Chapter 2376: Fatal Weakness.
Since the noble couldn’t use his domain or other divine abilities on Legion, he got creative by using his divine abilities in ways that Legion couldn’t block.
Not only did the legendary noble enhance his physical power and speed, but he also enhanced his defense with his domain. He had literally made himself immune to every kind of attack and injury with his domain.
Thanks to his domain divine ability, he had gained the defense of an undying, the speed of a traveler, and the strength of a giant. All it cost was a lot of spiritual energy.
He also spent spiritual energy to turn the ground muddy to make Legion slip and made the air solidify into a wall to slow down Legion. This was done to obstruct Legion from reaching him and impaling him with that white horn.
He was enhancing himself with the power of his domain and also using the world as a weapon against Legion. It felt as if he lacked weaknesses and could create a solution to every problem.
All of the enhancements to himself and obstructions to Legion helped him avoid the white horn. After avoiding it, he laughed and said, “You don’t know the kind of person you’re dealing with. Today you will learn, and then you will die.”
He felt full of confidence and pride. He was sure that he couldn’t lose at all.
The main difference between him and the other pathways that he copied with his domain divine ability was the lack of supporting divine abilities and endurance. For example, compared to an undying, he lacked the proper support and divine abilities to take a lot of beating.
Being able to block attacks is, after all, a single divine ability of undying godclads. They have other divine abilities that help them do that very well and cheaply too.
Despite his shortcomings, his overpowered domain divine ability would have been enough for him to secure victory if Legion were a normal legendary undying godclad who couldn’t use their other divine abilities in their divine beast form.
His all-around defense meant that only an overwhelming attack could breach his defense. Bar that, he would have to run out of spiritual energy before his defense could be breached.
Legion lacked the ability to create an overwhelming attack. In fact, despite having access to many divine abilities, most of them were useless against the noble currently because of the defense granted by his domain.
This left them with only one way to breach his defense. In order to achieve his way, they created bloody limbs and made sure that all of them grabbed onto the blue peacock and tied him up.
They couldn’t hurt him, but they could restrict his movements and hold him down. The blood limbs tied up his neck, his two wings, his two legs, and even his torso. This way, the enhancement of speed and strength became nullified.
But there was more. A blood limb also stuffed itself into the blue peacock’s throat. This shut him up and prevented him from making more rules.
Silencing nobles is a good way to incapacitate their setting-rules divine ability. The domain divine ability is still active, and the enhancements it provided earlier are still present, but the noble can’t speak anymore, so he can’t make more rules.
Legion had taken advantage of a weakness of the nobles that many know but few can execute. This didn’t mean that the fight was over, though.
The blue peacock was still trying to resist. It was grinding away at the bloody limb in its beak in order to cut it off. But Legion wasn’t going to let it recover its advantage.
The legendary noble managed to cut off the bloody limb, but Legion tied up its beak with a blood limb. This ensured that it still couldn’t speak.
The blue peacock became tied up with bloody tails, which allowed Legion to get up close to the blue peacock. Then they began punching it with their fists.
Their fists and the bloody limbs were coated with the Sever divine ability. They were trying to exhaust the protective barrier around the noble so they could use brute force.
Things would have been easier if they could use their Death Mark divine ability. The explosion caused by that divine ability would have helped them overwhelm and crack the barrier with a single powerful attack.
Unfortunately, the prerequisite to use the Death Mark divine ability is to injure the enemy. If they can’t injure the enemy, then they can’t mark them for death.
There were many other divine abilities that they would have loved to use, such as Psychic Howl, Sensory Hijack, Whip, Bleed, Imprison, and Hypnotize. But the legendary noble had protected himself from all attacks. So the best they could do was to grind him to dust.
Fortunately, they still had many means to use brute force. All eight of their blood limbs were crushing the man and using the Sever divine ability on him. The Life Siphon divine ability was also still trained on him at full blast.
Together with the punches from their fists, they were attacking the legend with the pressure of 100 attacks per second. Even if his domain could reduce the spiritual cost of the impact of their attacks to 5%, it still meant that the legendary noble was receiving five full blows per second.
No matter how tough he is, his spiritual energy will eventually give out. That happened 24 seconds into the attack.
The noble panicked when he ran out of spiritual energy. He had two choices, one of which was to surrender, while the other was to fight to the bitter end.
If he decides to fight to the bitter end, his soul will become clouded by his divine flesh because of the absence of spiritual energy. Then he will lose his mind and lose control.
But if he surrenders, he will be at the mercy of Legion. To give up fighting means that if Legion is hell-bent on killing him, it would be easy to do.
