Chapter 2614: Face Reveal.

The god of knowledge said smugly, “Still, the ultimate goal of this virtual mental world is to fuse our minds together. The way to do that is to fight to the death and kill each other. The last one standing between the two of us will be the dominant personality that will dictate the final product of the fusion of our minds.”

This made Legion say to themselves, “I knew that there was something fishy about this world. But why is it dangerous to us, though? Shouldn’t the only one who should be in danger be the god of history?”

As they were wondering to themselves, the god of knowledge laughed at the god of history as he said, “Do you remember what I said early before we started fighting?”

The god of history replied, “You said that I was right about something, but wrong about a whole lot of things.”

The giant white tower hummed in satisfaction and said, “Excellent. By now, you should know what you’re right and wrong about.”

“But if you don’t know, I’ll tell you. Don’t worry about paying me later. I’m this generous normally.”

The giant white tower chuckled and said, “You were right to think that we had to fight. But you were wrong to think that any one of us could come out of this intact. There will be no losers and only a slight loser. No matter the outcome of this fight, it must end in the fusion of our minds.”

The fight was still going on as he spoke. The god of knowledge was still bombarding the minds of everyone with knowledge, while the god of history was still bombarding the god of knowledge with his Laser Eyes divine ability.

But the god of history, who was enthusiastic about killing the god of knowledge, was no longer interested in fighting. His highest priority now is how to escape from this virtual world. He doesn’t really want to fuse with the god of knowledge.

The god of knowledge noticed his hesitation and said, “What’s the matter? Don’t you like my creation anymore? Weren’t you impressed when I presented it to you? Didn’t you agree to fuse your mind with mine? Why are you hesitating now?”

The god of history became immensely angry when he heard the god of knowledge teasing him. His face scrunched up, and his many eyes blazed even brighter because of his fury.

He shouted at the god of knowledge, saying, “You bastard. Stop pretending that you can’t see. This virtual world is connected with your mind, so you should be able to see without your eyes.”

He was very angry because not only had the god of knowledge fooled him into fusing their minds, but also because the god of knowledge was still pretending that he couldn’t see now, even though he should be able to.

To this, the god of knowledge chuckled and said, “No cheating is allowed here. This world must behave exactly how the real world behaves. Anyone who cheats will lose part of themselves forever.”

“The part that cheats gets rejected by this world. That part will die in the real world if they cheat. So only those who want to die faster will cheat.”

The god of history snorted in anger. But he still didn’t give up on trying to find a way to escape.

In order to escape, he decided to overload this world. So he used his Heavenly Eye divine ability to fill the whole world with his eyes.

This caused every inch of space to grow an eye. Even the body of the summons and the body of the god of knowledge also began to grow eyes.

When this move didn’t work, and the world didn’t break, he used Laser Eyes divine ability to convert every eye into a weapon. This caused the whole world to light up with fire.

When the world had settled, everyone was injured. They were only slightly injured because the god of history hadn’t been targeting them and had directed most of the power of the attack against the world. But even then, the virtual world was still intact.

This made the god of knowledge laugh and say, “Give up and accept your fate. We shall become one. No, we must become one.”

The god of history didn’t listen to him and kept finding ways to destroy this world. So he said to his summons, “Please help me find his true body and destroy it.”

The god of knowledge said, “That won’t solve the problem. It will only quicken our fusion.”

“You should be able to tell by now that death will only cause my mind to become free of my body and fuse completely with this world. Once I die, the virtual world will have no choice but to fuse with your mind.”

The god of history and seers didn’t want to believe the god of history. But as the fight progressed, he realized that this was true.

He realized that he was winning the fight and slowly killing the god of knowledge, but he was slowly losing the war because once he defeated the god of knowledge, he too would cease to exist.

This could be seen from the fact that everything he had done and said had left a mark in this mental world. The same is for the god of knowledge. So he can confirm that the final product will be a product of the two of them.

The main issue here is that he doesn’t trust the god of knowledge. He doesn’t believe that the god of knowledge didn’t leave a backdoor in this virtual world that will favor himself.

He doesn’t think that the god of knowledge, who is always proud of his intelligence, will allow himself to die completely and become just a part of a fused product.

He is more willing to believe that this is all a scheme by the god of knowledge to devour him. So he doesn’t want to fuse with this virtual world at all.
