Chapter 2542: End Of The Road.

The story of how the god of illusion met the killer of the god of dreams and avenged the death of the god of dreams eventually got to the half god of dreams. It filled him with joy to know that the god of illusion had begun to make a move against Legion.

He thought to himself excitedly, “Fight. Fight and kill yourself.”

He still remembers the terror of the stories of the god of illusions. As long as people believe in them, they will come true in one way or another.

He has suffered many defeats at the hands of the god of illusions because of them. Those stories are the main reasons why he never leaves the dream realm.

The only way to escape the influence of the dreams is to wait them out. As long as people forget about a story, the power of the story will wane, and it will return to being a work of fiction.

But as long as the god of illusions is investing energy and time to popularize the story, Legion will be doomed. This thought filled him with happiness.

Another thing that filled him with happiness is the fact that his host is getting closer to the headquarters of the vault of gold. He came here because this is the only place he can encounter someone close to the god of merchants.

He doesn’t hope to meet the god of merchants directly. But a subordinate god will be good enough for him.

However, as he got close to the headquarters, he walked headfirst into a wall of webs. The webs were invisible until the host walked into them. Once the webs ensnared the host, they took control of his body and redirected him away from the vault of gold.

The half god of dreams knew that he was in big trouble. Unfortunately, he couldn’t do anything to change the situation. He couldn’t even escape. This is because he didn’t have any divine ability to use to escape.

He has lost the divine abilities of the pathway of dreams when he escaped alone. This is why he couldn’t force his host to sleep and had to wait until they slept at night before he could influence their dream.

Right now, he can’t see dreams anymore and can’t use the Dream Surfing divine ability to change his host. He could only watch helplessly as his host was controlled like a puppet into a building and down to the basement.

In that basement, he saw his divine body. The divine body said to him, “You could find me. So you should have expected that I would find you, too.”

The divine body smiled as the man said, “The pathway of fate is too strong. It has led you to the end of the road.”

Legion has gained the memories of the god of dreams, so they knew how he found them earlier. They learned from that experience and used the Predict divine ability of the pathway of fate together with the divine body in their possession to find the escaped soul.

The delay in finding him was caused by the fact that the Predict divine ability was usually pointing to a location in the dream realm. By the time they got to that location, the god of dreams would have gone.

It was only in brief moments that the Predict divine ability pointed to somewhere in the physical dimension. But it didn’t give them anything specific, which was why they laid a trap of webs around the entire city.

The god of dreams knew that he was doomed. So he cursed at the divine body and said, “Fuck you. I curse you to die. You will die a miserable death.”

“The god of illusion won’t let you go. Enjoy your limited time living for now because you will join me in death soon.”

The divine body snorted and wrapped up the host with the web. Then they carried the body and left with it. The body of the host of the half god of dreams couldn’t enter the dream realm, so the divine body had to take him through the physical dimension.

As they did so, a subordinate god of the god of merchants was in the air watching them leave. The value of the divine body was clear to this subordinate god, so he knew who it used to belong to and who it now belongs to.

After using the rank 1 Evaluation divine ability and the rank 2 Identify divine ability on the divine body, a voice within the mind of the subordinate god said, “So the god of dreams had really fallen. How tragic.”

The subordinate god asked, “Should I intercept them, mistress? They did create an obstacle that blocked the flow of traffic into the city and disrupted our business.”

The voice replied, “No need. You can’t defeat them in your own. The only way to gain any benefit from this is if I come out to fight directly. I don’t want to do that and risk myself for someone I don’t have to be enemies with.”

The subordinate god said, “As you wish, mistress.”

Legion let the divine body wander for a while. They didn’t let it meet them because they didn’t want someone to follow it and find them.

Besides, they didn’t need to eat the divine body and the escaped soul yet. What they needed now was peace and quiet, and they advanced to become the god of the pathway of telepathy.

They have finally reached 100% fusion with the Mind Palace. What they need to do next is to come together and advance as one entity.

In order to do this in peace, they went to the spiritual dimension. They chose to advance in the spiritual dimension because it is usually desolate there, and the disturbance created from their advancement will be unlikely to be noticed in the spiritual dimension.

They were sure that there would be a disturbance during their advancement because they learned it from the memory of the god of dreams that advancing to the level of a god will definitely create a disturbance.
