GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2411: Thief Stalkers.

Chapter 2411: Thief Stalkers.

The next slave to arrive was their thief and rule breaker. He was the one that Legion was most excited to meet.

But just as the thief arrived in the town that they were in, Legion felt that danger was approaching. They were in the form of a large ball of worms, but they began receiving a warning from the rank 6 divine ability of the pathway of undying called Danger Sense.

The danger they were sensing was significant, but it wasn’t overwhelming. So they decided to stand and fight.

The first thing they did was to move outside of the town. They went with their legendary slave and even prepared an exit strategy.

They left the town so that the upcoming fight won’t lead to the deaths of the inhabitants of the two. They didn’t leave the town because they cared about the lives of people. In fact, the death of so many people will help them to advance the requirements of the pathway of killing.

But they don’t want so many people to die because it will alert the true owner of this kingdom to their presence. They are not ready for a confrontation with the angel of slavery yet, so they don’t want to alert her.

They left the town together with their legendary noble slave. This way they would have a capable helper that can at least serve as a meat shield for them.

After they left the town, they made their legendary noble hide. Then they waited to see who it was that was coming after them.

They waited five minutes before anything happened. First, their chief slave arrived. It was until they met with the thief that the two legends that had been following him appeared.

The people that appeared were one female and one male. They were the legendary noble of Reinfield City and the legendary warrior that was guarding the spring of life that they stole.

Legion didn’t recognize the legendary warrior, as they had never seen him, but they recognized the legendary noble. As soon as they saw the female legendary noble, they were able to figure out that the two of them had come for revenge.

The legendary warrior’s eyes lit up when he saw them. He said with a voice brimming with anger, “You must be the legendary undying that stole my spring of life and the energy water of Reinfield City.”

He didn’t ask if Legion was an undying godclad. He wasn’t even sure that they were an undying godclad, but at this point, he didn’t care about what their identity was.

As long as anyone is working with the thief that they have been tracking, that person is his enemy. So Legion’s identity doesn’t matter much now. Even if they are completely innocent, the warrior will still use them to pay for the theft.

The female legendary noble’s reaction was the opposite of the warrior’s. Instead of showing anger, she smiled at Legion.

Her tone was cordial as she said, “You have offended a lot of people. A lot of those people want you dead. I can help you as long as you are willing to become my vassal.”

“You will still have to work off your debts. But as long as you become my vassal, I will protect you and you will live. So what will it be?”

Legion sneered and said, “So the play is good cop, bad cop. The performance is not bad, but too bad for you that I am difficult to fool.”

While they were saying so, they had already liberated their divine form. Their body began to melt into blood, and they were bleeding all over until their figure became a bloody humanoid figure.

The bloody humanoid figure they became had two bright golden eyes, two black horns on their head, and no nose and ears. They had a large, wide maw on their face that was full of black teeth.

The divine form that they had liberated into was the divine beast form of the pathway of killing. They chose it because it was the divine beast form that was the best for killing.

The two legends were shocked by Legion’s reaction. They were so shocked that they took a step back in fear. So not only were they shocked, they were also afraid. The source of ths content is novel✦fire.net

One of the reasons for their reaction being so intense was because they didn’t expect Legion to liberate his divine form so quickly.

After all, they were just talking right now. There had been no violence, so there was no need for Legion to put their lives on the line just like that.

The second reason, and perhaps the main reason why they felt fear, was that Legion had liberated the divine beast form of the pathway of killing, not the pathway of undying like they expected.

If Legion had changed into a giant white horned rhino, they wouldn’t feel so much fear. They would accept that it would be tricky to kill him, but they would have very little reason to fear for their own lives.

But Legion had transformed into a small humanoid being made entirely of blood. This caused their instincts to warn them of danger.

The warrior with the rank 2 Martial Instinct divine ability was the one who felt the danger most intensely. He tried to diffuse the situation by saying, “Calm down, friend. I think there might be a mistake here. We are looking for an undying godclad, not a killer.”

He didn’t say that just to stop the fight before it began. He truly didn’t think that Legion was the person they were looking for.

Since Legion had transformed into the divine beast form of a killer, either he had two pathways that had reached the legendary rank or this was a case of mistaken identity. He would rather believe the latter, as it was the more plausible and safer option.

But the legendary noble couldn’t entertain the idea of mistaken identity because she had seen Legion before and knew that he was the one who stole the energy spring of their city.
