Harem System In A fantasy World

Chapter 233: I was scared...

Chapter 233: I was scared…

The liquid flowed slowly past her lips, a faint glow trailing behind it as it slipped into her trembling mouth. Elion steadied her head gently with his other hand with a careful grip so she wouldn’t choke.

For a brief moment, nothing happened, and the room fell into a strange silence as everyone watched with bated breath.

Then her body began to react.

A soft green light began to spread from her throat, travelling downward through her body like flowing streams of life, visible beneath her skin as it moved.

Her trembling slowed slightly as the energy coursed through her, and then it reached her shoulder on the wound.

The torn flesh began to twitch, and then it began to move grotesquely.

Everyone’s eyes widened in shock, including Elion.

Muscle began to weave itself together, strands of flesh reconnecting in real time as if guided by an invisible hand.

The bleeding slowed rapidly as the torn edges pulled toward each other, knitting together at a speed that was impossible by normal standards, and then the white bone extended outward from the shoulder.

Everything grew back piece by piece, forming the structure of her arm as it rebuilt itself. The sound was faint but audible as the regeneration continued without pause, followed by layers of muscle wrapping around it, then skin forming over it smoothly, sealing everything together.

It was fast. Too fast.

Within seconds, her arm was whole again.

Aria’s breathing slowed.

The pain that had twisted her face began to fade, and her expression relaxed gradually as the tears on her cheeks stopped falling.

Her fingers twitched slightly as sensation returned, her newly formed hand clenching weakly as if testing itself.

Beatrice froze in shock; her hands were still glowing faintly, but her input was no longer needed.

“…What…” she muttered under her breath, her eyes fixed on the completely healed arm, with disbelief clear on her face.

The other healers stared on, all of them speechless. Even Lord Moon was silent now.

“Aria…” Elion called softly again, his voice much gentler now. Her eyes fluttered slightly.

Aria slowly came to, and the first thing she did was look at her arm in a daze as she lifted it slightly. Her fingers trembled as they traced along her shoulder, then down her arm, then to her hand, touching it again and again as if she could not believe it was really there.

“I… it’s…” her voice shook.

For a moment, she just stared at it. Then her expression broke completely.

Tears welled up in her eyes again, overflowing instantly as her lips trembled, and without warning, she lurched forward off the bed.

“El—!”

“Careful—” Elion reacted immediately, stepping forward and catching her as she threw herself into his arms, her full weight colliding into him as she wrapped her arms tightly around his neck.

The force knocked him slightly off balance. He staggered a step back, then another, before both of them fell.

Thud.

They hit the floor together, Elion landing on his back with Aria on top of him. She buried her face into his chest as she clung to him tightly.

Her body trembled as the sobs finally broke free, and she started bawling her eyes out without a care in the world.

“I was scared…” she cried, her voice muffled against him as her grip tightened.”I was really scared…”

Elion let out a soft breath as he adjusted slightly beneath her, one hand moved to support her head while the other wrapped around her back, pulling her closer gently in a tight hug.

“It’s okay… I’m here,” he said softly as he pressed her body tighter into him. “You’re okay now… you’re safe.”

Aria only cried harder, her fingers clutching onto his clothes as if she was afraid he might disappear if she let go.

“I thought—” she choked on her words, her voice breaking, “I thought I lost it forever… I thought—”

“I know,” Elion murmured quietly, cutting her off gently as he stroked her hair. “It’s over now.” Minutes passed, in each other’s embrace like that.

They stayed still like that on the floor, Aria’s body pressed tightly against him as her tears soaked through his shirt.

He continued to pat her head and rub her back slowly with steady and calming movement, never rushing her and never pulling away, while everyone in the room watched them in awkward silence, though one of them was trying very hard not to pry the pair apart.

Mira had moved closer at some point, her expression soft as she looked down at the two of them. Seeing that Aria’s condition had stabilised, she let out a quiet breath of relief, her shoulders relaxing slightly.

“…She’s okay,” she whispered to herself.

Aria’s mother watched silently, her gaze lingering on the pair, taking in the way Aria clung to him, the way Elion held her without hesitation, without caring who was watching.

’They really do love each other…’

Then her eyes shifted slightly toward Mira.

She noticed the way Mira looked at Elion, the warmth in her eyes, the quiet affection, and it only took her a moment to piece it together.

“…She must be the other one then,” she murmured softly under her breath as a light smile graced her lips.

Meanwhile, Beatrice finally leaned back, letting her shoulders slump just a little as the exhaustion finally caught up to her.

“Tch… you just had to show off, didn’t you?” she said, crossing her arms as she looked down at Elion, though her tone lacked its usual bite. “You just stole my job.”

Elion let out a quiet chuckle, still gently stroking Aria’s hair. “You looked like you were about to collapse,” he replied lightly.

Beatrice rolled her eyes, though a faint smile tugged at her lips, “…Idiot,” she muttered before looking away.

Apparently, that was the closest thing to a thank you she would give him for now.

When Aria heard Beatrice speak, only then did she realise that there were other people in the room. Her sobs slowed as she lifted her face from Elion’s chest.

Her cheeks were flushed and wet with tears, her nose sniffling slightly as she looked around, only to freeze when her eyes landed on a very familiar pair.

Her parents. Her eyes widened instantly.

She pushed herself up slightly, using Elion’s chest for support as her hands pressed against him, though she didn’t fully move out of his embrace yet, her body still leaning toward him as if reluctant to let go.

“F-father… mother…!” she stammered, her voice shaky as her face flushed even deeper.

“W-what are you doing here…?”

Her embarrassment hit her all at once. She looked like she wanted the ground to open up and swallow her whole.

Her mother chuckled softly at the sight, her expression warm despite everything that had happened, and she extended her arms slightly.

“Come here, my dear,” Ivy called for her.

Aria hesitated for a brief moment, her gaze flicking downward toward Elion, who was still lying beneath her. Her cheeks burned as she realised the compromising position they had been in this whole time.

“S-sorry…” she mumbled softly, quickly getting off him as she stood up. Her movements looked a little stiff as she folded her arms awkwardly in front of her.

She took a few small steps forward.

“Come, Aria…” her mother called gently.

The moment Aria got close, her mother pulled her into a tight embrace, wrapping her arms around her as she closed her eyes and let out a deep breath she had been holding in for far too long.

“I’m glad you are alright.”

Aria froze for a moment and then slowly melted into the hug.

Elion took the opportunity to get up from the floor, brushing his clothes lightly, though he had no way to get rid of the tears and snort on his tunic and jacket. He steadied himself before walking toward Mira with a small smile.

She looked up at him, smiling, but she fought the urge to also slip into his embrace while no one was watching.

His expression softened as he saw her up close, but that smile did not last long as his eyes shifted slightly and caught sight of Aria’s father walking toward him with a very salty expression.

Just like that, the air between them grew tense again.

Mira, who had already sensed what was about to happen, smiled wryly as she took a small step back, her gaze flicking between the two men before she let out a quiet sigh, realising that this was no place for her to be in that moment.

So, without making a scene, she excused herself and moved over to the other women, leaving the two men standing face-to-face on their own.

Elion stopped where he was and folded his arms calmly across his chest, his posture relaxed.

And just like that, a silent staredown began as the two men looked at each other without speaking, the tension between them thick enough to be felt by everyone in the room.
