Chapter 295: Chapter 236: Scout

The team’s scouts quickly moved out to reconnoiter the surroundings. They discovered traces of mutated creatures, but through agile evasion and clever tactics, they successfully avoided a direct conflict.

"We’ve reached the mutated creatures’ active zone," Zhou Mei reported to the team over the radio. "Get ready to set the traps."

The team members quickly got to work. Using the tools and materials they carried, they set various traps along the paths the mutated creatures were likely to take. Some traps used sharp barbs, while others utilized powerful springs. Each was designed to effectively capture or eliminate the mutated creatures.

"The traps are set," a scout reported. "What do we do now?"

"We need to spread out and lure the mutated creatures into the trapped area," Leo commanded. "Remember, don’t confront them head-on. Our goal is to use the traps to eliminate them."

As night fell, the hunting party began their operation. They split into several small groups, each responsible for one area. Using the cover of darkness, they silently approached the mutated creatures’ nest.

"Be advised, a mutated creature is approaching," Zhou Mei whispered into the radio. "Everyone, prepare."

The team members held their breath, their eyes locked on the area ahead. Soon, a giant mutated creature appeared in their sights. Its body was enormous, its skin was as hard as iron, and its eyes flashed with a vicious light.

"Fire!" At Leo’s command, the team members opened fire in unison.

The new hunting weapons emitted a low HUM as beams of nearly invisible electromagnetic waves shot toward the mutated creature. The creature’s movements immediately became sluggish, and its body began to tremble, clearly affected by the electromagnetic interference.

"This is our chance! Keep attacking!" Leo shouted.

The team members quickly repositioned, using the terrain to their advantage to launch a relentless assault. Upon impact, the special ammunition rapidly dispersed, destroying the creature’s circulatory system.

The mutated creature let out a deafening roar. It tried to fight back, but its movements had become clumsy. The members of the hunting party responded calmly, using the tactics they had learned in training to steadily wear down the creature’s strength.

The battle lasted for several minutes. The mutated creature’s roars gradually weakened, and its movements grew slower and slower. Finally, under the hunting party’s precise strikes, the mutated creature fell to the ground and moved no more.

"We did it!" a young Warrior in the team shouted excitedly.

Zhou Mei let out a sigh of relief. She walked over to check on the mutated creature, confirming that it showed no signs of life.

"Good job, everyone," Zhou Mei said, turning to the team. "But we can’t let our guard down. The wasteland is full of other dangers. Our mission is complete. Let’s take the spoils of our victory and return to the shelter."

The team members cheered, their eyes gleaming with triumph. They knew this victory wasn’t just due to their bravery and skill, but because they had stood united to face the challenge.

On the way back, the team members shared their experiences and the lessons from the battle, knowing this would become a valuable asset to them. Back at the shelter, the residents were already awaiting their triumphant return.

When the hunting party returned to the shelter, they received a hero’s welcome. Their success not only brought safety to the shelter but also gave the residents hope and confidence.

Zhou Mei and Leo stood on a high point in the shelter, gazing out at the land they had defended with their sweat and intellect. Their hearts swelled with emotion. They knew that as long as they stood united, no hardship was insurmountable.

"Alright everyone, we’re about to start the trade," Bena reminded the team. "Stay alert and stick to the plan."

The first team communicated with the representatives from Oasis Shelter. They presented samples of their clean water source and explained its benefits in detail.

"Your water source is incredibly pure. It’s exactly what we need," the Oasis Shelter representative said. "We’re willing to trade our medical supplies for it."

The second team made a deal with the representatives from the Steel Fortress. They demonstrated a model of a high-efficiency energy converter and explained how it worked.

"This energy converter is exactly the kind of technology we need," the representative from the Steel Fortress stated. "We’re willing to trade our weapons and defensive gear for it."

The specialty goods prepared by the third team also earned the approval of the other shelter representatives. They traded these goods for food, tools, and other essential supplies.

Under Bena’s command, the trading proceeded very smoothly. Each team followed the plan, ensuring all transactions were fair and secure.

Once the trades were complete, Bena led the team on their journey home. They returned with a wealth of gains, their hearts filled with a sense of accomplishment and hope.

When they returned to the shelter, they received a hero’s welcome. Their success not only brought precious resources to the shelter but also gave the residents hope and confidence.

Bena stood on a high point in the shelter, gazing out at the land they had defended with their sweat and intellect. His heart swelled with emotion. He knew that as long as they stood united, no hardship was insurmountable.

"Alright everyone, we’re about to start the trade," Bena reminded the team. "Stay alert and stick to the plan."
