The moment Thoren stepped onto the stone ledge, the surface of the black lake suddenly began to move.

At first, the disturbance was barely noticeable. Small ripples spread across the water, breaking the stillness that had dominated the cavern since his arrival.

However, within a few seconds, the ripples grew larger, spreading rapidly toward the surrounding ledge as though something enormous was moving beneath the surface.

Splash!

A sudden wave struck the edge of the lake, sending black water spilling across the stone.

Thoren immediately stopped in his tracks, his eyes narrowing as he stared at the water.

Before he could determine what had caused the disturbance, another wave rose from the depths, followed by a series of violent splashes that echoed throughout the cavern.

The entire lake seemed to come alive.

Dark currents twisted across its surface, colliding with one another as something moved beneath them.

Shadows appeared and disappeared in the murky depths, and the water began churning with increasing violence.

The strange movement spread toward the narrow causeway leading to the island, as though whatever lived beneath the lake had sensed his presence and was preparing to emerge.

Thoren’s expression changed immediately.

"What is happening?" he muttered, his voice carrying a trace of disbelief.

He had only just stepped onto the ledge, yet the lake had reacted as though he had disturbed something that should never have been disturbed.

Before Thoren could understand what was happening, something suddenly emerged from the lake.

’Weepers.’

The name appeared in his mind, and his eyes widened as six grotesque creatures dragged themselves out of the black water.

Each Weeper appeared to be a horrifying fusion of two skeletons, their bodies twisted together into unnatural shapes.

Their elongated arms were thick and unnervingly long, allowing them to support their bodies as they crawled on all fours.

Their skeletal fingers dug into the stone ledge, producing sharp scraping sounds as they pulled themselves completely out of the water.

Black water streamed from their bodies, dripping from their exposed bones and pooling beneath them.

However, what made the creatures particularly disturbing were their tears.

Black tears flowed continuously from their empty eye sockets, running down their skeletal faces before falling onto the stone.

Wherever a tear landed, the surface began to smoke, producing thin wisps of vapor as though the liquid possessed a corrosive property capable of eating through the stone itself.

Thoren stared at the creatures with a grave expression.

The Weeper’s movements were disturbingly fast, their elongated limbs allowing them to crawl across the ground at speeds greater than a running man.

Even more frightening was their strength, which was sufficient to snap a metal object in two with their bare hands.

However, their physical abilities were not the most dangerous aspect of them.

They hunted as a swarm.

The six Weepers spread across the ledge almost immediately after emerging from the lake, their movements coordinated as they advanced toward Thoren from different directions.

Thoren’s expression grew increasingly grave as he realized how quickly the situation had deteriorated.

Looking at the six Weepers rushing toward him, Thoren immediately abandoned his attempt to approach the island and began retreating from the ledge.

’I knew it...’

’Dammit!’ he cursed as he opened his Undead Space, preparing to summon his undead legion before the six Weepers could close the distance.

//

From his Undead Space, the undead vanguard stepped out one after another, their dark auras spreading across the stone ledge as they faced the six Weepers emerging from the black lake.

"Kill!" He commanded quickly.

The undead Storm Tyrant stepped forward and met the advancing Weeper, swinging its massive hammer in a wide arc.

The heavy weapon tore through the air with a deafening whistle, carrying enough force to crush the bones of most creatures in a single strike.

Facing the deadly incoming blow, the front Weeper did not try to dodge or evade.

It merely swung its elongated hand.

Bang!

The elongated arm and the massive hammer collided with tremendous force, sending a violent shockwave across the ledge.

The impact rang through the cavern, and the stones beneath their feet cracked under the pressure.

Despite the enormous weight behind the undead Storm Tyrant’s attack, the Weeper’s arm held firm against the hammer.

The undead Storm Tyrant stumbled backward, its massive frame sliding several feet across the stone before it managed to regain its balance. .

As for the Weeper, it merely retreated by a foot before immediately pouncing on its prey. Its elongated limbs struck the ground in rapid succession, propelling its twisted body forward with frightening speed.

Its black tears scattered through the air as it lunged, threatening to dissolve anything unfortunate enough to come into contact with them.

To the side, the undead Guild Captain reacted swiftly, sweeping its massive broadsword forward to stop the Weeper’s charge. The blade cut through the air with a heavy roar, meeting the weeper before it could reach the undead Storm Tyrant.

Bang!

This time, the Weeper was sent tumbling backward, with a portion of its body shattered into pieces.

Broken ribs and fragments of its elongated limbs scattered across the stone, while its twisted body rolled several times before coming to a halt.

However, the other five Weepers had already pounced on the undead vanguard.

They attacked from different directions, their movements coordinated despite their grotesque forms.

It was a battle between undead versus undead.

The undead vanguard met their attackers with weapons and brute strength.

Every collision produced a deafening bang, and the sounds of cracking bones echoed through the cavern.

Yet, despite their fierce resistance, the Weepers continued pressing forward, their black tears turning the battlefield into a deadly trap where even a single mistake could cost an undead servant its entire body.

Watching the battle, Thoren’s expression was deadly grim.

He had expected the creatures to be dangerous, but witnessing their strength firsthand made his heart sink.

Even after shattering part of their body, the weepers were still attacking with frightening coordination.

He wanted to release more of his undead to join the battle but looking at the black lake. He knew more abomination was still hiding deep in the lake.
