Chapter 1849: Meeting guests!

Chapter 1849: Meeting guests!

Crystal City – Shop

We made a deal and signed a successful contract. But I added some conditions. The deal is not going to last forever.

If the leader of the Wizard Association changes, the deal will become invalid.

At first, Leader Edmund hesitated, but he accepted the conditions.

In the end, the contract became active. They will send someone daily at midnight to brief me on the intel reports.

Both of them left with smiles on their faces. I leaned back in my seat, feeling satisfied. I started this shop to collect intel.

The appraisal service is for the outsiders to see. So far, the appraisal business is blooming.

Now that I have made a contract with the powerful Wizard Association here, the business is going to become even more solid.

But I have to do something about the intel. In the future, I’m planning to sell intel for a price as well. But for that, I should have branches in all cities.

A quick gleam appeared in my eyes. I decided to take it one step at a time. Right now, it’s important to protect the business from outsider attacks.

Next, I thought about the online news. I took the device out, eager to check whether the news was known. Then I saw breaking news with a picture of mine.

All the media houses are reporting on me. They have sent their people to Crystal City. Some of them are already here in the city.

But they were not allowed to enter the private property. They can’t enter the Crystal Community without permission.

While I’m pondering, Hank is bringing another guest again. This time, the guests are city officials.

The officials walked into the office. Hank left the room. I looked at the people. They are none other than Elder Blake and his men.

“You’re Elder Blake, right? I have heard about you. Please take a seat,” I said to him and his men.

They sat down opposite me.

“Wizard Vincent, I never thought I would see you in our city. We are glad that you have chosen to buy a shop here,” Elder Blake said.

Hearing that, I smiled and said, “Me and Appraiser Frank go a long way back. It’s normal for me to buy this shop.”

The conversation then continued for ten minutes. Then they left. They came here to see me out of respect, so there was not much to talk about.

Besides, there were other guests in line as well. After them, I continued to meet the guests who were local forces.

One hour later,

I felt tired and stopped receiving guests. I closed my eyes and began to rest.

Outside,

So many people had come, including guests and customers. Patrick and Otto had their hands full.

Hank is managing the crowd control. Old Man Rock is looking for any threats. He is responsible for safety.

Both monsters are staying in the basement.

On the other hand, the guests were still waiting for me. They had brought gifts with them.

I only spent 20 minutes on a break.

Then I continued receiving guests. A weird guest came to see me. He was dressed neatly. We were sitting opposite each other.

“I’m one of the traders. My name is John,” the man said. His introduction was weak. My vigilance rose.

“Oh, a trader. It’s nice to meet you, Mr. John,” I replied.

To that, his eyes flickered and he showed a weird smile on his face.

[Ding! Malicious intent is detected.]

The system voice sounded in my mind. My heart stirred. Who could it be? To think someone dared to show up here.

He is showing his intentions in front of me. Does he think I can’t find out about it?

“Mr. Vincent, to show my appreciation, I have brought a gift for you. You must look at it later.” After saying that, he took out a decorated wooden box.

He placed it on the table.

I raised my eyebrows in surprise. This person clearly carries hatred for me. Then why did he bring a gift? I used the system Probe function.

[Ding! A decapitated head was found.]

I heard the system voice and lost my composure.

Before the weird man could speak, I appeared before him and knocked him unconscious. Once he was down, I phoned Elder Blake. Before leaving, he had given me his contact earlier.

“Wizard Vincent, I didn’t expect your call so soon. Do you need something?” Blake asked.

“Some moron has come here to cause a problem. Could you come here?” I asked.

“I will be there in a few minutes,” Blake replied.

Then I ended the call and waited for him to come.

A few minutes later,

Elder Blake came with his men. He walked into the room and saw the unconscious man on the ground.

I explained. Blake and his men were stunned. Blake then walked up to the desk. He made sure that no dangerous object was inside the storage box first.

Then he opened the cover. The next second, everyone saw the decapitated head of a middle-aged man.

“It’s Luke. One of our staff. He has been absent for two days. Didn’t expect someone to kill him,” one of the men said.

Hearing that, the faces of everyone changed drastically. Elder Blake’s expression turned ugly.

He had expected someone to cause problems for Wizard Vincent, but he didn’t expect someone to use one of their own men’s heads.

He was furious.

“Wizard Vincent, can you give this person to us?”

“I assure you that I’m going to find the person behind him,” Blake said.

“Alright,” I replied.

Then they took the weird man along with them. I let out a sigh. I guess it won’t end. There will be someone next. But I’m not afraid.

I summoned the staff members next. Otto, Patrick, Hank, and Old Man Rock came. Then I told them about the weird man.

They had to be careful. Someone could attack them as well.

“Master, it’s my fault. I should have been careful,” Otto said.

I shook my head and said, “You wouldn’t find anything. If the target wasn’t speaking, you wouldn’t know whether he is a good person or not.”

“Since I’m here, it will be a matter of time before the magic towers make their moves. So be careful.” After saying that, I sent them outside.
