"Did something happen to her?" An Yue asked.

Lin Tian nodded. He explained in detail everything that had happened with Cao Ying, everything that had led her to decide to leave and meditate in pursuit of heavenly enlightenment.

He told her the whole story, and An Yue listened closely.

She didn’t fully grasp dao concepts or heavenly enlightenment, it was still far too early in her cultivation journey, and she hadn’t gained any real experience with heavenly laws yet.

He didn’t mind that at all, and he had no intention of pushing her to understand everything right away, knowing it was still too soon for her.

Instead, he encouraged her to prepare herself, since he’d promised to help her break through to Nascent Soul.

"I can’t wait to break through to Nascent Soul. I’ve always imagined walking across the sky floor, just like Sister An Xiao does."

"Nascent Soul is essentially the peak of a cultivator’s strength, because once someone steps into Soul Formation, they’re no longer considered a mere cultivator, they’re immortal."

Lin Tian raised his hand and reached out to the side, holding An Yue’s hand tenderly. "Don’t worry, I’ll definitely help you break through."

"Thank you, Lin Tian. That puts my mind at ease."

The two of them turned their attention back to the celebration, watching the sect disciples drink and enjoy themselves to their heart’s content, some chatting happily among themselves, others sharing their joy over Lin Tian and An Yue’s marriage.

In the middle of all the festivity, Lin Tian’s eyes narrowed, and he glanced to the side. His qi senses picked up the presence of other cultivators approaching from a distance.

It wasn’t just Lin Tian either. Wu Yue and An Xiao, who’d been drinking nearby, snapped to full alertness instantly. Both of them set down their cups and looked over at Lin Tian.

Lin Tian didn’t give any explicit order beyond a simple nod. That gesture alone was more than enough for Wu Yue and An Xiao to understand exactly what needed to be done.

In an instant, they vanished in a flash of light, leaving the courtyard behind and arriving just outside the Lingxian Sect’s protective dome.

The two of them stood on the sky floor, blocking a group of cultivators attempting to invade the sect. They belonged to a coalition of cultivators from the Wei Kingdom, who came to deliver an ultimatum to the Lingxian Sect.

Words and arguments flew back and forth between them. Wu Yue firmly refused to hand over any tribute, since the Qin Kingdom still stood. An Xiao didn’t hesitate for a second to fight them off either.

"You’re asking to die!" the intruders shouted.

Wu Yue and An Xiao worked together, fighting them off and drawing them away from the Lingxian Sect. Lin Tian, still seated on the stage, kept close watch on how the two women were faring.

Since most of the invading cultivators were only Core Formation, the two women were more than capable of handling them on their own.

Even so, Lin Tian stayed alert to the worst case scenario, in case their sect elders or sect leader decided to show up personally.

An Yue turned and noticed Lin Tian’s expression shift, from pure joy into something tense and serious.

"What’s wrong, my husband?" An Yue asked.

"A sect from the Wei Kingdom, they’ve come to invade the Lingxian Sect," Lin Tian said quietly.

"What? Then what do we do? Master Ying is away right now," An Yue said, worried.

"No need to worry. They stand no chance against Wu Yue or An Xiao."

An Yue turned to look at the table where Wu Yue and An Xiao had been sitting moments ago, now empty except for their abandoned glasses.

Both of them had already left, locked in fierce combat against the Wei Kingdom cultivators.

An Yue hadn’t expected an attack like this, and all she could do was hope the two women returned home safely.

Several disciples noticed the bursts of qi energy coming from outside the sect. A few of them, curious, went to look and were shocked to find a battle raging just beyond the protective dome.

"Look! Isn’t that Elder Wu and Elder An Xiao?"

"They’re fighting off outsider cultivators."

"Those people... they have absolutely no manners. Trying to ruin Sect Leader Lin Tian and Elder An Yue’s wedding celebration!"

Lin Tian noticed his disciples’ attention shifting, fear creeping back into their expressions. That left him with no choice but to resolve the situation outside as quickly as possible.

"Wu Yue... An Xiao."

Both women heard Lin Tian’s voice. He told them to fly closer to the sect, close enough to bring the intruding cultivators within range of his cultivation pressure.

They understood immediately and nodded, flying straight back to the sect and arriving at the front courtyard.

The foreign cultivators chased after them, completely unaware of Lin Tian’s true cultivation base.

"You’re supposedly Nascent Soul cultivators, so why are you running like cowards?!"

"No matter how strong your sect’s protective dome is, it won’t hold up against our combined assault!"

A total of 45 foreign cultivators from the Wei Kingdom arrived outside the sect. Lin Tian could see and sense their qi auras clearly.

With nothing more than a tap of his finger against the armrest of his throne, a powerful wave of cultivation pressure, matching Soul Formation, slammed straight into them.

They dropped from their flying swords and collapsed helplessly onto the ground, screaming in agony as Lin Tian’s primordial energy tore mercilessly into their golden cores.

"S-Soul Formation level cultivation pressure?!"

"How dare you disturb my celebration!" Lin Tian declared, his voice echoing loud and clear for all of them to hear.

Lin Tian tapped his finger against the armrest again, intensifying the pressure even further, instantly killing all 12 Foundation Establishment cultivators outright, their bodies dissolving into scattered particles drifting up into the sky.

The remaining 33 Core Formation cultivators kept writhing in agony, their screams of suffering echoing louder and louder through the forest surrounding the Lingxian Sect.

One of them worked up the nerve to smash a teleportation token, summoning their sect leader to the scene despite the considerable distance involved.

A pillar of white light rose high in front of them, and a cultivator arrived, radiating spiritual energy far stronger than the rest of them combined.

He didn’t come alone either, five sect elders accompanied him. Fortunately, not a single one of them was a Soul Formation cultivator.

"What?! A Soul Formation cultivator?!" the Hanbao Sect Leader gasped in shock.

He flew forward, clasped his hands together, and bowed his head low. "This junior sincerely apologizes for my disciples’ insolence."

"My disciples had no right to disturb Senior’s sacred wedding celebration."

"We beg for Senior’s mercy."

Still seated on his throne, Lin Tian turned and spoke, his voice echoing across the entire sect. "Which sect are you from?"

"The Hanbao Sect."

"I’ll remember your sect’s name," Lin Tian said, sweeping his hand and lifting the cultivation pressure. "Today’s a good day. I have no interest in killing so many people."

"Take them and leave. Never come back here again!"

"Y-Yes, of course. Thank you for your generosity, Senior!"
