  1. Black Card

"Your injuries are quite troublesome, especially those parasitic flesh masses that are difficult to clean up. Even I had to spend a lot of precious medicine to properly treat your body."

Lin Ye wiped non-existent sweat from his brow and replied with difficulty.

"Fine, since you've completed the commission..."

The man carefully examined his body, and only after confirming there was nothing abnormal did he pay the reward.

[Obtained 5000 Trade Points]

Lin Ye received a system notification.

This was no small amount. It was only in a place like this that Lin Ye could accept commissions with such generous rewards.

The other party's injuries were indeed difficult to treat. Only an expert proficient in both parasitism and flesh-and-blood knowledge at an advanced level could handle his condition.

That was why Lin Ye prioritized this commission. It happened to be right in his wheelhouse.

And 5000 Trade Points weren't Lin Ye's only gains. He'd also acquired some biological samples of the parasitic flesh, which was a very interesting parasitic form in his eyes.

After completing the commission, Lin Ye didn't linger. He left the private room with Scarlatti.

The corridor was completely empty, and the polished black floor reflected the patterns on the ceiling above.

"You need Trade Points badly?"

Scarlatti gently tugged at Lin Ye's sleeve, moving close to his side.

She was so close that Lin Ye could feel the warmth of her breath.

"Not right now, but I might need a large amount of Trade Points in the future."

Lin Ye couldn't be entirely certain about future matters, but no matter what, he would make preparations in advance.

It was better to be safe than sorry.

"Well, I can recommend a method for earning Trade Points. I'm talking about a way to rake in a lot of them."

Scarlatti pulled a black card from her pocket. The card's surface was perfectly smooth, with no markings of any kind.

"What is this?"

Lin Ye took the black card. His mental energy seeped into it, but all he could perceive was boundless darkness.

"This is a basic black card. These black cards have become incredibly popular in Miracle City recently. Each black card represents a different value. A basic black card is worth 10000 Trade Points. Black cards can be fused with each other, and after fusion, the card's value keeps increasing, and it's not just the sum of the two cards' values either. That's why so many people are collecting them. When you leave Miracle City, the black cards will convert into the corresponding Trade Points."

Scarlatti explained the card's function.

"Sounds like some kind of scam to me. Can I ask where the Trade Points come from?"

Lin Ye wasn't afraid that Scarlatti was lying to him. He just thought the whole thing seemed a bit strange.

"I don't know either. All I can guarantee is that I'm not deceiving you. Someone gave me a few black cards and asked me to distribute them to others."

Scarlatti looked at Lin Ye. She genuinely didn't know what this thing was, but based on certain information, she could roughly guess its function. That was why she handed the black card to Lin Ye. She wanted to see what he would do.

"Then I'll take it."

Lin Ye didn't plan to go out of his way hunting for these black cards. He preferred obtaining Trade Points he could actually get his hands on.

Besides, collecting black cards would inevitably cause conflict with the factions here. After all, every card was worth at least 10000 Trade Points, and that was no small sum.

"I hope you can return with a black card of sufficient value."

Scarlatti replied with a smile.

"I just hope I can cash in the Trade Points inside."

Lin Ye selected his next commission and left the Miracle Bar with Scarlatti.

Above the city stretched an ice-blue sky, carrying a hint of chill.

Lin Ye recited the address the client had provided, and Scarlatti pushed open a door.

Across from the door was a somewhat narrow street, with some tourists strolling along it.

"This is the place you were looking for."

Scarlatti gestured toward a two-story building on one side of the street.

From the outside, it looked like a very ordinary general store, with a faded blue poster plastered on the exterior wall.

Lin Ye pulled open the general store's door and stepped inside.

"Is the difference between the inside and outside of buildings in this city always this drastic?"

Lin Ye stood on the surface of a planet. It was a planet with no atmosphere, the ground beneath him was barren and pale, and the empty universe could be observed directly.

"Welcome to the Cosmic Observation Station. I'm the supervisor here."

A woman wearing a spacesuit appeared beside them, speaking with a smile.

"You want me to repair the spiritual energy devices here? I'm guessing these aren't ordinary spiritual energy devices, right?"

Ordinary spiritual energy devices wouldn't be worth that price.

"It's not exactly a repair. I want you to add some new functions to this place."

The supervisor took out a structural blueprint and handed it to Lin Ye.

"...Are you looking for a renovation contractor or something?"

Lin Ye glanced at the blueprint. It was the structural diagram of the planet beneath their feet, with many new constructions marked on it. This wasn't a repair at all, it was decorating a bare-bones shell.

"I've already prepared all the materials. You can take whatever's left over. Once the repair is complete, I'll pay you 10000 Trade Points."

The supervisor handed Lin Ye a large-capacity spatial item.

"...I mean, it's not impossible, but to get this done, I'll need to expand my mental energy usage range. Otherwise, there's no way I can finish this in just a few months."

Inside Miracle City, Lin Ye could only use his mental energy within a limited range.

"That's not a problem. I can communicate with Miracle City to temporarily lift the restriction here. However, it's limited to within this building only."

The supervisor had already prepared for the modifications.

"Then let's get started."

Lin Ye took out some high-grade flesh-and-blood materials from the spatial item and began deploying his Parasitism Network.

If this were the old Lin Ye, deploying a Parasitism Network in a place with no living creatures would have consumed a massive amount of mental energy. But after fusing with that flower, his mental energy had been growing at a tremendous rate, and his efficiency in using it had improved dramatically as well.

Combined with that Miracle drink, he could now independently deploy a Parasitism Network covering the entire planet.

And the supervisor had prepared some high-efficiency Spirit Potions for him, so he didn't need to worry about mental energy consumption at all.

Using the Parasitism Network, Lin Ye could rapidly process large quantities of spiritual energy materials and turn them into components for massive spiritual energy constructs.

The blueprint marked detailed information for each spiritual energy construct. All he had to do was follow the blueprint and print them out.

Just like printing spiritual energy cards.

The Parasitism Network would handle all the simpler steps for him.

"What is that? A spiral meat tower?"

Scarlatti lounged on a lounge chair, gazing up at the profound universe overhead, while nearby Giant Flesh-and-Blood Creatures were producing various industrial components.

"That's a conch without its shell."

Lin Ye leaned back on the lounge chair beside her. Two glasses of black drinks with ice sat on the table between them.
