GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2373: Half Baked.

He is incomplete, but If he can defeat his avatars, he will regain control them and recover some of his power.

If he can defeat this tiger avatar, he will gain control over three avatars, not one because this tiger has already defeated two other avatars, so it is a package deal.

If he can take this one for three avatar and combine their power with the one avatar he already controls, he would gain control over five avatars out of the total nine.

Control over five avatars will put him ahead of the halfway point in his quest to regain total control of his power. This why he is hoping to take advantage of the fight, not help his avatar.

There really was no other way around his current situation. He had to make that deal with his divine flesh and couldn’t fool them because they had his memories after awakening.

Because of his memories, the deal had to be fair. The deal also had to enticing to his divine flesh or they wouldn’t have accepted it.

It was because of all of these complications that he became a half baked angel. If there is some consolation it is that most angels start out like him.

Modt angels are half baked when they first become angels and will remain so for a long time. Just like him, they have to do a lot of work to recover their full power.

So just like him, they would have stood back to watch a fight involving their avatar and hoped to take advantage of the fight. As complicated as it though, it is certainly exciting and interesting for him.

The more he watched the fight, the more excited he became. He said, “I should thank that undying godclad when next I see him. I will make him my blood puppet so that he can serve me forever.”

The Legion he was talking about was also dealing with issues of his own.

Legion was already trying to escape before the tiger appeared. They had begun to escape as soon as they threw the cursed vessel and initiated the loss of control in the demigod.

So while everyone was distracted by what was going on with the demigod and was later surprised by the sudden appearance of the tiger, Legion had already reached the gateway within the barrier.

They didn’t intend to rely on the barrier for safety at all. There was an angel of death and a demigod nearby, both of which are capable of breaching the barrier shield, so they only thought about escaping.

Fortunately, they had already prepared a means to escape. There was already a gateway waiting for them within the barrier.

They were a little reluctant to leave Reinfield now, but they didn’t want to stick around for anything in this situation. Besides, they had already killed 1 million people and had met the requirement to advance to rank 7 of the pathway of killing.

So they entered the gateway immediately. Two of their slaves were able to escape with them.

The third one, which was Black Axe, succumbed to the spiritual impact of the tiger and began losing control. Legion couldn’t stop him from losing control, so they let him go.

He wasn’t the only one of their slaves to lose control. Their knight and farmer, their dreamer and gambler, and their death walker all lost control and began to mutate.

The reason the knight lost control was because he was connected to the four rank 6 beasts when the spiritual impact came. So he shared the spiritual impact with the four beasts and received a higher dose of the spiritual impact, which led to his loss of control.

This reason also is similar to the reason the other two lost control. The other two slaves received more spiritual impact than normal.

The dreamer had infected the dreams of many people and was using their dreams to kill them. But his connection to the dreams of others backfired when the spiritual impact of the tiger arrived.

The spiritual impact of the tiger entered their dreams and combined on him from the various sources. This quickly overwhelmed him and made him lose control.

The same thing happened to the death walker. The difference is that the extra spiritual impact came from her undead.

She had a lot of undead under her spiritual control. When the tiger appeared, all of that spiritual control backfired in a great way. She lost control instantly and began to mutate.

Black Axe had seen the mutation of his sister, which made him also succumb to the spiritual impact. On its own, the spiritual impact wasn’t enough to make him lose control because Legion was controlling him. But the sight of his sister dying made something in his mind break.

Legion lost four slaves, but they were able to escape to the edge of the outer city. All they needed to do to escape completely was to reach the second gateway that they had prepared here.

This second gateway will lead them to a location far away from the city. Unfortunately, there was someone who wasn’t willing to let that happen.

The legendary noble had seen them escape with the first gateway. He rushed after them to use the first gateway to escape too. But that didn’t work because Legion had disabled the gateway.

There was no way they would leave a shortcut that led to their position working. Legion wasn’t targeting the legendary noble in particular. They were just being cautious. But the noble took offense just the same.

The legendary noble became angry when the gateway didn’t open. He wanted to roar in anger, but he thought better of it because of the circumstances he was in.

He didn’t want to draw attention to himself by roaring. Especially not when there were two dangerous beings around him.

But he wasn’t just going to let Legion go for being selfish. He ordered silently, “Gateways are banned from working in this city.”
