Chapter 375: Shao Xia is missing

It did not take a long time for the small team to arrive at the big bear tribe. Ruan Chanchan jumped off Xie Daiyu’s back and rubbed her sore legs. She was really too tired these days. At first, riding the big bear was really fun, but soon it turned a bit troublesome because her thighs started to ache. Fortunately, the queen helped them to cross the sea, and they only needed to walk for a short while before arriving at the tribe.

Even though she did not suffer for long, Ruan Chanchan felt really tired. She was not suffering from princess syndrome, but she truly wanted to lie down and rest after being tossed around for so long.

Ruan Chanchan raised her head and saw Yuan Ni running toward her. When she saw the mer, she was stumped for words. Though Yuan Ni was not as good-looking as Xie Daiyu, he was considerably handsome as well. But now he looked completely horrible. His hair had turned tangled, and there were eye bags under his eyes. He looked like he hadn’t slept for days.

Yuan Ni desperately ran towards Ruan Chanchan. He stretched out his hands and touched the familiar face with trembling fingers. When he saw that Ruan Chanchan was truly standing in front of him, Yuan Ni’s eyes could not help but shed tears. He reached out and hugged her tight in his embrace, his warm tears dripping down her neck. "Oh, it’s really you. You are finally back. You are finally back."

Ruan Chanchan was stunned when she saw the ragged condition of Yuan Ni. She pushed him away and took a closer look at the mer with shock in her eyes. "Yuan Ni, what’s wrong with you?" Even though the two of them were just friends, she could not help but feel sorry for the mer. What was going on?

Before he could answer, Ruan Zique came running. He hurled himself into the arms of his sister and burst into tears. "Sister, you are finally here. Where did you go? I was so worried." Ruan Zeqiu could not help but cry when he saw his sister standing in front of him. These days, only he knew how he had been surviving. Each day, he was worried about his sister. Ever since he found out that his sister was pushed off the cliff, he had not dared to close his eyes in worry that he would miss even the smallest detail.

"Ruan Chanchan, you don’t know. These two have been looking for you these past few days; they did not even dare to sleep because they were worried that they might miss even the smallest piece of a clue. You have no idea; these two have been going crazy ever since you went missing. They haven’t been eating or drinking. Nor have they been sleeping. If not for the fact that the priestess knocked them out, these two would have been driven mad by your absence." Someone in the crowd answered Ruan Chanchan’s question when they saw that Yuan Ni and Ruan Zeqiu were busy crying.

"By the way, Ruan Chanchan, are you okay? Did those people in the killer whale tribe bully you?" Yuan Ni asked while holding Ruan Chanchan’s hands in his.

"I am fine; I was pushed by Hei Ya off the cliff. The people in the killer whale tribe saved my life; if not for them, I am worried I would have died without even getting a place to stay." Ruan Chanchan did not want the people from the tribe to misunderstand those from the killer whale tribe. She then paused and looked around, but she did not see Hei Ya in the crowd. Don’t tell her, was that mer already caught?

Chief Xie drove the people around them and then turned to look at Xie Daiyu and Ruan Chanchan. "You two go back to your cave; you have been running around for quite some time and are tired. You both need some rest." She then turned to look at Ruan Zeqiu and Yuan Ni, who did not look any better and then added, "You two as well. It is an order."

She did not want them to faint anymore. These days these three mers were doing some kind of trick, every once in a while one of them would faint.

Ruan Zeqiu and Yuan Ni did not fight; they were indeed quite tired after running around these past few days. They hadn’t closed their eyes even for a second, even though they were tired to their bones. Now that Ruan Chanchan was back, they could finally calm down and rest a little.

Ruan Zeqiu glanced at his sister and sighed. He had moved into another cave after finding out that Xie Daiyu was pregnant, as he did not want to interfere in his sister’s and Xie Daiyu’s lives. Though he wanted to talk with Ruan Chanchan, he knew that his sister also needed to rest.

With a sigh, he turned around on his feet and walked away. Later, he was going to talk with his sister in the evening.

Ruan Zeqiu left, and Xie Daiyu brought Ruan Chanchan to the cave where the two of them were living. When they arrived at the cave, Ruan Chanchan noticed that Xie Daiyu had actually turned the entire cave into a kind of nest. There were comfortable and soft beasts’ skins scattered all over the floor of the cave. There were countless fruits that she had taught the tribe’s people piled in a corner, and then there was also a reservoir of water. It seemed like Xie Daiyu had prepared everything for his pregnancy.

Her heart could not help but soften as she reached out to hold Xie Daiyu. "I am sorry; I was not here with you when you found out that you were pregnant." It must have been really tiring for him. Taking care of their child as well as worrying about her.
