  1. Teacher Wang

"How did you know this is my keychain?"

Teacher Wang paused for a moment before speaking.

She hadn't expected Lin Ye to be so calm, having even prepared his story in advance.

"I saw this keychain on you this morning. My memory is pretty good."

Lin Ye had indeed seen the keychain, back when he was gathering all sorts of information.

"Want to come in and rest for a while? I can help you forget about that dead person."

Teacher Wang undid her collar, revealing her snow-white neck.

"No thanks, I just came to drop off the keys. I still need to get back to studying."

Lin Ye turned and left the Infirmary. This trip hadn't been wasted. This Teacher Wang really was problematic.

The school at night was eerily quiet, not even the sound of insects could be heard. Lin Ye had just reached the hall when he stopped in his tracks. A corpse was laid out in the center of the Teaching Building's hall.

Just an hour ago, Lin Ye had seen this corpse alive. It was the student who had come with Su Yue.

Lin Ye carefully observed the corpse's condition. Perhaps because no one else was around, the corpse didn't immediately disappear.

After about five minutes, the corpse finally faded away, and even the smell of blood in the air vanished.

At that moment, two students walked into the Teaching Building from outside. It was Zhao Jie and another male student.

"A-Ming? What are you doing here?"

Zhao Jie hadn't yet realized what had happened here.

"I just ran into a corpse. It was one of your people."

Lin Ye said quietly.

"...Damn, who was it?"

Zhao Jie had long anticipated this kind of situation.

"It was the tallest student. What are you two here for?"

Lin Ye glanced at the surveillance equipment in the hall. Acting recklessly here was not a good idea. He suspected that student had died in the center of the hall precisely because he'd acted recklessly.

"My grades have been slipping lately. We came for early self-study."

Zhao Jie seemed to realize something and quickly responded.

"Coming to study this early? That's very bad for your health... It seems there were also students running around here earlier."

Teacher Wang walked out from the shadows, speaking offhandedly.

"...It's you?"

Zhao Jie clenched his fists, and the student beside him reached into his backpack.

"Of course it's me. There's no one else in the Teaching Building."

Teacher Wang walked over. She didn't do anything, instead observing them with a scrutinizing gaze.

"Teacher Wang is right. Staying up late is very bad for your health. We should hurry back and rest."

Lin Ye felt that Teacher Wang was trying to provoke them into making a move. She seemed to need a reason to act.

"...Yeah, I am feeling a bit sleepy."

Zhao Jie turned to leave the hall. Just then, the student standing behind him suddenly pulled out a fruit knife and stabbed it toward his lower back.

Lin Ye had seen through the student's intentions the moment he prepared to strike.

Lin Ye's fist slammed into the student's wrist holding the knife, then he grabbed the arm and pinned the student to the ground.

"What is this about?"

Teacher Wang walked over and grabbed the student.

"Probably too much pressure from school, something went wrong in his head. Teacher Wang, I'll leave him to you."

Lin Ye pulled Zhao Jie away from the Teaching Building.

"What a hassle. Did you find anything at the Infirmary?"

Zhao Jie said irritably.

"Teacher Wang is in the Infirmary. I didn't go in, but there were a lot of prohibited drugs inside."

Lin Ye didn't know what those drugs were, but they definitely weren't anything good.

"She seems to have her eyes on us. We'd better think of a way to deal with her first."

Zhao Jie sighed. He'd really wanted to attack directly just now, but thinking of those disappeared students, plus Lin Ye's warning, he could only abandon that tempting idea.

"You'd better not provoke her, or I won't be able to save you."

Lin Ye had roughly guessed the conditions under which Teacher Wang could act. If those conditions weren't met, she could only watch them leave.

"I understand. Where should we go now?"

Zhao Jie wanted to do something else while it was still dark.

"Back to the dorm, obviously. I'm a bit sleepy."

Lin Ye wasn't planning to continue exploring this school. He felt there was something very wrong here.

"...Fine."

Zhao Jie suddenly had a strong premonition that if he left Lin Ye, he would probably die here.

The two returned to the dorm. It was only when they entered the dormitory building that Teacher Wang, who had been following behind them the whole time, finally stopped.

When Lin Ye returned to the dorm, his roommates hadn't gone to sleep yet. One roommate was studying diligently, while the other two were watching a live stream on their phones.

After greeting his roommates, Lin Ye took out the notebook and continued studying the information inside.

Just then, a silhouette silently pressed itself against the window. The figure stared at the notebook in Lin Ye's hands and slowly slid the window open.

"Teacher Wang?!"

The two roommates watching the pretty girl live stream hurriedly put away their phones. They hadn't figured out what was going on.

As for the roommate who had been studying the whole time, he sensed something was wrong. He moved directly toward the dorm exit, trying to escape into the corridor.

Teacher Wang suddenly rushed to the dorm entrance and grabbed that roommate's head.

While Teacher Wang twisted the roommate's neck, Lin Ye jumped out the window.

This was the third floor. Lin Ye used the windowsill to slow his fall and landed safely on the ground.

Teacher Wang didn't chase immediately. She first finished off the living people in the dorm, then jumped out the window.

Lin Ye sprinted toward the Teaching Building, but Teacher Wang was much faster than him and quickly caught up behind him.

"Don't run. I'll do lots of happy things with you!"

Teacher Wang gradually lost her human form. Slender black limbs grew from her body, making her look like a massive multi-legged spider.

'Can't escape after all.'

Lin Ye had long anticipated this outcome. His physical constitution was too poor. There was no way he could dodge Teacher Wang's attacks.

Even if he lured Teacher Wang to another Teaching Building, he could only use other students to delay her a little. There was essentially no difference.

A spider leg nearly pierced through Lin Ye's body. Teacher Wang raised over a dozen spider legs. This time, Lin Ye wouldn't be able to dodge.

Just then, a large group of students poured out from the dormitory, throwing all sorts of clutter at Teacher Wang.

"Teacher Wang really is a monster!"

"Quick, attack those spider legs!"

"This is terrifying!"

"So the rumors about seeing corpses were all true! There's been a monster secretly eating students!"

...

Under Su Yue and the others' direction, the students continuously attacked the Giant Spider's limbs. Although their physical constitutions weren't much stronger than Lin Ye's, they occupied the advantage in numbers. For a moment, Teacher Wang could only dodge their attacks, with no ability to counterattack.

Lin Ye charged straight toward the Teaching Building. Now that Teacher Wang was pinned down on the Sports Field, he could finally search the Infirmary.
