Chapter 2311: Recruitment And A Promise.

What Sir Kris wanted was someone he could recover the money he gave his son from and someone he could force to compensate him for the death of his son. He wouldn’t gain anything tangible by killing his son’s killer, so he was never interested in doing that.

Now that it was discovered that his son’s killer was dead, he had lost his chance of gaining anything. This made him angrier.

Meanwhile, the outer city was in a sort of uproar. The uproar was because Black Axe had advanced to rank 5 and was also recruiting people. This was a sign that he was getting ready to expand his territory.

Many people tried to convince and pressure Black Axe not to challenge anyone. Black Axe refused everyone. He looked ready to fight and defeat his neighbors at any moment.

Not only Black Axe, but even the noble supporting Black Axe refused to back down. The noble decided to support the Black and White gang in their plans to expand. This was so that he could win the game.

This behavior divided the outer city and made the gang leaders stop focusing on the Golden Hammer gang. It also helped that the Golden Hammer gang had been lying low for a while now.

It has been a month since the Golden Hammer gang began recruiting people. But they haven’t done anything yet. At least, not on the surface. It appeared that they had been cowed by the leader of the Light Temple gang’s willingness to give up their power in exchange for security.

They made a ruckus demanding to search the base of the Golden Hammer gang for the missing people, and they also dissuaded anyone who would join by telling them that the Golden Hammer gang was killing people.

Most of what they said was true, but they didn’t know that. They were only saying it to slander the Golden Hammer gang in order to pressure them and prevent them from recruiting more people.

Golden Hammer refused to allow anyone to search their base. He claimed that their enemies were making up stuff in order to besmirch them.

People couldn’t decide if the Golden Hammer gang was actually killing people because what Golden Hammer said was reasonable. It was reasonable that their enemies would say bad things about them. But very few people were willing to risk their lives after they heard that the Golden Hammer gang might be killing people.

So the Golden Hammer gang stopped getting recruits. In order to fix this problem, Legion let Black Axe recruit for them.

Their need for people is also why the leader of the Light Temple gang made all those promises. Her promises were a trap and a means to give a logical explanation for why the rank 3 members of her gang were disappearing en masse.

No one actually knows how many people are in the Golden Hammer gang. No one also knows how many people they actually recruited.

No one knows these things because the Golden Hammer gang doesn’t report their actions to anyone. They keep their actions secret and have eliminated all the spies in the gang.
