Chapter 1856: Part 2: What Comes Next?
The Hotel
Magic Lord Clint was in his hotel room, while the other two Supreme Wizards were in theirs. They didn’t have to do anything other than play a supporting role.
Right now, Clint was reporting to his faction members in the Green Elemental Tower.
A dark red smoke slipped into the hotel room. Despite being a Magic Lord, he didn’t sense the intrusion at all. He was busy on a phone call.
“Ha… Ha… Ha…”
“The staff members are growling at my feet. You should have seen their faces,” Clint said with a laugh.
The dark red smoke heard every conversation, but it was programmed to record only the necessary intel. It would skip the idle chat.
“If that b@stard comes back and sees his shop, he’ll be pissed off. I’m sure he will come looking for me,” Clint said over the phone.
“If he dares to attack me, then he is asking for trouble. I’m the guest here right now. His name would be ruined.”
“Even his own faction won’t be able to avoid the damage to their reputation,” he continued to speak, unaware of the dark red smoke in the room.
Meanwhile
The news about the incident at the appraisal shop spread like wildfire. The shop had become the main attraction of the city.
It had become even more famous because of the new owner, who was a controversial wizard. Many magic towers and wizard families hated this person.
Recently, there had been reports about rude customers in the shop. Major forces knew that these situations were being deliberately created.
Most of these people didn’t seem local; they came from outside the city to create drama.
Now that people were hearing about an attack inside the appraisal shop, the whole city was in shock. However, they didn’t know the full details yet.
The major forces had sent people to investigate, but they were all beaten down by Wizard Vincent and fled the scene.
They didn’t know exactly who had attacked the shop, but they were clear about one thing: the strength of Wizard Vincent was greater than that of an average Supreme Wizard.
On the other hand, there were eyewitnesses who saw Magic Lord Clint use his coercion to hurt others, but they were not going to speak out for obvious reasons.
The news began to spread to the neighboring cities. It didn’t take long for the major satellite cities to receive the news.
News related to the Magic Towers was consumed by everyone. Especially when the news involved the Silver Tower, it gathered more eyeballs.
After learning that the shop owned by Wizard Vincent Carey was attacked by an unknown person, the news started trending.
It didn’t take long for Magic City to get wind of the news. The main wizard families were located there.
When they heard the news, there were mixed reactions. If the shop had been located in Magic City, no one would have dared to commit such an act.
Magic City was the center of the land—and also the safest place.
…
The Book Store
Old Man Martin was someone who knew every little thing that happened in the city.
When he learned Vincent Carey had appeared and bought an appraisal shop in Crystal City, he was surprised and wanted to go there.
But he didn’t have time. The appraisal business intrigued him; he wanted to go there and see the operations for himself.
He knew that “Kid Vincent” was not ordinary. The boy liked to read books as well, and Martin had thought the kid would open a book shop like him.
But the appraisal shop stunt had come out of nowhere. Just as he was thinking about it, his gaze fell on the news telecasting on the screen.
The news was about the attack inside Wizard Vincent’s appraisal shop. Old Man Martin was stunned.
He got up from his seat and walked up to the screen. The female news anchor was speaking with a dramatic expression.
She described the events that had taken place. They showed coverage of the appraisal shop from above.
They didn’t have access to the Crystal Community, so they were taking shots from the air.
Old Man Martin smelled something amiss. He knew no one had the courage to do this except the Magic Towers.
“Which Magic Tower would it be?”
“Or could it be the Wizard Families?” the old man thought.
He believed it was highly likely the Magic Towers.
“Green Elemental Tower,” the old man said in a cold tone. He didn’t need much time to figure it out.
He then took out his device and called a few people. They were his connections. It didn’t take long for him to learn the ins and outs from them.
His contacts were powerful people with a wide range of networks. They didn’t need spies to get news; a single phone call was enough.
That’s how the old man was able to get the facts. Now, he knew that the Green Elemental Tower had sent one Magic Lord and two Supreme Wizards to trouble Vincent Carey.
“The current episode was likely caused by him,” Old Man Martin muttered.
He quickly analyzed the situation. He figured the kid had no support from the Silver Tower. Erwin and Charlotte might help, but they wouldn’t interfere in small matters.
Right now, the Green Elemental Tower was using such low tactics.
“I think I need to go there,” Martin thought.
He looked around and saw a few customers in the shop. He decided to wait for them to leave.
One hour later,
All the customers in the bookstore had left. Old Man Martin didn’t waste any time. He closed the shop and turned on the magic restrictions for the shop’s safety.
“Why don’t I put magic restrictions on the kid’s shop?” Martin thought.
His eyes gleamed with a twinkle. He thought it would be very helpful to Vincent Carey. After making the arrangements, he left for Crystal City.
Meanwhile
There were other well-wishers of Vincent Carey who were shocked by the news. Like Manager Lara’s friend, the private collector Melissa, she was shocked by the news as well.
