Chapter 1971: Opal Magic Forest
Chapter 1971: Opal Magic Forest
Dangerous Land
It didn’t take long for all six of their bodies to crumble. Their vitality was depleted from their bodies. Their cold corpses dropped to the ground.
Then I withdrew the magic spell. The red smoke came to my side. I told the Zero Puppet to collect their storage bracelets.
Ten minutes later,
I got six of their storage bracelets. Then I placed them inside my system space. We then resumed our journey.
A few hours later,
A truck entered the dry land. There were wizards in the truck keeping an eye on the outside.
Not long after, the old woman who was in meditation suddenly opened her eyes. She asked the vehicle to stop. She exited the vehicle.
Swoosh!
In a flash, she appeared in front of the pool of blood.
She saw the mutilated corpses on the ground. There were six remains. All of them were Magic Lords. Their bodies were half monster and half human.
She understood they were a type of transmutation wizards. All of them had died here. She then looked around and found out that the ground was depressed.
It had gone a few inches down.
"Is it an Earth Element Forbidden Wizard?" she thought.
Her back went cold. Her forehead was covered in fine sweat beads.
"How is it possible?"
"The treaty was made between the forces not to send Forbidden Level Powerhouses," she said to herself.
Otherwise, the Forbidden Wizards would have long ago emptied the Opal Magic Forest. It was an agreement made between the various hegemonic forces.
No one dared to break the agreement. But there were some exceptions. Their hegemonic forces were not the true hegemonic forces.
The real hegemonic force was none other than the Mage Union. But the Mage Union was overlooking the world. There were many forces affiliated with them.
Why would they need opal magic stones? She removed their name from the list. She thought it must be the work of rogue forces.
There are many hidden wizard lineages. It could be work from them as well. She decided to go back and report to the higher-ups.
They would send forces from the alliance to capture the person. Only then could they uncover the truth.
More than collecting the opal magic stones, she decided to report to the higher-ups. They didn’t want someone else to rob them right under their noses.
She decisively returned to the truck. She told the news to the members. They decided to return. The members were shocked. They agreed to go back as well.
No one wanted to face a Forbidden Wizard. The appearance of the Forbidden Wizard violated the agreement. No one could blame them for not completing the task.
Swoosh!
The truck turned around and left the place.
The following day,
I finally exited the border of the dangerous land. We stepped inside the black forest.
"Master, it’s the Opal Magic Forest," Zero Puppet said.
"Hmm," I hummed while my gaze swept across the place. The forest vegetation was black in color—from the towering trees to a single blade of grass.
Everything was black in color. Then I asked the system whether the place was dangerous.
[Ding! An ancient monster is sealed beneath the forest.]
[Ding! The host is advised not to move at night. It will suck the vitality from living things.]
The system voice sounded in my mind. It was the first time I was hearing this. I turned towards the Zero Puppet and raised the question.
"Master, there is no information regarding the ancient monster in the database," Zero Puppet replied.
My heart skipped a beat. It meant the forces didn’t have the information, or someone had removed the information. Could it be the Mage Union?
Other than my own organization, I didn’t think there were other forces who could do that. I didn’t know which faction was responsible for collecting opal magic stones before.
Zero Puppet and I began to act. We entered the deep forest and began to look for the opal magic stones.
It didn’t take long for the system to point out a place. I followed the system’s voice and found a fist-sized stone on the ground. It was just left there.
I took the opal magic stone. I felt an immense weight despite being a Supreme Wizard.
"System, is this an opal magic stone?" I asked.
My gaze fell on the black stone. In the middle, the color seemed to change. It was a light black.
[Ding! Opal magic stone detected.]
Hearing that, I sighed in relief. Then I asked what its use was.
[Ding! It’s mostly used in magic tech.]
Hearing that, my eyes flashed with understanding. Then I began to look for more. On the other hand, the Zero Puppet found the locations.
As time passed, I continued to collect the opal magic stones. The size of the stones varied. The mission details didn’t specify the amount.
But I would collect as much as possible. When it was nighttime, I decisively stopped and took Zero Puppet inside the system space.
Inside the blue grid space, I saw a pile of opal magic stones.
"Master, why don’t we collect all the opal magic gemstones?" the puppet asked.
"It’s unnecessary," I replied.
I was wondering why the Mage Union didn’t take this place under their control. If they had the place under control, they could have stationed someone here.
Then it would have become easy for them to collect the opal magic gemstones. But the trick lay in the details.
An ancient monster was sealed under the ground. I bet even the local hegemonic forces were unaware of it.
Since the ancient monster could absorb the vitality of living things, they couldn’t have anyone stationed here.
They couldn’t provide free food to the ancient monster. Because of the system, I was saved once again. Without the intel, I would have spent the night here.
Then I took the Zero Puppet and appeared inside the control room. I stood in front of the control mirror.
Both of us looked at the control mirror. We saw the black forest become completely black and eerie. Seeing that, I knew something was happening outside.
