Chapter 1736: Conflict at the border!

Chapter 1736: Conflict at the border!

Dark Territory – Dust City

Forbidden Wizard Remi was busy with various missions, so he didn’t have time to pay attention to the kid from the Silver Tower.

But this time, the Elders had made a decision. They freed him from his existing mission and ordered him to eliminate the potential young giant.

When he heard about the kid becoming an official member of the Silver Tower, he didn’t believe it.

Later, he got confirmation from various sources. Only then did he believe it. He thought the kid had obtained some fortuitous encounter, enabling him to become a Level-9 Wizard.

But he didn’t expect even the Elders to take the kid seriously. They wanted him dead. He knew the reason why. As per the intel, both Forbidden Wizard Charlotte and Erwin were not in the magic city.

They had left the magic city to avoid the Mage Union’s investigation. It was the right time for the Black Tower to carry out their plan. But it was a pity the kid had escaped way before them.

If the kid had been staying in the city, he wouldn’t have taken the risk to capture the Manager of the Silver Tower.

Now the Silver Tower might be looking for her, so he had taken a considerable risk. If the Silver Tower truly valued her, they could use the help of the Fate Wizard.

All of their plots would be exposed. But it was a gamble. He doubted that the Silver Tower Elders would use such an opportunity for a mere manager.

But he knew that kid would definitely come. Apart from Manager Lara and the two Forbidden Wizards, no one was close to that kid.

A sinister smile appeared on his face. This time, Remi wouldn’t miss the chance. He would be restricted in the magic city, but here in the Dark Territory, he could walk sideways.

Once the kid was captured, he would definitely torture him to death. Then the Silver Tower wouldn’t have the face to look up to the Black Tower.

Only the Red Tower would remain in their way.

Remi’s eyes turned solemn thinking about the Red Tower. Compared to the fractured Silver Tower, there was no weakness in the Red Tower.

Because of the fewer members, everyone was united there. They really couldn’t use the same trick.

“Forget about the Red Tower. Let’s focus on the current task,” Remi diverted himself from the Red Tower matter.

Meanwhile,

In the prison cell, Manager Lara was scared. She didn’t expect someone to dare capture her outside the magic city.

She was visiting her friend’s home. What was more, her whereabouts were kept secret. Yet she was captured. She knew the identity of the person who captured her.

She didn’t dare speak out. She could only feign ignorance. She also had a trump card given by Forbidden Wizard Charlotte.

The reason she spoke to Vincent Carey was different. She knew Vincent Carey was clever. He wouldn’t come to the city without preparation.

She also thought that Forbidden Wizard Remi was aware of her trump card. That’s why he didn’t take other actions apart from capturing and locking her up in the cell here.

From MC Perspective

“It’s troublesome,” I muttered.

I used the system function to verify the voice. It was indeed the voice of Lara. No one was impersonating her. But she was captured.

“Who could it be?” I asked myself.

My eyebrows furrowed. I had thought the rest of the journey would be smooth, but I didn’t expect a problem to arise.

Manager Lara was herself a Magic Lord. If someone had captured her and brought her to the Dark Territory, I could only think of the Forbidden Wizards.

My heart became heavy. I was away from the city to avoid the limelight. Most importantly, to stay away from the Magic Lords and Forbidden Wizards.

I had forged enmity with the Green Elemental Tower and the Black Tower. The other elemental towers showed hostility towards me.

If I was right, it must be one of those two. I didn’t know whether it was from the Green Elemental Tower or the Black Tower.

But in any case, I was going to rescue her. Before that, I needed to collect information about Dust City.

If the Forbidden Wizard was staying in Dust City, then he would find me easily. I couldn’t use the Raven Aircraft anymore.

So I stopped the aircraft. The stealth mode was turned off, and the aircraft became transparent.

Creak!

I exited the aircraft and appeared outside. Then I put the aircraft inside the system space.

Swoosh!

Next, I used the digital device to find the route towards the Dark Territory. After memorizing the route, I put the device back and started flying towards the Dark Territory.

As the days went by, I stopped in many towns on the path. But I didn’t stay there. I wasn’t entirely sure about the situation of Manager Lara.

So I decided to find her first.

A few days later,

I reached the border of the Dark Territory. The sky was gray in color with no blue skies. The land was completely desolate, where dust and smoke had covered the environment.

Apart from the rare plants growing in this environment, there was no vegetation here. My gaze then fell on the travelers.

They were all wandering wizards. But their strength was not to be underestimated. Not a single modern vehicle could be seen.

Instead, the travelers were using the caravans of the old days. My eyes glinted with understanding. The environment here was dangerous.

A sandstorm could cause more problems.

Suddenly, I felt someone was watching me from behind. The person’s gaze was filled with greed.

I turned around and saw a middle-aged man. His eyes were filled with greed. He was not even hiding it.

Swoosh!

A few more wizards appeared and blocked my path. They were all wearing dirty clothes. I was the odd one here. No wonder I was being targeted.

My gaze swept across them. None of them were Supreme Wizards. Their levels were between Level-7 and Level-8. They were weak.
