GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2459: Mental Battlefield.

Chapter 2459: Mental Battlefield.

This method to erode the Mind Palace with the Mind Plague divine ability is a secret and alternative method that telepaths have discovered to have the potential to help them gain control of the Mind Palace. Some demigods don’t even know about it, much less Legends.

Of course, despite being secretive about it, no one has succeeded in it. This is because other telepaths block the progress of anyone trying to take control of the Mind Palace through his method.

Every demigod implants their Mind Plague into the virtual flesh and uses it to attack the Mind Palace. The eroded part automatically falls under the control of the telepath, so this method is a faster way to gain control of the Mind Palace instead of accumulating virtual flesh.

The problem with this method is that once other telepaths see someone else making progress, they will gang up on them to stall them and destroy their progress. This has caused a mental war to ensue between telepaths, and the battlefield is the Mind Palace.

On the battlefield, the angels of telepathy have the advantage because they have more powerful spiritual power, more spiritual energy, and even an extra divine ability to assist them in the war.

But Legion is confident in competing with the angels of telepathy on this battlefield because they too have a lot of spiritual energy, they have three minds to help them attack from three points, and they also possess the Invisibility Shield divine ability.

Actually, the Invisibility Shield divine ability is what they are relying on mostly for this endeavor. They are not sure it will work since the battlefield is in the Mind Palace and the targets are telepaths who are very good at protecting their minds from external influence.

But they don’t believe that they have anything to lose, so they decided to try it. They also have a lot to gain if the Invisibility Shield divine ability works, so if they don’t receive any warning of danger about the attempt, they will go ahead with it.

They were being careful, so they used the Predict divine ability on the virtual flesh before using their Mind Plague divine ability to attack it. They didn’t sense anything, so they went ahead with it.

The point of attack that they used was the virtual copy. They didn’t attack the virtual flesh directly with the Mind Plague but instead placed their Mind Domination in it first in order to make the virtual flesh a more concrete part of their existence so that it becomes more likely for the Invisibility Shield divine ability to hide what it is doing.

They also sent the virtual flesh into the headquarters in their place to test it. When they saw that no one had noticed the presence of the virtual, they grinned and initiated the attack.

Once the Mind Plague was released, there was no special sign of it. There was no halo that indicated that it had activated like the Mind Domination divine ability does.

Everything was just silent. The only change that they could perceive was that their Mind Plague had made contact with a large cubic object somewhere in the unknown.

Their Mind Plague was tiny compared to the cube, and it was also being pressed on all sides by other Mind Plagues. All of these Mind Plagues were smashing into each other and destroying one another.

The entire battlefield was a chaotic scene of mental fluctuations. The overall situation was a stalemate, and no one was winning.

It was a free-for-all that no one was dying from. Even if a demigod failed, they could always try again as long as they don’t die. This means that this fight can be endless.

The only way to eliminate a competitor is to focus on their mind plague, overwhelm it, and use it to trace back the mind of the source of the mind plague, and then attack that source.

If the source of the Mind Plague is destroyed, then the competitor will be eliminated permanently. Unfortunately, this rarely happens because demigods are very good at defending their minds from mental attacks.

Legion’s mind plague was a tiny inconsequential part of this large chaotic situation. So they expected to be easily crushed.

In fact, there were already plans for when they are crushed. They plan to create as many virtual copies as possible and use them to attack the Mind Palace together.

They don’t think anyone can match them in terms of point of attack because they have three consciousnesses, so they have three times as many chances for attacking.

But as things would turn out, they didn’t need to use their backup plan because no one noticed them.

That wasn’t exactly true. The people around them surely noticed them. Legion was sure of this because the Invisibility Shield divine ability had begun to consume more spiritual energy to maintain itself.

So they were noticed, but these demigods just ignored them and decided not to attack them. Far from feeling belittled, Lgion was very grateful for being ignored.

They didn’t let this kindness of their peers go to waste either. They immediately launched an attack after confirming that the Invisibility Shield divine ability was working.

The target of their attack was the demigods around them. They sought to eliminate them because they can’t win as long as their competitors can always return.

They also wanted to eliminate their competitors one by one so that there would be fewer people to witness what they were doing, which would reduce the burden on the Invisibility Shield divine ability and reduce the consumption of spiritual energy by it.

After all, the fewer people that are aware of what they are doing, the easier it will be for them to remain hidden. So they picked those who had noticed them and began eliminating them one by one.

The best part of this decision was that the person that they were attacking didn’t even react to their attack. He didn’t try to defend or counterattack at all.
