Chapter 1777: The shop is packed
Chapter 1777: The shop is packed
From MC’s Perspective
I believed Otto’s words. I wanted to ask more, but I decided to open the shop first. I didn’t want to make a bad impression on the new day.
“Open the shop. Keep an eye on everyone. If anyone wants to appraise an item, you guys can check it first.”
“If it is Level 9 and below, you guys can deal with it. But I’m interested in Supreme-grade items and above. If there is one, inform me immediately,” I said.
“I’ll be in one of the office rooms watching,” I added before leaving.
“What?” Otto was taken aback.
The others were speechless as well. Only the old man, Rock, understood.
He said, “Master wants us to deal with the small fries. He will deal with the heads and representatives of the various forces.”
“Besides, one of you is a former bandit overlord and another is a seasoned stall owner. Then there is one with unique field magic. You guys are enough to run the shop.”
“If you need any help, you can ask me. My job is to protect the shop,” Magic Lord Rock said with a smile.
Hearing that, everyone’s eyes glinted with understanding. Now their confusion was cleared. They understood that there was no need for Master Vincent to talk to everyone.
Then Patrick, Otto, and Hank left to open the gate. The two monsters were in the basement practicing; they won’t show up unless it is necessary.
On the other hand, I didn’t return to my room. I went to the balcony. From there, I looked at the people standing in the queue.
I thought of something before putting my face mask back on. I didn’t know whether anyone had come here to test me.
Many wizards from yesterday showed interest in the collections. They could have sent their representatives today.
I used the system to check whether anyone came with malicious intentions, but the results came back negative.
I heaved a sigh of relief. Then I went back to the gallery room. The gallery room has an office room attached as well. I sat behind the desk, eager to observe through the window.
I can look at them from here, but they can’t see me. Even if they use their mental power, it’s forbidden to use magic power inside the shop. I had already had a conversation with the members on this matter.
Outside
The gate was opened. The trio welcomed everyone inside. The customers who were annoyed earlier felt relieved.
They had thought the shop owner might be tired due to yesterday’s events. They had come here to try their luck.
But the number of people was large. Everyone had the same idea of doing business the next day. They were locals who were small business owners and other workers.
Everyone had unknown items in their possession. It could be waste material or it could be a hidden gem; everyone wanted to try their luck.
The people had already learned from the rumors that the shop owner, Frank, is a high-level appraiser.
The guests who had attended the event yesterday spread the news that the gallery room was filled with Supreme-level materials and above.
The customers went inside the building one after another. They knew one part of the building was used as a shop.
They entered the big gallery directly. As the customers were coming here for the first time, the trio led them inside and started asking about their purpose.
Some of the customers forgot their original purpose and were caught continuously staring at the collections.
Inside the office room, I let out a chuckle. To be honest, I wanted to check the items in person, but it was not a good choice.
Once I am easily available, there will be an uncontrolled crowd. If people know I only meet important people, then their expectations will be managed.
Unless someone is sure they have important items, they won’t make a request to see me face-to-face.
Time passed.
Patrick, Otto, and Hank were dealing with customers separately. At first, these customers were annoyed; they actually wanted their items to be appraised by the shop owner, Frank, himself not the staff.
But someone exposed the strength of the three staff members. After knowing that the three were Supreme Wizards, the people became obedient. They started answering the staff’s questions genuinely.
In the office room, I was not only monitoring the guests but also evaluating the work of the three members.
They are Supreme Wizards and are older than me; they can easily identify trash objects.
Patrick’s previous work was banditry, no good objects will escape his eyes. Similarly with Otto, his former job was selling different ore materials, so he won’t miss any ore-related items.
I hope it is the same case with Hank. Though Hank has less experience than Patrick and Otto, his magic is an advantage. With his field magic, he can find earth-related treasures. There is a reason why I recruited them.
Then my gaze shifted to the entrance. Someone was sitting there; the person was none other than Magic Lord Rock. Magic Lord Rock was also observing the materials silently.
If the three of them missed anything by chance, it wouldn’t escape the eyes of a Magic Lord. I had already informed Magic Lord Rock about the work. He can’t show himself, but he can observe the objects from a distance.
Time passed.
Most of the people who came early to the shop left with disappointment. The objects brought by them were trash.
Some of them even tried to argue, but the power of a Supreme Wizard was a strong deterrent. They left the place without creating trouble.
Seeing that, I sighed in relief. Things had gone exactly as I had imagined. The locals had brought their household antique pieces to be appraised, but most of the antique pieces happened to be junk.
They were not magic treasures; they were just home decor. I can only feel sorry for these locals. They had come here to try their luck, but they failed in the end.
None of the good objects were brought or sold. The locals knew the prices of the collections here were beyond their range.
Even if there are broken junk pieces, they date back to an old era and have research and historical value. They will sell for quite an amount.
