Chapter 1632: Weird magic book!

Chapter 1632: Weird magic book!

From MC’s Perspective:

Falling Star City

“What happened?” I asked.

“They have some emergency work to do,” the old man replied.

I didn’t ask further. I thanked him before leaving the shop. Now that I had bought the tickets, I just had to wait for a day to pass.

I didn’t return to the inn. Instead, I started to walk around the city.

Soon, I came to the outer ring and started walking down an old street.

A few minutes later,

I noticed I was the only one on the street. The road was narrower here, with old houses on both sides. I recalled this was not the exact path I had traveled with Patrick and Otto.

“Help me!”

Suddenly, I heard a low voice. My senses were sharp. Someone was out there calling for help. I paused my footsteps and waited to hear the voice again.

“Help me!”

I heard the voice again. This time it was clear. The voice belonged to an elderly woman. I used the system function to find the location.

The system results came back. It was coming from one of the old, run-down houses. I immediately went to that house and entered the front yard.

[Ding! Warning!]

[Level-9 Wizard detected.]

The system voice sounded in my mind. I once again used the system to find the exact location. That person was staying in the living area.

Through my senses, I observed the room. There was an old man dressed in wizard robes. He had handcuffed an old woman to a chair.

I knocked on the door and then entered the Gregor Mansion to hide.

The sudden sound of my knocking had startled him.

“Who could it be?” the old man uttered.

The old woman was petrified. Her hands were handcuffed, so she couldn’t use magic spells.

The old man went to check the door. He opened it and looked out, but he found no one standing there. He then started to walk around the yard to investigate.

At that moment, I appeared outside the Gregor Mansion again. I immediately used the system to check his details. The system results popped up.

When my gaze fell on his awakened magic, I felt goosebumps all over my body.

“Weird Book,” I muttered.

The old man’s awakened magic was a ’Weird Book.’ He must be trying to do some kind of experiment. Unfortunately, I didn’t know what that book did.

I slipped inside the room and came to the living area. I saw the old woman handcuffed. When she saw me, she sighed in relief.

“He is going to use that weird book on me,” she said.

I didn’t say anything. I walked up to her and knocked her unconscious. Then, I took her inside the Gregor Mansion with me.

Right then, the old man came back inside. But he found that the old woman was gone. His expression changed drastically.

He started searching frantically inside the room. I brought the old woman with me to the control room.

The old woman was not strong; she was only a Level-8 Wizard. But the old man was dangerous. It had been a long time since I had seen someone with book-type magic.

I was now more curious about what his weird book did.

Outside

The old man started smashing everything around him. The tables and chairs were destroyed. He was now tearing down the walls.

“Where are you?” he shouted out loud.

“No, I can’t wait,” he muttered in a low tone.

The old man rushed out of the house the next second. He didn’t even come back.

Inside the Gregor Mansion, I was shocked. I thought the old man would have used a magic spell to search. Instead, he fled the spot. I felt something was wrong.

What was the weird man doing here?

Then I turned towards the old woman. I touched her hand and appeared outside the room again.

We were back in the same place. I didn’t know whether the old man would come back or not.

Then I used water to splash on her face to wake her up. The old woman opened her eyes.

“Where is he?” she asked in a terrified tone.

“He is gone. You are safe now. Tell me, what’s going on here?” I asked her.

The old woman took her time to calm her heart down.

She then said, “He said he came here for the auction. But he forced me to come here and handcuffed me.”

Hearing that, my eyes flickered.

“Why is he behaving strangely?” I asked.

The old woman’s face changed.

“He is pure evil. He was muttering about bleeding me out. He wanted blood,” the old woman replied.

“Blood?” I uttered.

I couldn’t help but think of the Weird Book. The book was not ordinary. The old man was acting like he was going insane.

There was a possibility that he wanted blood for the book. What kind of magic was this? I had known people with physique-related magic.

Some could transmute their body parts into monster parts. I had even spotted wizards from super-large nations using magic books to cast spells.

But this was the first time I had spotted someone whose magic book demanded blood.

Suddenly, an idea came to mind. Why don’t I subdue him? I already had two crimson orbs in my mind. I had a feeling that I could accommodate more.

If it didn’t work out, it was fine. But if I could subdue the old man, he would be of great use to me. Before that, I needed to find him.

I collected my thoughts, broke her handcuffs, and set her free. The old woman was afraid to go out alone. So, I accompanied her to the main street.

Then I asked the old woman where she had first found the old man. She said he was wandering in this same street.

I raised my eyebrows in surprise. I decided to stay in the old house. If the old man came back at night, I would try to control him using the red scroll.

After gaining some clarity, I went back to the same old house.

On the other hand, the old man found another target. His target was an old man passing by. The victim was a low-tier wizard who posed no threat to him.
