror.
The firmament pulsed brilliantly, as if a new sun had been born out of nowhere.
"Disappear."
Priam waved his hand. Converting all his Ether into the wind element, he channeled the energy into the Nexus Seed and burned piles of Yin crystals without hesitation.
In the blink of an eye, he synthesized extremely high-level explosive wind runes.
With a movement of his hands, he began throwing them in every direction, multiplying them without stopping.
Dozens, then hundreds of runes were created and thrown, covering the horizon.
Priam looked like the apocalypse’s own messenger, making the sky rain bombs of destruction on an atomic scale, wielding incomparable power.
**BOOOOOOOOOOM!**
On the ground, the only thing those Sorcerers managed to hear was the deafening crack of the first detonation. Immediately afterward, multiple shockwaves devoured the existence of everything: their sound, light, and very lives were pulverized as if they were less than insects.
