Chapter 2377: Sealed And Imprisoned.

To the legendary noble, not one of the two options were palatable or favorable. Both could have devastating outcomes for him.

But to be honest, if Legion had stepped back and given him a chance to surrender, he would have considered doing so. After all, he didn’t want to die.

However, Legion wasn’t going to give him the opportunity to surrender. To them, his opinion didn’t matter. If they wanted something, they were going to get it and it wouldn’t matter if he were fine with it or not.

So after he ran out of spiritual energy, Legion used their Imprison divine ability on him. Phantom black chains sprouted from their hands and bound the blue peacock up.

The black chains that sprouted from their hand were numerous and spiked. After binding the blue peacock, they sank into its body and disappeared.

Because of the lack of spiritual energy in his body, the first effect of the Imprison divine ability took effect immediately. The blue peacock became completely immobile.

The body of the legendary noble seized up. But this was just the start of his nightmare.

The black chains also began absorbing the spiritual energy of their captive. As his three souls were recovering spiritual energy, the black chains were siphoning them and growing stronger.

The effect of growing stronger was the second effect of the Imprison divine ability. This is why the divine ability only needed to be used once and could maintain itself indefinitely.

Legion could let the black chains grow stronger slowly, but they didn’t have the time to waste on that. The fight between the tiger and the demigod noble had already been determined, so they had to escape quickly.

In order to speed up the effect of the black chains, they input their own spiritual energy into it to help it grow stronger. Unlike the stingy noble, they were very generous with their spiritual energy.

The black chains became thicker and stronger. This meant that they had become more difficult to break. It also meant that they could absorb more spiritual energy quickly and grow stronger faster.

Once the black chains reached a level of strength where they were absorbing more spiritual energy than the legendary noble could recover on his own, his fate became doomed.

It was as if an important threshold had been breached. This was true.

By overcoming the natural recovery rate of the target, it became impossible for the target to escape ever again. It also became impossible for them to use any divine ability.

Because of this, the connection between the souls of the legendary noble and his divine abilities and divine flesh became severed. So he was forcefully brought out of his liberation form.

The legendary noble shifted back to his humanoid form. The only difference was that there were black tattoos of spiked chains all over his body.

Now he had become incapable of choosing between fighting to the death or surrendering. He couldn’t move or even speak. He had become blind and deaf.

His divine flesh wasn’t the only thing that was severed from his soul. His body was also severed, so he lost his senses together with the control of his body.

His world became a world of darkness. The only thing he could feel was pain as the chains began constricting his three souls.

This was the effect of the Imprison divine ability. Legion was very satisfied with it.

They said, “It was worth it to eat all those godclads on the domination pathways.”

They then grabbed the incapacitated noble and returned to their gateway. They input spiritual energy into the gateway and left through the opening.

After they left, the gateway dimmed and stopped working. Legion had destroyed the other end of the gateway.

They would have liked to keep the gateway working so that their slaves would be able to use it to escape, but they were not going to take any chances.

The enemies they were escaping from were just too strong to risk being greedy. Their slaves are valuable, but the lives of their slaves are not as valuable as their own life.

Meanwhile, the battle in Reinfield was still going on. But this time, it was between a tiger and a humanoid plant.

The demigod noble had been torn to pieces. Reinfield City had been utterly and completely destroyed. Most of its inhabitants, including the legends, had died.

The tragic end of Reinfield was so thorough that the two avatars were still reinforcing the total destruction by cratering the ground and leveling it.

A place that used to have buildings and roads now looked like a desert. Everything that used to be in the city had been turned to dust and sand.

There were still some foundations hidden beneath the ground. But even those aren’t safe. If any of them survive, they will be the only signs that a city used to be there.

This was just the power of the individual avatars of an angel. Each avatar lacked the boost from the liberation of their divine form. All they had to fight with were some divine abilities and the spiritual power of a single soul. Yet, so many people had died.

Even the high and mighty nobles weren’t spared from death. Of the one demigod and six legendary nobles of Reinfield City, only three legends remain alive now.

Only three legends survived, and they were mostly lucky to do so. One of them was the one who went to the royal capital to petition the royal family to help them deal with the angel of killing.

The second legend was a lucky one who managed to slip away while the tiger and the demigod peacock were battling.

This legendary noble was a woman. She had witnessed the events that led to the destruction of the city, so she knew that an undying godclad had a part to play in the tragedy that befell her city.

She went to the capital armed with this information and a large amount of anger. Her goal was to find the undying godclad and make him pay for his sins.
