"Feel the world’s pain," the Devourer of Desires’ voice rang out again.

A massive suction force pulled Adam forward, he felt as if he were plummeting into a black hole, the terrifying rotational force left him only able to protect himself, finally, it felt as though he had entered someone’s body.

After a bout of disorientation, Adam looked around in astonishment, where is this? His heart was full of confusion, yet his eyes were seeing from someone else’s perspective.

He realized he had become a teenage boy, standing beneath a dilapidated hut, the setting sun was like an exhausted painter, dyeing the horizon tangerine, yet seemingly lacking the strength to add warmth to this rundown home, the youth’s frail silhouette stretched long in the sunset, making him look exceptionally lonely.

Villagers passed by, some deliberately detoured, as if his existence would soil their clothes, others stopped, cold smiles at the corners of their mouths, eyes full of mockery.

"Oh my, isn’t this our village’s Lord Orphan? Where did you go to pick up trash today?" A sharp voice rang out, it was Aunt Mira, one hand on her hip, the other covering her mouth, as if she had seen the biggest joke in the world.

The surrounding villagers cast gloating glances, some began to snicker.

Leon clenched his fists, fingernails digging into his palms, but he did not raise his head, he silently endured it all.

"Hmph, Aunt Mira, you shouldn’t talk about little Lan like that, after all, he’s a pitiful child without parents," a voice that seemed sympathetic but held hidden ridicule spoke up, it was Kane, shaking his head as he spoke, as if he were such a compassionate person.

"Pitiful? I say he deserves it, who told him to be born an orphan?" Aunt Mira curled her lips disdainfully, as if Leon’s plight was entirely his own doing.

The mocking voices rose and fell like a pack of hungry beasts tearing at Leon’s self-esteem, he felt a bout of suffocation, as if the world were roaring in his ears, but he did not run or talk back, he stood there silently, letting those words pierce him like arrows.

Adam experienced the pain of those words, he felt incredibly irritated.

A gentle breeze brushed past, bringing a hint of coolness and seemingly carrying away some of the clamor, this finally made him feel slightly better.

What was the Evil God up to? Why put him inside this boy’s body? The boy’s emotions were being transmitted entirely to him, was this to make him experience the youth’s past? Adam understood the ploy, it wanted to damage his Dao Heart.
