Chapter 678: Chapter 604: Elemental Birth and Destruction Law (2)

Divine Spirits enjoy looking down on the world, not gazing up at the starry sky.

It is rarer still for them to witness the death of a Sun after billions of years.

What does a Sun become after it dies?

The process begins with the collapse of its matter.

The Sun’s density increases at a tremendous rate. The collapsing matter undergoes a violent fusion reaction, converting mass into a torrent of unleashed energy.

Observed from a distant planet, the resulting spectacle is that of a magnificent and brilliant supernova.

But for any life caught within the supernova’s blast radius—even for Divine Spirits—the scene before them had nothing to do with magnificence or splendor.

To them, it was the color of death.

The Divine Spirits, who had never before witnessed a supernova, now observed the entire process up close: from the Sun’s collapse to its explosive outburst.

Just as they had wished.

The Sun was destroyed.

But it was not they who had destroyed it.

Li Wei had destroyed this Sun of his own volition.

He burned away all of the Sun’s substance, unleashing its final, most dazzling radiance upon the world.

The instant the two Divine Spirits sensed the mortal danger, they turned to flee.

But the supernova erupted too quickly.

In a mere instant, the figures of the two Divine Spirits vanished into the majestic light of the supernova.

Li Wei had once wondered if detonating a Sun could destroy a Divine Kingdom.

Now, he knew the answer.

For a Divine Kingdom like the Golden Field, detonating a single Sun could destroy it tens of thousands of times over with ease.

This was Power that even the gods feared.

In Maple City, the Sun had just set, and the sky was growing dark.

People lit their lamps, preparing to enter the night.

Suddenly, a light appeared in the sky, its brilliance illuminating everything.

It banished the night, shining brighter than day.

No one could raise their head to look directly at the otherworldly light.

Those who stepped out of their homes could feel the intensely hot rays scorching their bodies.

Everyone hid inside their homes.

The Defense Arrays of the Mage Towers were activated, resisting the intense light descending from without.

Li Wei stood at the edge of the balcony, looking up at the sky.

It was the direction of the newly detonated Sun.

The direction of the supernova.

Gu Sewei placed her right hand over her brow, squinting as she walked up behind Li Wei. “What happened? What’s going on?” she asked in surprise.

The sky outside was a blinding white.

No clouds or Sun were visible; looking up, there was only endless white light.

Staring at it for too long would make even a Professional’s eyes ache with a piercing pain, possibly even causing temporary blindness.

Li Wei took Gu Sewei by the shoulders, turning her back toward the room.

“It’s nothing, just a minor accident. I didn’t expect that Sun to be so close to the Sky Dome World. It’s caused a bit of an impact.”

Gu Sewei didn’t quite understand what Li Wei was saying.

But since Li Wei said it was nothing, she decided there was no need to worry.

The blinding white light enveloping the Sky Dome World lasted for a whole month.

For that month, most regions of the Sky Dome World were under constant daylight.

Many of the invading races from other Otherworlds found the month-long, piercing glare unbearable.

In many places, defensive lines that had been on the verge of collapse were somehow, inexplicably, held.

This was especially true for invaders from the Underworld and the Dark World.

When the intense light erupted, they threw down their arms and fled in a panic.

A month later, from the Star Realm, Li Wei finally managed to block a portion of the rays aimed at the Sky Dome World.

Compared to the total energy contained within the supernova, this portion didn’t even amount to one one-hundred-millionth of it.

“You’re a madman!”

Rose cursed, standing on Li Wei’s shoulder.

Her body was much smaller now.

She was barely the size of his palm.

Li Wei said coolly, “You’re lucky to be alive. Don’t go looking for trouble, or I might just swat you flat.”

Rose fell silent.

Rose had made a tremendous sacrifice to survive.

She was no longer a Divine Spirit.

She had already given her Divine Format to Li Wei.

Her Divine Body was gone as well.

Her current form was an ordinary spider’s body, created by Li Wei using Natural Divine Power.

All that Rose had retained was her consciousness.

She had lost all her Power.

Li Wei was willing to spare her life only because Rose had made him an offer that piqued his interest.

Two streaks of light, like reverse meteors, shot toward the source of the supernova.

They were two Divine Formats.

Li Wei grabbed the two Divine Formats, and a thirteen-colored Divine Fire ignited in his palm.

The thirteenth color was Rose’s purple.

With a tight squeeze of his hand, the two Divine Formats shattered, rapidly burning to nothingness within the Divine Fire.

He now held the two Authorities of Law from the Underworld.

His Divine Fire now flickered with a fourteenth and fifteenth color.

Li Wei had chosen the path to godhood of burning everything to achieve ultimate sublimation.

His Divine Fire was born of conviction and possessed the Power to burn all things to ash.

This was also why Li Wei could use stars as fuel, burning them and converting them into Divine Power.

Divine Spirits and Divine Formats were also fuel.

Like the gods, Li Wei could also burn worlds to create Divine Power.

However, compared to burning worlds, he had better fuel.

After experiencing the supernova’s eruption, amidst the ultimate destruction, Li Wei comprehended the Elemental Birth and Destruction Law.

To be precise, he had comprehended the Element Destruction Law.

He had not yet comprehended the Element Creation Law.

However, as long as the progress bar for his comprehension had started, for Li Wei, grasping the true Elemental Birth and Destruction Law was only a matter of time.

[Elemental Birth and Destruction Law (Basic Level)] 5000/10000

The Sun had turned into a supernova and erupted completely.

This eruption process would continue for a very long time.

In the end, the Sun would form a neutron star with a diameter of less than ten kilometers, drifting through the silent Void.

A Death God in the darkness.

Any object that approached the neutron star would be torn apart by its powerful gravity.

If this Sun had been twenty times more massive, it would have ultimately become a black hole that devours everything.

Li Wei was relieved that after being detonated, the Sun would not eventually evolve into a black hole.

Otherwise, the Sky Dome World, not being very far away, would have been devoured by the black hole in the future, even if it managed to escape the clutches of the gods.

Li Wei left the still-erupting supernova.

He went to find a new Sun.

Li Wei extended his finger, slicing open a spatial rift and creating a passage.

He said to Rose, “It’s time to fulfill your promise.”

Rose protested, “You’ve taken all my Power. How can I possibly do what I promised you?”

“That’s your problem. I don’t care,” Li Wei said.

He tossed Rose into the passage and teleported to the nearest star.

His Divine Fire ignited the star, converting it into a steady stream of Divine Power.

To detonate the Sun, Li Wei had just expended ninety percent of his Divine Power.

He found a star to replenish his Divine Power.

He was preparing for what came next.

His next step would require a massive amount of Divine Power to achieve his goal.

Divine Power is the force that drives Law to change the world’s Rules.

If one wished to change the world’s fundamental Rules, an immense amount of Divine Power was needed to counteract the world’s original order of Rules.

It was a power capable of reshaping heaven and earth.

And what Li Wei was about to do was nothing less than that.

Before that, however, he first needed to fully comprehend the Elemental Birth and Destruction Law.

Li Wei fell silent deep within the Sun, accumulating Divine Power and comprehending the Law.

「Within the Sky Dome World.」

The month of perpetual daylight finally ended.

People rushed excitedly from their houses, singing and dancing in celebration of the disaster’s passing.

Li Wei stood on the balcony of the Mage Tower, looking down upon the singing and dancing residents of Maple City.

‘They can be happy for now.’

‘Later, there won’t be another chance to be this happy.’

‘In truth, he harbored his own doubts about the Magic Goddess’s plan.’

‘He couldn’t be one hundred percent certain it was viable.’

‘The World Will in the Magic Net… it’s time I set off to find it.’

Li Wei told Gu Sewei that he planned to enter the Magic Net.

Once inside the Magic Net, he might not have the mental focus to pay attention to the outside world.

Gu Sewei was a little surprised. She didn’t understand why Li Wei, who had already become a Demigod and possessed great Power comparable to a Divine Spirit, would still want to enter the Magic Net.

‘Isn’t the Magic Net something only weak Mages rely on?’

Though she didn’t understand, she would support whatever Li Wei did with all her might.

“Go on, don’t worry,” she said. “I’ll be waiting for you to come back.”
