“Stop, you are not my opponents,” Adam swept a cold glance around, his tone devoid of emotion.

“Today, I only want the lives of Young Master Noel and your Gavel family Patriarch.”

The Gavel family disciples exchanged fearful glances and, driven by terror, slowly retreated, they knew that staying here would only turn them into wandering souls beneath Adam’s blade.

For a moment, many were restless, preparing to flee, family clans and sects meant nothing in the face of life and death.

“Those who flee shall die,” the Patriarch roared, panting as he barely steadied his footing, his majesty was still there, even though everyone was itching to run, they held back.

“But do you think you can defeat me just like this? My Gavel family has a thousand years of heritage, how could a junior like you shake it?”

“Oh? Is that so?” A playful smile hooked the corners of Adam’s mouth, “Then let me see just how strong this thousand-year heritage really is.”

With that, Adam struck again, this time he mobilized all his strength, the Evil God’s power surged turbulently within his body, transforming into streaks of black energy waves that relentlessly bombarded the Patriarch.

Although the Patriarch resisted with all his might, under Adam’s overwhelming, mountain-toppling offensive, he appeared powerless.

“No, this is impossible,” the Patriarch roared in despair, his figure gradually blurred under Adam’s attacks, as if he would dissipate at any moment.

“Nothing is impossible,” Adam’s voice was cold and firm, “Today, let all grievances be settled.”

As Adam’s final strike landed, the Patriarch could resist no longer, his figure shattered with a boom, turning into specks of light that dissipated into the air.

Seeing this, the Gavel family disciples fell to their knees one after another, eyes full of terror and despair.

“Patriarch!” they cried out in grief, but they could no longer summon back the powerhouse who had once protected them.

Adam watched this scene without a ripple in his heart, he turned to look at Young Master Noel, he was next.

Noel’s face was pale and his legs trembled, he knew full well he had nowhere to run, that once highly regarded pride had vanished into nothingness, leaving only deep terror and helplessness.

His voice trembling, he tried one final struggle, “Ze… Zeon, you can’t do this, my Gavel family is a prestigious clan, if you dare touch me, it will incur the public wrath of the entire world.”

A disdainful smile hooked the corners of Adam’s mouth, your Patriarch is already dead, yet you’re still putting on airs.

He slowly walked toward Noel, every step seemed to tread upon the other party’s heartstrings, making him even more terrified.

“A prestigious clan? So what? When you used your power to oppress people and bully the weak, did you ever consider you would face a day like today? Justice may be late, but it will never be absent.”

Adam said this indifferently, raising his hand, black light surfaced.

“I… I know my mistakes, I am willing to pay the price, I only beg you to spare my life,” Noel fell to his knees, pressing his palms together, eyes brimming with pleading.

Adam stopped, staring intently at Noel, that gaze seemed capable of seeing through the human heart.

Suddenly, a thought emerged in his heart, it was to spare Young Master Noel, his hands could no longer be stained with blood, may his kindness and mercy triumph over his anger.

However, he still said sternly, “The price? Do you think your life can offset the mistakes you’ve committed? I am not bloodthirsty, you must remember that true atonement begins from the bottom of the heart, from now on, if you can let go of your arrogance, sincerely repent, and use your power to help those you have hurt, perhaps I can give you a chance at rebirth.”

Noel was stunned, he had never expected Adam to propose such conditions, to actually spare him, he began nodding frantically.

“I… I understand, from this day forward, I will turn over a new leaf and use practical actions to make up for my mistakes.”

Adam nodded slightly, turning to face the Gavel family disciples, “As for you, I hope you take this as a warning, remember, true power is used to protect, not to oppress, whether the Gavel family can regroup depends entirely on your choices.”

Having said that, Adam turned to leave, but as if remembering something, he stopped, he took out a faintly glowing jade pendant from his clothes and handed it to Morwen.

“Morwen, this jade pendant is a protective talisman I made, I’m giving it to you now, no matter what difficulties you encounter, it can keep you safe.”

“I’m also leaving this place, I’ve stayed here long enough.”

Adam’s mind was made up, it was time to find a new place to live.

Morwen accepted the jade pendant, her eyes slightly red as she looked at Adam with gratitude.

“Thank you, Big Brother Zeon, I will cherish it,” she knew she couldn’t keep Adam here.

Adam smiled faintly and turned to leave, leaving behind the silent Gavel family members, they watched his receding back, hearts filled with mixed feelings, awe for the strong, and confusion and anticipation for the future.

Adam’s heart was exceptionally resolute.

Beside him, the woman in the white dress suddenly appeared.

“Zeon, you did very well, this is the truly kind you.”

“Thank you, I think I know how to deal with the Evil God and break this memory,” the corners of Adam’s mouth curled up.

After Adam left.

At first, Noel indeed did as promised, he restrained his former arrogance and began trying to use his power to help those once oppressed by the Gavel family, he went to the villages, funded poor scholars, repaired farmlands and houses the family had destroyed, and even visited victims’ homes to apologize, attempting to salvage a shred of dignity and the people’s hearts.

But as time slowly passed, Noel grew bored with this kind of life.

The golden autumn wind blew gently, appearing exceptionally silent and bleak, Young Master Noel stood on a high mountain, gazing at the busy villagers in the distance, a trace of imperceptible gloom flashed through his eyes.

In his heart, a flame named unwillingness was quietly burning.

“Why do I have to live this kind of life? I am obviously the young master of the Gavel family, a proud son of heaven,” Young Master Noel roared in his heart, his hands unconsciously clenching into fists, his nails digging deeply into his palms.
