Chapter 159: Killing the demonized Griffins III

In the sky above the Falkor Valley...

A demonized griffin screeched as it fell at high speeds.

Soon enough, the cloud of smoke started to fade and revealed two figures.

One was a boy while the other was a griffin that had its head buried in the ground.

However, another peculiar thing was the fact that a steel sword was stabbed in the sensitive organ located on the griffin’s back.

More precisely, its butthole.

"I should have thought twice before I stab my sword in its..." Regis said as he scrunched his nose.

Even though he made sure that the demonized griffin would fall headfirst which in itself was already lethal, he wanted to make sure that it would die.

Since its eyes weren’t an option due to obvious reasons, he had to make do with what was available.

Unfortunately, the only other weakness was its butt.

Regis looked away as he pulled his sword from the forbidden area.

At this moment, a question suddenly appeared in his mind, ’Wait, where are the other demonized griffins?’

"So far, I’ve only killed the three that had attacked me..."

Regis then immediately ran to where his companions were, afraid that they were being attacked by the other demonized griffins.

The two of them weren’t able to do anything but look at the peculiar scene before them.

Standing in front of the cave-like entrance to the mountain wall crevice were Aurelia, Pandora, and Alaric.

They were surrounded by more than fifty demonized griffins.

However, what made the situation strange was the fact that they weren’t fighting them.

Instead, they were feeding them.

That’s right, just like how farmers feed their chickens by scattering grains on the ground.

Currently, Aurelia led the other two as they fed the demonized griffins what looked to be brown growing crystals from a pouch.

At this moment, Aurelia noticed Regis and Killian who were standing a few distance away.

"Guys! My pet food won’t last for long! You need to kill them while they’re distracted!"

She shouted nervously.

Regis and Killian glanced at one another, "Pet... food?"

They hurriedly ran towards the three in order to know about the situation.

It turned out that when the demonized griffins attacked them, Aurelia hurriedly rummaged the pockets of her special dress

Once she found the high quality pet feeds she took with her, she immediately approached Pandora and Alaric.

It was then that they hatched a simple but effective plan.

They immediately got to action as Pandora casted Wild Lure, a low rank magic spell that emits a special scent that attracts wild beasts.

Of course, in order to make sure that the monsters would go according to their will, just one magic spell wasn’t enough.

It was then that Alaric formed orbs made of divine power around the area.

It wasn’t a specific holy miracle, just simple manipulation of his mana that had the blessing of divine power.

His goal was only to prevent them from chasing after Regis and Killian.

For the griffins that were already corrupted by the demon power, they would feel disgusted by the orbs and prefer not to go near it despite the fact that they could easily destroy it.

The slight allure of the magic spell and the slight repellent effect of the orbs made the demonized griffins instantly choose to go towards the delicious-smelling food that were scattered on the ground.

Through their combined efforts, they were able to successfully distract the monsters and drastically lighten the pressure on Regis and Kilian.

As Aurelia, Pandora, and Alaric took turns in explaining, Regis and Killian understood how this peculiar situation came to be.

However, there was only one question in Regis’s mind at this moment.

"Why do you have pet food with you?"

Regis didn’t know whether he would believe her or not, but he refrained from asking any further.

"That’s right. After all, they will scatter and attack us from everywhere if we take too long."

Alaric agreed as he took pet food from the pouch and scattered it around.

Regis then asked, "By the way, how long do you think you could keep them distracted?"

"The pet food I have will last for about 10 minutes more. They’re eating them like there’s no tomorrow." Aurelia replied with her brows furrowed.

After a little while, she whispered, "Though it would be better if I could have some left over pet food..."

Of course, she knew that their current predicament didn’t allow her the luxury to complain.

After all, they should be thankful that they were even alive at this point.

The group then proceeded to discuss and plan how they could kill the demonized griffins in the least time possible.

Of course, the three still continued to feed the monsters while doing so.

Their discussion lasted for about four minutes before they were able to come up with a plan.

Regis had thought about using Lux Aeterna to end it all instantly.

However, he refrained from doing so as this was an excellent opportunity for their growth both individually and as a party.

Another reason was the fact that he wanted to challenge himself, ’I must learn not to rely solely on my aura...’

"We should hurry so we can get out of this god-forsaken place already..."

Aurelia whispered under her breath as she thought of all the nights she wasn’t able to sleep in a comfortable bed and all the days she wasn’t able to take a bath.

"I feel you..." Pandora who remained expressionless most of the time also scrunched up her nose.

They then began to move.

Aurelia, Pandora, and Alaric slowly spreaded the pet feed farther from each other.

They did it so that the demonized griffins would be divided into three groups, making it easier for them to execute what they planned.

"Since Aurelia’s group has the most demonized griffins, I’ll be in charge there."

Regis said to which his companions all agreed to.

Soon enough, they were now in position as they brandished their respective weapons.
