GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2466: Angel Fight Back.

Chapter 2466: Angel Fight Back.

The lack of divine power is also why Legion was scheming against the angel of slavery as a demigod. If they were fighting the main body of the angel of slavery, they would have reasons to be afraid.

A ninefold enhancement is a big reason not to fight an angel. But fighting the slave of an angel of slavery is not much of a problem because those slaves won’t have divine power even if they are enhanced by the Chain of Command divine ability.

So not only will other angels be able to easily deal with angels without divine power, but even demigods won’t mind having a go at an angel without divine power. This shows the great importance of divine power to angels.

Aside from the increase to the power of their body, their spiritual power, and the addition of divine power, they also have the increase to their spiritual energy and life energy to show for their advancement to rank 9.

Their spiritual energy increased from 28,800 units when they had one rank 8 pathway and three rank 7 pathways to 57,600 units after they advanced to rank 9 in one pathway and rank 8 in their other three pathways.

Their capacity of life energy also increased from 3,200 units to 6,400 units. So their life energy has doubled.

In comparison, other angels with one pathway will have a spiritual energy capacity of 23,040 units. This is from 2,560 units of spiritual energy being stored in the six divine flesh in their bodies and in their three souls.

The life energy capacity of the bodies of angels will still be 2,560 units, though. So in their current state, they have 2.5 times as much spiritual energy and 2.5 times as much life energy as their peers.

But this is just the beginning for them. When all four of their pathways advance to rank 9, they should have as much as four times the spiritual energy and life energy as their peers.

Once they achieve rank 9 in all four of their pathways, they will begin to work towards becoming gods or becoming godlings. That is something to look forward to.

Another thing to look forward to is gaining three more rank 9 divine abilities. Especially the rank 9 divine ability of the pathway of killing called Blood Sacrifice. With such a divine ability, they won’t mind taking a crack at a god.

While Legion was reveling in their power, the demigod telepaths in the Mind Palace were fighting a losing battle. The angel of telepathy was giving it his all, eroding the Mind Palace, and there was nothing they could do to stop him.

The ultimate goal of the battle in the Mind Palace is to erode 51% of it. Once an angel of telepathy gains control of 51% of the authority of the pathway, they will become the temporary owner of the Mind Palace and can make the attempt to become the god of the pathway.

In the past, this goal was impossible to achieve because the competitors weren’t eliminated permanently, so the fight for control was never going to be won.

Eliminated competitors could always return to hinder progress, so even an angel was stumped. But things have changed now that Legion eliminated half of the competition and refused to join the battle to resist the angel.

In the absence of half of the resistance, the angel was able to make progress despite being ganged up on by everyone else. He managed to gain control of 30% even though the demigods did the best they could do.

However, the angel of telepathy had to stop here because he didn’t have the spiritual energy to continue.

The angel couldn’t be defeated and sent packing, but that didn’t mean that resisting the combined might of 15 demigods was easy.

In a normal situation, it costs a lot of spiritual energy to use the Mind Plague divine ability. So it cost even more to use the Mind Plague divine ability to resist 15 demigods while eroding the Mind Palace.

Even though the angel had been drinking energy water to replenish his spiritual energy, he still had to take a rest because of the strain on his soul. This is why he had to stop after gaining control of 30% of the Mind Palace.

Once the angel has rested, he will return and claim the remaining 21% he needs to gain control of the Mind Palace.

The demigods aren’t going to just let him rest, though. They took this opportunity to pressure him and erode part of his territory in the Mind Palace. This slowly set back his progress.

But the angel wasn’t worried too much. He stood his ground and resisted their erosion.

He didn’t put in too much effort, though. His goal was just to prevent them from setting back his progress to 21%.

As long as his progress is 21% or higher, once he rests, he will be able to come back and erode the extra 30% that he needs.

Even if the demigods manage to set back his progress beyond 21%, as long as they don’t eliminate his progress completely and set him back to 0%, he will always be able to return to make more progress.

As long as each of his attempts yields progress, he will eventually be able to achieve the ultimate goal of gaining control of the Mind Palace.

He made this clear as he gloated to the demigod, “Enjoy your temporary reprieve. I will return, and I will defeat you. Once I defeat all of you, I will kick you out of the Mind Palace.”

Right now, anyone can borrow the power of the Mind Palace as long as they have the virtual flesh. But if the Mind Palace gains an owner, even if that owner is temporary, the owner will be able to block everyone from borrowing the power of the Mind Palace and will be able to hoard all of that power for their use.
