Chapter 1631: Got the ticket!

Chapter 1631: Got the ticket!

From MC’s Perspective

The next morning,

I woke up early. I went through my morning routine quickly; it didn’t take long. Then, I started getting ready to explore the city.

A few minutes later,

I stepped outside. I was wearing the mask again. I left the room and walked downstairs to the first floor.

I saw the inn owner and greeted him. Immediately, the inn owner told me some important information.

The City Auction House had released tickets, and anyone could buy them now. Hearing that, I was shocked. It was completely unannounced.

I didn’t ask any further questions. I left the inn and headed towards the City Auction House.

Buzz!

While I was walking down the street, my digital device buzzed. I took it out and saw that Patrick was calling.

I answered the call. Patrick said that they had both reached Mistfall City last night and were currently resting in one of the inns.

Hearing that, I sighed in relief. I told them to be careful. After hanging up, I continued walking.

I could see a lot more people going in the same direction. Among them were many Level-8 and Level-9 Wizards.

Not long after, I spotted a few Supreme Wizards. Everyone had the same destination in mind.

After taking a turn, I walked down another street to reach the City Auction House. When I saw the auction house, my expression turned solemn.

Many people had gathered in front of the auction house. They were entering one by one.

Seeing that, I walked up and stood in line. My gaze wandered over everyone. I was worried that I would be the only one wearing a mask.

But I was wrong. There were others in disguise. Some of them were wearing animal face masks and hats.

It made me relax. Then, I waited for my turn.

Inside the Auction House

The auction house manager was an old man in a suit. City Lord Dorian was next to him. The Manager was shocked.

He didn’t know why the City Lord himself was present; it was supposed to be like any other auction.

But the final item made it different. The Manager learned that an outer space item was indeed going to be auctioned.

So, he thought the City Lord was there to inspect the place. On the other hand, Dorian was indeed there to check the venue.

But there was one more thing he came to do. As per Young Master Hale’s plan, he needed to seal the auction house from all four sides.

He didn’t tell the manager about this. To complete the work, he was looking for all the exits. He was going to block them so that people couldn’t escape after the auction ended.

Outside

As I waited for my turn, I saw a familiar face. Upon seeing him, I didn’t know what to say.

The person was none other than the Black Tower Wizard, Rowan. He had been fooled by Hale Sutton. Now, he was going to participate in the auction.

The reason I was so confident was the Gregor Mansion. I could use it to hide.

At that moment, Rowan felt something. He turned around to check the crowd. He felt someone staring at him.

Then he saw that quite a few wizards had come in disguise. A few of them were wearing masks. He couldn’t help but think of the masked man.

Rowan was shocked. He thought he had lost that person in Mistfall City. He believed the masked man could be watching him right now.

Which among the masked men was looking at him? If the person looked at him again, he would know.

Rowan then turned around. Soon, his turn came. He walked into the auction house to buy a ticket.

At the same time, I sighed in relief. Rowan’s reaction had startled me. I had to be careful; otherwise, he would discover me.

Time passed

Rowan left the auction house after buying the ticket. As time passed, the crowd started to thin.

Meanwhile

Elder Abel and Young Master Hale were in the City Lord’s room. They were monitoring the situation.

So far, no big power has entered the city. Ticket sales were going well.

Hale was in a good mood. In one more day, the plan would come to fruition.

Back at the Entrance

It was my turn. I stepped forward and walked inside the auction house. I approached the old manager.

I walked into the room and sat in my seat. The manager took his seat and stated the price.

Finally, I paid 10,000 top-grade mana stones and bought the ticket. Despite knowing about the dangers, I still bought it.

Then I collected the ticket into my storage ring.

[Ding! Warning]

[Sealing Artifact detected.]

A mechanical voice sounded in my mind. Hearing that, I was stunned. Is it part of the plan, or am I just over imagining it?

Then I stood up to leave.

The old man didn’t notice anything wrong. I walked out of the auction building and onto the street.

Something didn’t sit well with me. What was with the magic artifact? Were they using it to protect the City Auction House building?

I really wanted to know, but I had already called for help. There was no need for me to take a risk. I collected my thoughts and headed towards the tailor shop.

A few minutes later,

I arrived at the shop and looked for the old man. He was seated at the desk. Upon seeing me, he stood up and came over.

“Young man, your clothes are ready,” the old man said.

Hearing that, I took out 10 top-grade mana stones and gave them to him. The old man accepted the payment.

He then brought brand new suits and an overcoat. I collected the boxes into my storage ring. I noticed that the other two men were nowhere to be seen.

The old man saw through my thoughts. He smiled and said,”They are not going to come today.”
