Legion-4 found all of these hard to believe. He couldn’t help but ask incredulously, “Are you saying that we are the Absolutes above reality, maintaining all of these?”
Legion-6 sighed and said, “It is possible. Fortunately, there is a way to know. We just need to become Absolutes and see what we do with our power.”
Legion-9 snorted as he right, “But at that point it won’t matter to us if we are the Absolute maintaining all of these or another Absolute. What will matter is that we have finally become Absolutes and can fight the one that must not be named on equal footing.”
Legion-11 wondered aloud, saying, “I wonder, though. If we become Absolutes, why haven’t we defeated that great enemy from the future already?”
Legion-8 replied, “I think what we are experiencing is the past, and at this point in time, ANNIHILATION hasn’t been defeated yet. I believe that this is true because we are still existing. If ANNIHILATION had succeeded in erasing our existence in the future, we probably wouldn’t be existing in the past either.”
His answer was reasonable, but Legion-6 disagreed and said, “But Absolutes are Absolutes throughout all time and space. If we are Absolutes in the future, then we should be Absolutes in the past too.”
“So if we have become Absolutes in the future, we should be an Absolute right now. The only reason I can think of for us not being Absolutes right now is that we never become Absolutes in the future.”
Legion-10 also disagreed with Legion-6, so he said, “But we might be the Absolute maintaining all of these. If that is true, then we are actually Absolutes in the future and past. It is just that an Absolute exists at the same time as their past selves unlike us who only one of us can exist at one time in a timeline.”
Some clones agreed with him, while some other clones disagreed with him, so the two sides began to argue. But there were some clones like Legion-6 who were in the middle and didn’t pick any side.
Legion-6 in particular sighed and said, “I already said that the way to know for sure and settle this argument is to become an Absolute. Once we become Absolutes, everything will become clear.”
