Harem System In A fantasy World

Chapter 190: He’s just so...

Chapter 190: He’s just so…

Elion walked calmly through the second-year halls. Students gave him curious looks as he passed, since he was clearly a first-year student and he was alone in an area most of his peers rarely visited.

He didn’t pay them much attention to it. His thoughts were still on Celeste.

He had already moved past the stage where he overanalyzed every little moment he shared with his women. Still, the realization that Celeste was now his woman lingered in his mind.

Apart from making him feel good about himself, it also meant trouble. A lot of trouble.

A small chuckle escaped him as another thought surfaced. He had promised Aria that she would be the one to bear his first child. Yet somehow, things had turned out differently.

Celeste had beaten her to it.

He rubbed the back of his head with a quiet laugh.

’Aria is not going to take that well…’

In any case, things had changed now. With the Golden Seed ability guaranteeing pregnancies, he knew that sooner or later, he would have to visit Esmeralda and Ophelia as well.

He stepped into the elevator, his eyes slightly unfocused as his thoughts continued drifting.

What did he think about becoming a father at the measly age of nineteen?

Honestly… not much.

He had already discussed the matter with Esmeralda and Ophelia. They had insisted that they would take full responsibility since they were the ones who wanted it in the first place.

Still, Elion didn’t want to become an absent father.

Being an orphan for a part of his life had left him with a bit of trauma. If he did the same to his own children, it would leave a bitter taste in his mouth. Even if the mothers took the lead, he intended to be present whenever he could.

But Celeste was different.

He was certain that with her, things would not be so simple.

She was a noble.

If it became known that she was pregnant while the father remained unknown, it would not only damage her reputation but also that of her entire clan.

Her parents, her family, and even the political standing of her people could be affected more than they already were right now.

That meant one thing.

He would have to stand beside her openly.

Even though this had not been part of his original plans, he would not have agreed if he wasn’t prepared to take responsibility.

The elevator doors opened.

Elion stepped onto the first year’s floor and stretched slightly as he walked out.

’I’m finally back.’

His steps were light as he walked through the hall.

Now then…

What should he do today?

Honestly, apart from the matter with William, he didn’t feel like he had much else to do. ’Should I start attending class again?’ he thought. ’Nah.’

He doubted he would find anyone there. People were too busy honing their combat skills to bother with theoretical classes.

Maybe you would find a few in Selene or Eveline’s class, but no doubt most people were busy fighting monsters in the dungeon

After thinking for a moment, Elion decided to go train with his sword.

He still had quite a bit of time before lunch. It was a little ironic when he thought about it, considering how much had already happened since he stepped into the academy early that morning.

Right now, it was only mid-morning.

He walked calmly through the halls, but his appearance quickly stirred murmurs among the students. The events from earlier had clearly spread.

“Bastard,” he heard someone mutter as he passed.

There were probably worse things being said as well, but Elion didn’t bother listening too closely. He had no interest in defending himself or explaining anything.

He simply tuned it all out.

He also had no idea what kind of story was circulating through the academy now. Whatever it was, the girls would probably tell him later.

’Hmm.’

Just as he turned the corner toward one of the nearby training rooms, he spotted Isolde walking straight toward him.

Or rather… walking while staring at the floor.

Her thoughts were clearly somewhere else. Elion stopped right in her path and waited.

Bump.

She walked straight into him.

Even after that, she still seemed a little out of it.

’Her awareness is terrible,’ Elion thought.

She looked up suddenly, realising that she had walked into something.

“S-sorry—”

Her words stopped when she realized who she had bumped into.

“Elion!”

A deep blush spread across her face immediately. She quickly stepped back, one hand flying to her chest as if checking her racing heartbeat.

“Hey, Isolde,” he greeted her with his usual relaxed smile.

That only made her blush deepen further as she looked away.

“Uhm…” she started nervously. “I heard what happened.”

Of course, he knew what she meant.

He just didn’t expect her to ask about it so directly.

Maybe that was exactly what she had been thinking about when she ran into him.

“Did you… those girls… did you…?”

She couldn’t finish the question.

But she didn’t need to.

They both knew what she was asking.

Elion smiled slightly.

“What do you think?” he asked as he stepped closer.

Isolde instinctively stepped back.

And then again, until her back touched the wall.

“Hey!”

A few voices suddenly cut in.

Both Elion and Isolde turned their heads.

A group of four girls walked toward them, glaring at Elion.

But the moment he turned to face them fully, they all stopped in their tracks, their fierce glares instantly softened into fiery blushes. One by one, they awkwardly looked away.

“Do we have a problem, ladies?” Elion asked calmly, slipping his hands into his pockets.

“Uhm… well… you see…” they began stumbling over their words.

Isolde shifted uncomfortably beside the wall.

“Isolde…She looks really uncomfortable,” the girl standing in front finally managed to say. “Don’t you think you’re being a bit too forceful?”

Before Elion could respond, another voice suddenly cut in.

“Hey! Why are you sugarcoating it!”

A random guy pushed his way forward from the crowd.

“This guy assaulted three girls a few days ago,” he said loudly, pointing straight at Elion. “And now he’s attacking poor Isolde. Are you all just going to ignore it because he happens to have decent looks? He’s obviously a womanizing bastard with no morals.”

Elion slowly turned his head and gave the guy a calm glance. When Elion’s gaze landed on him, he flinched and took a few steps back.

He didn’t dare to say anything else.

’Honestly, it’s a mystery how more and more people seem to have zero brain cells these days,’ he thought. Maybe it only applied to him, who knows.

He ignored the guy completely after giving him that single glance. Instead, he turned his attention back to the group of girls.

“Quite bold of you to assume I was about to do anything to her,” he said calmly.

Then he looked back at Isolde.

“Were you uncomfortable, Isolde?”

She blinked for a moment, clearly still a little flustered. Then she quickly shook her head adorably.

“Uhm… no.”

The way she said it, with that shy little motion, made Elion smile without meaning to. ’Man… I really do have a thing for small women like her hmmm?’ he thought.

From Celeste to Isolde, they had a somewhat similar build. And for some reason, he always found himself drawn to their soft curves and gentle presence.

He turned back toward the girls.

“See? Nothing that you need to worry about here.” Then he added casually, “Now, if you’ll excuse us.”

Before anyone could interrupt again, he reached out and grabbed Isolde’s hand. He pulled her along with him down the hallway.

“Ah—!” she let out a small, surprised yelp as she stumbled forward after him.

“Yaana, you should have been more proactive,” one of the girls said, turning to the girl who had been speaking to Elion earlier.

“What?!” Yaana snapped back immediately. “How are you blaming this on me?”

“You all saw that! You were just as quiet as I was!”

She crossed her arms, clearly annoyed.

“At least I managed to say something!” she added defensively.

The other girls looked away with guilty expressions.

“Well… It’s just that he’s so…” one of them began.

“Handsome,” another finished.

They all paused for a second.

Then, slowly, they nodded to each other in complete agreement.
