Chapter 466: Chapter 330: Infiltrating the Factory Area, Humanity’s Lowest Point
This was a dirt slope directly facing the factory. Wu Liangchen sprinkled insect repellent around the area and turned to see Song Ling’er had already set up her sniper rifle.
"You keep watch here," Wu Liangchen instructed. "If anyone runs out, take them down if you can. If you can’t, that’s fine too. The most important thing is to keep yourself safe. Got it?"
"Mm!" Song Ling’er nodded seriously.
After her experience last time, Song Ling’er was no longer filled with apprehension. She even felt a sense of eager excitement.
Wu Liangchen smiled at this, then vanished into the sprawling weeds in a flash.
His speed was incredible; he reached the wire fence in the blink of an eye.
The entire fence was electrified, and a dense array of cameras was mounted on top. The security measures were, to say the least, severe.
But that was no obstacle for Wu Liangchen.
He moved like a shadow along the edge of the fence for a while before finally finding a suitable spot. With a light leap, his entire body flew into the factory grounds like an arrow loosed from a bow.
He moved too fast for any of the cameras to capture.
After landing as light as a feather, Wu Liangchen quickly ducked into the shadows of a corner.
This was a spot he had carefully picked, arguably the most concealed place in the entire factory complex.
Searchlights overhead swept back and forth, and the footsteps of a distant patrol could be heard from time to time.
A cold glint flashed in Wu Liangchen’s eyes.
’Security this tight isn’t for a factory. This is more like a prison.’
’Even the Sun family’s most important mechanical factory wasn’t this excessive.’
’When things are this abnormal, something is wrong. There had to be a dark secret hidden here, one that couldn’t see the light of day.’
That was precisely why Wu Liangchen had chosen to sneak in rather than launch a direct assault.
He silently counted the footsteps of the distant patrols, judging their individual positions by the sound of their breathing.
Before long, Wu Liangchen had discovered their pattern.
He had to admit, the patrol teams were quite conscientious. Their routes had been meticulously planned, leaving almost no blind spots.
Still, Wu Liangchen keenly perceived the slight hitches in their coordination.
After all, humans weren’t machines. It was impossible for the timing of each patrol circuit to be perfectly fixed; there would always be a slight discrepancy.
Although this window of time was incredibly brief, just a few seconds, it was more than enough for Wu Liangchen.
When the opportunity presented itself again, Wu Liangchen’s muscles tensed. With a light tap of his toes, he unleashed a terrifying burst of power, propelling his body silently through the night air. He successfully entered an office building just before a searchlight beam swept past.
The inside of the building was brightly lit, but security was much more relaxed than it had been outside.
After all, nobody wanted to see large groups of heavily armed soldiers marching back and forth in their own office space.
It served little purpose beyond creating a tense atmosphere.
There were only two or three cameras, not nearly enough to provide full coverage and eliminate all blind spots.
And this gave Wu Liangchen the perfect opportunity.
He used a Magic art that could temporarily conceal his form, preventing him from being immediately spotted by the cameras, then rushed toward the end of the corridor at top speed.
From the information Tian Zhong Mountain had provided, Wu Liangchen had memorized the factory’s layout. He knew that beneath this office building was an even larger underground space where the production line was located.
And the passage leading down was at the end of the corridor.
But just as he was about to rush past, he suddenly froze.
He had heard footsteps coming from around the corner.
The steps were uniform and synchronized, clearly a patrol squad.
Judging from their breathing and the sounds of their firearms, they were a well-trained, elite squad.
And they were just about to round the corner.
Wu Liangchen knew that if he was spotted, he could eliminate the squad in an instant, but doing so would expose his position.
And if the enemy was alerted and began destroying evidence, the entire mission would be a failure.
With this thought, he quickly glanced at a nearby office. Seeing the door was locked, he reached out and vibrated the lock open, then pushed his way inside.
The instant he closed the door behind him, the patrol squad rounded the corner.
But they noticed nothing amiss and continued on their way, their steps perfectly in sync.
Meanwhile, Wu Liangchen, pressed against the back of the door, let out a small sigh of relief and began to survey the office.
The lights in the room were off, leaving it quite dim.
But for Wu Liangchen, the darkness posed no obstacle.
He immediately spotted two people behind a desk at the far end of the room.
Apparently, some people were hiding in this office, indulging in a certain popular pastime.
The man and woman were so engrossed in their activities that they didn’t notice Wu Liangchen’s arrival in the slightest.
Wu Liangchen frowned and walked over without a sound.
The man was at the end of his rope, just about to finish, when a hand clamped around his throat from behind.
The man started, but before he could react, the hand twisted sharply.
With a sharp CRACK, the man’s breath was gone. His final scream was caught in his throat, unable to make the slightest sound.
The woman was confused, wondering why the man behind her had suddenly stopped moving. She turned her head to look.
But before she could get a clear look, Wu Liangchen had already snapped her neck, letting her die just as painlessly as the man.
