Chapter 1130 – He Promised Me a Good Bang

Kaelmor’s gaze darkened.

Impossible to die did not mean impossible to break.

A weak immortal was not a king, it was a joke that lasted forever.

A body that could not die could still kneel. Could still be caged. Could still be cut, starved, humiliated, drained, owned. Eternity without power was not glory.

It was Hell.

Not his Hell.

A real one.

A forever Hell, where every dawn was another chance for someone stronger to remind you that survival was not victory. Where abuse had no final mercy. Where fear became schedule. Where pain became furniture.

No.

Immortality and power had to remain married.

Forever life meant nothing unless it lived in constant glory.

Kaelmor lifted one broken crystal shard and watched the chamber light slide across it.

He would not become a weak immortal.

He would not be trapped beneath someone else’s heel, smiling because he had no other weapon left.

He would not let this end.

His fingers closed around the shard until it cracked to dust.

"Seal every route," he said lightly. "Wake the palace archive. Review all chamber echoes. I want to know who touched this array, who redirected my crystals, and why my guards performed like frightened furniture."

The guards bowed sharply. "Yes, Your Majesty."

"And find her trail."

One guard hesitated. "If she resists?"

Kaelmor turned.

His smile was lovely.

"Then try to survive long enough to make the report useful."

The guard went pale.

Kaelmor brushed dust from his torn sleeve, expression bright again, almost cheerful. "Run along."

They ran.

Kaelmor remained in the broken chamber, alone with the wreckage, the blood, and the lingering scent of the demoness’s power.

His smile softened into something hungrier.

"My lady," he whispered, "you woke beautifully."

Then his eyes narrowed.

"But someone helped you."

The chamber’s dying seals flickered.

Kaelmor’s grin sharpened.

"And I do hate uninvited investors."

Far away from Kaelmor’s broken chamber, the demoness moved through Hell like a secret that had finally gotten bored of being hidden.

She did not run.

Running was for prey, messengers, and men who realized too late that their retirement plan involved betrayal. She simply stepped from shadow to shadow, folding distance beneath her bare feet, her ruined shadow-silk fluttering around her body like night trying very hard to be a dress. Behind her, traces of power collapsed inward, eating themselves before any royal tracker could catch more than a taste.

Not enough to follow.

Enough to fear.

She smiled at that.

Still, no matter how elegantly she covered her trail, her power leaked.

A little.

Not because she lacked control.

Because some things were too old to be perfectly quiet.

Ancient power had weight. Scent. Pressure. It bent the air and made lesser demons suddenly remember urgent appointments elsewhere. As she crossed districts, glass darkened. Contracts curled at the edges. Coins turned warm in vaults.

The demoness lifted her face.

Greed.

Not Kaelmor’s stolen, decorated, throne-polished kind.

This one was cleaner.

Sharper.

Golden.

Deliciously arrogant.

Lux.

Her lips curved.

"Little Greed," she murmured. "Where are you hiding?"

The trail led her to the Prime Nexus Tower.

It rose above Greed territory like a monument to wealth, ambition, and very aggressive architecture. Black glass. Gold veins. Floating ledgers circling upper floors. Infernal elevators moving like obedient blades. The whole tower smelled of money, power, ink, coffee, and expensive stress.

She appeared directly inside the highest office.

Zavros Vaelthorn looked up from a massive ledger spread across his desk.

For one frozen second, the Greed Lord did not move.

That alone was alarming.

Beside the window, Seraphyne turned.

Her beauty sharpened instantly.

One moment she was lounging with elegant boredom, all dark silk and dangerous curves, watching her husband pretend not to overwork himself.

The next, she was standing.

Possessive.

Lethal.

Lust aura blooming around her like perfume dipped in knives.

Zavros slowly closed the ledger.

His eyes narrowed.

"Who are you?"

The demoness did not answer.

She walked toward him instead.

Zavros’s Greed chains rose immediately.

Real chains. Thick, gold-black, covered in contract runes, unfurling from the shadows around his desk and wrists like obedient serpents with excellent legal representation. They circled the room, not attacking yet, but making a very persuasive argument that the office had security after all.

The demoness ignored them.

She leaned closer to Zavros.

And sniffed.

Zavros blinked.

Seraphyne’s eyes went crimson.

"What," she said softly, "do you want with my husband?"

The temperature in the office dropped.

Then rose.

Then became very confused, because Greed and Lust were both preparing to commit a marital crime.

The demoness glanced at Seraphyne, amused. "Don’t worry. I just smell your husband for your son."

Zavros’s expression did something very rare.

It cracked.

Seraphyne stared. "Excuse me?"

The demoness sniffed Zavros again, then leaned back with visible disappointment. "Lux smells better than this."

Zavros looked offended in a fatherly, demonic, financially powerful way.

Seraphyne looked like she could not decide whether to kill the woman or ask for details.

The demoness waved one hand lazily. "Anyway, where is he?"

Zavros stood.

The Greed chains rose higher, scraping softly against the ceiling, desk, windows, and the expensive atmosphere. "What do you want with my son?"

The demoness smiled.

Slow.

Wicked.

Unashamed.

"He woke me up."

Zavros went still.

Seraphyne’s eyes narrowed.

The demoness touched her lower lip, remembering spirit-warmth, dark-gold taste, that careful little kiss that had been entirely too polite for a man who smelled like sin and expensive ruin.

"And," she added, "he promised me a good bang. Now I want him to pay."

The office became silent enough to audit.

Zavros stared at her.

Seraphyne stared at her.

Somewhere in the corner, a floating ledger shut itself out of sheer self-preservation.

Seraphyne’s voice came out dangerously calm. "What are—"

The demoness suddenly paused.

Her red eyes shifted.

"Oh, wait."

She tilted her head, tasting the fading route again. Lux’s trail had come twisted sideways. Green-black, reflective, slippery.

Envy.

The demoness smiled brightly. "He must be in Envy’s place. He came from an Envy route."

Zavros’s chains snapped forward.

Too late.

The demoness stepped backward into a fold of shadow, her smile lingering like a scandal written in lipstick.

"Bye now~"

Then she disappeared.

The Greed chains struck empty air.

For several seconds, nobody spoke.

Then Seraphyne turned slowly toward Zavros.

Her smile was beautiful. Terrifying.

"Our son," she said, "woke an ancient demoness and promised her what?"

Zavros looked at the space where the demoness had vanished.

Then at the ruined composure of his office.

He inhaled once. "Apparently," he said, very carefully, "Lux is negotiating again."

Seraphyne’s eyes glowed. "With his body?"

Zavros closed his eyes.

The ledger on his desk reopened by itself, as if offering paperwork as emotional support.

"I am increasing his risk rating," Zavros muttered.

Seraphyne smiled sharper. "I am increasing his parental supervision."

And somewhere far away, Lux Vaelthorn suddenly felt a chill crawl down his spine.

Not from Kaelmor.

Worse.

Mother.
