Chapter 1848: Contract with Infinite Wizard Association
Chapter 1848: Contract with Infinite Wizard Association
Doyle Family
The Doyle Family higher-ups heard the news as well. They were shocked and immediately contacted their spies stationed at Crystal City. They wanted to know if the news was true or not.
Soon, the spies confirmed the news. After making sure the news was indeed coming from multiple sources, they contacted other families.
A high-level meeting was quickly convened.
The status of Vincent Carey was different than before; they couldn’t openly target him now. Their target was an official member of the Silver Tower.
He had joined the White Silver faction as well, and that faction is known for protecting its own.
The faction also has an elder-level powerhouse. If the matter were escalated to such a level, then the Mage Union would get involved.
So, they had to discuss it among themselves before taking any action. However, the Doyle Wizard Family wouldn’t forgive Vincent Carey or stop taking action against him.
If they couldn’t take action against the city, they would take action secretly.
Since Vincent Carey had resurfaced, they didn’t want to miss the chance. If they missed this opportunity to target him, he might disappear again.
…
Green Elemental Tower
There are factions in the Green Elemental Magic Tower as well. One of these factions was discussing Vincent Carey because they had suffered losses because of him.
Their wizards had lost a magic duel against Vincent Carey in the Magic Arena, and they had lost face in front of the other Magic Towers.
They had tried many ways to avenge the disrespect. They even used the help of members from the Mage Union, but they failed in the end.
After that, Vincent Carey disappeared, and they couldn’t trace him back then.
Now that he had reappeared, the Green Elemental Tower wanted revenge.
Compared to Appraiser Frank, they paid more attention to Vincent Carey. Earlier, they had helped the Flame Elemental Tower from behind the scenes; this time, they were going to take action themselves.
…
Meanwhile
The news reached the ears of forces in the Magic City and other surrounding satellite cities. Everyone was shocked.
Who doesn’t know about Vincent Carey? He is the famous wizard of the Silver Tower and a favorite of the locals, especially the locals who made a fortune in the magic arena duels.
When Vincent Carey disappeared, they were disappointed.
Now that the news of his return was known, the people were rejoicing. The news was only spreading through word of mouth, as no news had been telecast in the media.
The media reporters were shocked and rushed to Crystal City. Not only them, but other media reporters from the satellite cities were heading to Crystal City as well.
…
Crystal City—Shop
I was sitting inside the office when I saw the first guests come to see me.
They were none other than people from the Wizard Association: Faction Leader Edmund Smith and Jonah. I didn’t show any reaction. Hank was leading them in.
After entering, Hank introduced them to me before leaving.
“Please, sit down,” I said in a calm tone. I made a slight change in my voice.
Edmund and Jonah looked at each other and then sat down opposite me. Edmund was a Magic Lord, but he was slightly nervous. He was looking at the famous wizard for the first time.
Jonah had the same reaction; he had heard about me and watched the videos of the magic duel arena, so he was shocked internally.
I looked at them. Seeing that they were nervous, I sighed inwardly. They didn’t know I was the same person, yet their reaction was so different.
“Cough,” I let out a cough to draw their attention.
Edmund and Jonah collected their thoughts; they had been lost for a second.
Edmund smiled and said, “It’s nice to meet you, Wizard Vincent. I’ve heard a lot about you.”
“Same here. I have watched your magic arena duels. You are really strong,” Jonah said with a smile. He wanted to ease the tension and make the atmosphere lighter.
“Oh, thanks for saying that. It’s nice to meet you guys as well. Appraiser Frank told me about you,” I said to them.
Edmund’s eyes flickered. He understood that Appraiser Frank must have briefed me, but Frank was not here today. I saw through their thoughts.
“I have sent Frank somewhere. So, you can tell me: what do you guys want?” I said with a chuckle.
Edmund was taken aback. He glanced at Jonah, who usually did the talking.
Jonah nodded before saying, “Wizard Vincent, we want to do business with you.”
A hint of seriousness appeared in my eyes. “I’m all ears,” I replied.
“We will find clients for the appraisal service, but we will charge a commission fee. In exchange, we need free appraisal services for our Association,” Jonah said.
“Free service?” I uttered. Hearing that, I almost laughed out loud.
“I didn’t finish. You give us free service, and we will give you free intel, especially intel on our city and the surrounding cities,” Jonah replied.
Hearing that, I became interested. I was already collecting intel with the help of my members and the zero puppet. If the Wizard Association provided me with intel, it would be very useful.
If anyone tried to find my source, it would simply point back to the Infinite Wizard Association.
There was silence for a few minutes. Edmund Smith didn’t know what the outcome of the discussion would be, but he was hoping to do business with Wizard Vincent.
They could earn more resources from this arrangement, and Appraiser Frank had already proved to be a legitimate appraiser.
“Okay. Let’s discuss the commission fee,” I said to them.
Hearing that, Edmund felt relieved. Jonah smiled as well.
Jonah said, “We are ready for a 40/60 split.”
“30/70,” I replied.
Jonah’s smile disappeared. He had thought Wizard Vincent would accept. But Edmund had expected this outcome.
From the beginning, they were the ones making the offer. He understood why Wizard Vincent wouldn’t accept a lower cut.
He then said, “Alright, we agree. 30 to 70.”
Jonah was taken aback, but he didn’t say anything. He could tell that Leader Edmund wanted this deal to be successful at any cost.
