Chapter 1493: Part 1: Tristan Family

Ironwall City:

After having breakfast, I paid the bill before exiting the inn. Then my eyes wandered around before spotting people going about their business.

I approached one of them and inquired about the transport service. A middle-aged man heard my question and looked at me from top to bottom.

“Our city does have transport services. But it’s a private one. Not a public one. You have to pay money to book a seat. It’s located in the middle of the city,” The middle-aged man answered.

Hearing that, I sighed in relief and thanked the middle-aged man. I think the middle-aged might have thought I’m poor.

Shaking my head, I started going towards the middle of the city. I didn’t know the route earlier. But after asking around a few people. I learned the direction.

As time passed, I got closer to the transport service area. When I arrived at the place. I saw that this place was surrounded by another fortified wall.

Seeing that my eyes flash with surprise. I heard it was private property. I never thought it would be this private. Then I came to the main entrance.

The main gate was open. Two guards are standing outside. They are casually chatting to each other. Seeing that walked up to them.

There were two middle-aged people. But they are wearing different uniforms.

“Who are you?” A long-nosed, middle-aged man asked.

He thinks the masked man might be a visitor.

Hearing that, I replied, “I’m a traveller. I’m wondering whether I could use the transport service here.”

The two middle-aged men were surprised. They looked at each other’s faces. They understood that the young man was here to look for the travel service.

The long-nosed middle-aged man said, “It’s a transport company belonging to the Tristan Family. The services here belong to them.”

“If you want to use them, then it’s quite difficult,” he added.

As I guessed before, the transport service indeed belonged to a Wizard Family. But what’s with the difficulty?

“What’s the difficulty?” I asked.

This time, a brown-haired middle-aged man spoke.

“Our airship needs a certain number of people. Otherwise, it will be a loss to the company. You, one person, won’t be able to afford the total cost.”

My eyes flickered with an understanding.

Then I asked, “Then how does your master family travel to other cities?”

“They have their own airship. If you heard everything, you can leave right now,” The long-nosed middle-aged man said.

Hearing that I turned around to leave.

“I heard young master Tristan is going to WillowPeak City tonight. Do you think we will have a break?”

The brown haired man asked.

“Don’t think about the leave. We might have to spend time guarding here,” the long-nosed middle-aged man uttered with frustration.

On the other hand, their conversations right now brought a smile to my face. I was wondering how to reach WillowPeak City faster.

I hadn’t expected someone to travel to that city tonight. Then I changed my plan. I have decided to find the young master Tristan first.

For that, I have to find their mansion first. Then I have decided to ask around the locals. At first, people suspected me. Then I told them I’m looking for a job in their place.

Then they let down their guard and gave me information.

Then I learned that the Tristan Family is located not far away from their private transport company. They are living behind two business streets.

Without wasting time further, I went to the place. As usual, their place is surrounded by high walls. At their entrance, four guards are monitoring the place.

The four guards are level-8 Wizards. They are wearing the uniform of the Tristan Family. I began to observe them from a distance. If I deliberately walk in front of their place, then it would cause a lot of doubts.

I looked around and saw there were no other shops or buildings adjacent to them.

Suddenly, one of the four guards saw me looking around. He then signalled me to come. Hearing that I realised I got exposed. There is no point in running away.

I collected my thoughts and walked up to them.

“Who are you?”

“What are you doing here?” One of the guards asked.

“I’m a traveller. I need a transport service urgently. I’m wondering whether I could get help here,” I said the truth to them.

Hearing that, the guards understood and looked at each other’s faces. Unlike the two guards at the transport service area. The four guards weren’t stupid.

They knew some of the travellers had a background. They were not afraid of Ironwall City, let alone the Wizard family.

“I’m going to report to the family head. You should wait here until then,” One of them said before leaving.

The other three continue to observe me.

The guard went inside the white mansion and reported to the staff there. The staff then brought the news to the family head.

The family head of the Tristan Family was a middle-aged man over forty. His name was John Tristan. He was in the hall when he heard the news.

Seeing that someone wanted to use their transport service, he was surprised. Because he doesn’t do the business for a single person. They need a large number of customers so that they can make a profit.

Yet someone wants to travel solo. His eyes flash with gleam. He was aware of the fact that the people entering the Dark Territory in the name of travellers were not ordinary wizards.

It’s not easy to enter Ironwall City after safely exiting all those weird cities and towns ahead. He then told the staff to bring the person here.

John doesn’t want to disrespect any guest. Most importantly, he doesn’t want to offend a person with a background for no reason. He will try to explain the situation in person.

The staff went outside and informed the guard. The guard was surprised and relieved. He was glad that he didn’t disrespect the traveller.
