Chapter 2529: Egg And Shell.

After focusing on the Mind Palace, they realized that the Mind Palace was like an egg, and what they had been fusing with all along was its shell.

From another perspective, they are not fusing with the egg, but are digesting it as if they were a snake. Unfortunately, the shell is standing in the way of getting access to the sweet and nutritious yolk within the egg.

This is why they can only borrow the ultimate ability of the Mind Palace for now, or block access of other telepaths to the ultimate ability, and why it hasn’t enhanced their power in any other way. It is also why, even though they can borrow the ultimate divine ability, they can’t master it more than 0%.

Their mastery of their ultimate ability has always been stuck at 0%. They can tell now that they would be able to gain mastery of the ultimate ability and gain raw power from the Mind Palace once they fuse completely with the shell.

They switched their focus to the other two authorities within them and were able to confirm the same thing. They were also able to learn the ritual to request divine fragments from the authorities and the feat needed to impress them.

The more they saw and learned, the more impressed they were.

Legion-1 even said, “This must be how mages were able to find out the advancement requirement and the rituals of every pathway. The way they see the world is so different.”

Their ability to process information has increased. But it is more like their minds shifted so they can perceive previously obscure information and even fill in the gaps of information that is missing about something.

It is how every godclad can learn and use the Power Assessment technique with their spiritual energy, but only a few godclads can truly understand all of the information that this spiritual technique will provide them about the state of their existence.

The Cognitive Adaptation divine ability makes their mind open to all sorts of information. This is still not as impressive as possessing the aspect of Wisdom or the aspect of Knowledge. But it is better than nothing. The way they see the world now makes them glad to have it.

However, the most important usefulness of the Cognitive Adaptation divine ability is still against external influence and mental attacks. Thanks to it, they are sure that they are nearly immune to external mental influence.

Unlike their other rank 10 divine abilities, which require some time or even death to take effect and build resistance and immunity, the Cognitive Adaptation divine ability can gain immunity to mental attacks in an instant because the mind is easier to change and modify than the body.

They understand this effect of the Cognitive Adaptation divine ability intuitively. Unfortunately, there are no enemies for them to try it on. So they can only use the Cognitive Adaptation divine ability to learn more about the world while waiting for the existence to finally fuse with the shell of the Mind Palace.

They have already reached 50% fusion with the shell of the Mind Palace, so all they have to wait for to complete the fusion is 11.5 days. Once they become a god, the first thing they will do is see how well the Cognitive Adaptation divine ability will help them in mastering the ultimate divine ability.

While they were hiding and waiting, the god of dreams was still looking for them. This god refused to give up on finding them because they are related to him, growing stronger.

He has reached the limit of how much power he can take from the authority of the pathway of dreams. His options to grow stronger are to eat a divine being like a godling, or start a religion and use faith to balance the stress of the authority, or get another authority to enhance himself with.

He has eaten all the godlings that he can eat. What he ate was enough to help reach his limit of 30,720 raw power. He could have targeted other gods instead of godlings, but he didn’t dare go to fight a god because it would put him at risk of being eaten.

The limit of raw power is the number of souls multiplied by 10,240. So his limit is that low because he became a god with just 3 souls. The number of souls he has is also limiting how much divine power he can safely contain from his authority before he loses control.

Right now, he has no choice but to use faith to bolster his existence and make him capable of taking on more power, or get another authority to enhance himself with.

But using faith to bolster his existence can only double his capacity for divine power before he is overwhelmed by faith and turned into a puppet for his believers. Since the number of souls he has is so small, it isn’t worth it for him to accept the weakness of faith.

As a god, he is already weak. If he decides to rely on faith and someone uses that against him, it will be easier for him to lose control because he only has the barest minimum number of souls to keep hold of his pathway.

So the safest option is to get another source of divine power. This is especially the case since his competitor for the Mind Palace is just an angel. It should be very easy for him to snatch the Mind Palace. Unfortunately, he can’t find the angel in question.

No matter how desperate he is, desperation can’t help him find a trace of Legion. This didn’t surprise him because Legion is a telepath, and a telepath can go anywhere.

So rather than go on a wild goose chase looking for the angel of telepathy, he went looking for someone who could help him find Legion. In order to find Legion, he went in search of the god of seers and the god of fate.
