Chapter 102: Chapter 102: Mini Boss, Grave Sovereign

The day continued without any significant changes in the throne room. Ragnar occasionally checked the system to monitor the dungeon’s activity, while Veyra and Kaelira remained nearby for a time before eventually leaving to attend to their own duties.

As the hours passed, the number of adventurers inside the dungeon gradually decreased. Groups that had entered earlier began returning toward the entrance, some carrying monster materials and others discussing the dangers they had encountered on the first floor. A few looked exhausted, while others appeared satisfied with their gains.

By the time night arrived, the last of the adventurers had begun leaving the dungeon.

Ragnar remained alone in the throne room, sitting on his enormous throne as the magical lights illuminated the towering pillars around him. The chamber was quiet, with only the faint sounds of the dungeon’s distant activity reaching his ears.

He opened the system and checked his resources.

[Dungeon Master Status]

[Name: Ragnar Lindgren]

[Race: Demon]

[Level: 29]

[Soul Points: 15]

Ragnar’s glowing eyes settled on the number displayed beside his Soul Points.

A faint smile appeared on his chiseled face.

"Fifteen Soul Points. Finally, I have enough to buy a mini-boss for the Graveyard."

Ragnar had already established the Graveveil Wardens as the main monsters inhabiting the area. However, he knew that a defensive region would benefit from having a stronger guardian capable of serving as its final obstacle.

With that thought in mind, Ragnar opened the monster shop and selected the undead category. He then adjusted the filters to display only mini-bosses.

Rows of entries appeared before him.

Some were hulking undead warriors clad in rusted armor, wielding weapons large enough to split ordinary adventurers in half. Others were monstrous creatures formed from the remains of a beasts, while a few specialized in curses and death magic. Their levels and prices varied, and several were far beyond what Ragnar could currently afford.

He ignored those entries and concentrated on monsters whose required Soul Points did not exceed his current budget.

The first few options failed to impress him. Ragnar continued scrolling.

"Come on. There has to be something suitable here."

Several minutes passed before Ragnar finally stopped moving his finger across the interface.

"Oh?"

A new entry had caught his attention.

[Level 35]

[Grave Sovereign]

[Race: Undead]

[Classification: Mini Boss]

[Required Soul Points: 15]

[Description: An ancient grave guardian clad in black burial armor, with a crown of broken bones resting upon its skull. It wields a massive executioner’s blade and commands the death energy lingering within its burial grounds. Even in death, the Grave Sovereign maintains its authority over the graveyard, punishing anyone who disturbs the eternal rest of the buried.]

[Skill 1: Sovereign’s Decree

Description: The Grave Sovereign releases a wave of death energy that weakens the physical strength of nearby enemies. Those with insufficient resistance experience reduced movement speed and weakened attacks.]

[Skill 2: Sepulchral Blade

Description: The Grave Sovereign swings its massive blade, releasing a crescent of dark energy capable of cutting through multiple enemies. The attack becomes more powerful against targets affected by Sovereign’s Decree.]

[Skill 3: Grave King’s Resurgence

Description: When severely injured, the Grave Sovereign absorbs death energy from the surrounding burial ground to restore a portion of its strength and recover from some of its wounds. This skill can only be activated once per battle.]

Ragnar read through the description twice, and the smile on his face gradually widened.

"Now, that is a good set of skills."

What pleased Ragnar the most was how well the monster complemented the Graveveil Wardens.

The nine elite undead could restrain intruders and disrupt their coordination, forcing them to expend their skills and energy just to advance through the graveyard. By the time they encountered the Grave Sovereign, they might already be exhausted. Its weakening aura would make their situation even worse, while its powerful blade could threaten several opponents at once.

Ragnar raised his hand and selected the purchase option.

[Confirm Summoning: Grave Sovereign]

[Level: 30]

[Classification: Mini Boss]

[Required Soul Points: 15]

[Confirm?]

Without further hesitation, Ragnar pressed the confirmation button.

[Summoning Successful!]

Ragnar watched as the system notification disappeared, his expression filled with satisfaction.

"Excellent. The Graveyard finally has its ruler."

----

The following morning, the dungeon once again welcomed a steady stream of adventurers. Groups entered through the enormous doorway, carrying weapons, armor, and various supplies for their expedition.

Some were familiar faces from Hetin Town, while others appeared to have traveled from distant settlements. Their arrival had become increasingly common over the past few days, and Ragnar was beginning to suspect that news of his dungeon had spread farther than he initially expected.

Seated upon his enormous throne, the four-meter-tall demon watched the floating screen with interest. His dark horns curved backward from his head, and his glowing eyes moved across the adventurers as the system displayed their information.

Then, a particular group caught his attention.

There were ten adventurers in total, all wearing well-maintained equipment. Their armor was sturdy, their weapons appeared to be of good quality, and their movements suggested that they had fought together on numerous occasions. Unlike inexperienced adventurers who frequently looked around in curiosity or nervousness, these ten entered the dungeon with a clear purpose.

Ragnar casually examined their levels, but when his gaze landed on the man leading the group, his glowing eyes suddenly narrowed.

"Hmm?"

He leaned forward, studying the familiar face displayed on the screen.

The man wore practical adventurer’s armor, with a greatsword hanging his back. His appearance had changed considerably since Ragnar had last seen him. His physique was burly, his movements more confident, and the look in his eyes suggested that he had accumulated considerable experience through countless battles.

Nevertheless, Ragnar recognized him immediately.

Back then, that man had been nothing more than a hunter from a nearby village. He had been the first human to discover Ragnar’s dungeon and the first adventurer to step inside it. At the time, he had possessed neither impressive equipment nor the strength of a seasoned adventurer. He had simply entered the dungeon out of curiosity and a desire to earn some money.

Now, however, he looked like an entirely different person.
