Chapter 294: Chapter 235: Clearing Threats (Part 2)

[Mission Reward: Blue-Grade Components x50]

Ye Yun examined the new missions. ’I understand how important each of these is to the shelter,’ he thought.

He immediately summoned Lin Hao, Zhou Mei, Leo, and Bena to discuss how to assign the tasks and ensure each one would be carried out effectively, guaranteeing the shelter’s safety and growth.

"Bena, the first new mission—expanding the shelter—will require your organizational skills," Ye Yun said. "We need you to lead the expansion work and make sure the shelter can accommodate more residents and resources."

Bena nodded seriously. "I’ll organize the engineering team at once, draw up the expansion plans, and ensure the work is completed on schedule."

Ye Yun turned to Zhou Mei and Leo. "The second new mission—eliminating threats—is crucial for the shelter’s security. You two will be in charge of organizing hunting parties to clear out the nearby mutated creatures."

Zhou Mei and Leo indicated they understood and promised, "We’ll organize the hunting parties and create a detailed plan to secure the area around the shelter."

Finally, Ye Yun looked at Lin Hao.

"The third new mission—exploring the unknown—requires your expertise. We need you to lead the exploration team to find and utilize resources deep in the wasteland."

Lin Hao replied firmly, "I will organize an exploration team, prepare the necessary equipment and supplies, and ensure we can safely explore the unknown regions and bring back valuable discoveries."

Following Ye Yun’s arrangements, the three teams began their respective missions. Each group understood their responsibilities and prepared to contribute to the shelter’s future.

With the missions assigned, the shelter’s residents sprang into action, everyone working hard toward a common goal.

Bena stood at the edge of the shelter, looking out at a barren patch of land. In his mind, however, it was already transforming into a vibrant new area. He turned to the engineering team behind him, their eyes filled with anticipation and resolve.

"Everyone, our mission is to build a new home on this land," Bena’s voice was firm and powerful. "We need new residential areas, warehouses, and defensive structures to ensure our shelter can house more people and become even safer."

An engineer, Xiaoli, raised his hand. "Bena, how should we plan the layout for these new buildings? What factors do we need to consider?"

"We need to consider residential comfort, warehouse accessibility, and defensive reliability," Bena said, pointing to a blueprint. "The residential area should be near the water source and farmland, the warehouses should be in a location with easy access, and the defensive structures must cover all possible invasion routes."

"We also need to make sure all the buildings can withstand the wasteland’s extreme weather," added another engineer, Xiaowang. "We should use the sturdiest materials and design a proper drainage system."

Bena nodded. "Excellent point, Xiaowang. We also need to factor in the power supply. The new residential areas and warehouses will need electricity and water, so we have to plan the utility lines."

As the discussion deepened, the members of the engineering team divided the labor. The designers began drafting detailed architectural drawings, while the engineers started calculating the required materials and equipment.

"Bena, our preliminary design is complete," said Xiaozhang, a designer, walking over with a rolled-up blueprint. "We’ve designed a new type of residential module. It’s not only space-efficient but also easy to build and maintain."

Bena studied the blueprint carefully. "Very good, Xiaozhang. We need to start construction as soon as possible. Xiaoli, you’re in charge of organizing the construction crew. Make sure all building materials and equipment are ready."

"Yes, Bena," Xiaoli replied. "I’ve already contacted the suppliers. They’ll deliver the first batch of materials tomorrow morning."

As the sun rose, the engineering team began the intense but orderly construction work. Excavators and bulldozers moved across the land while workers, under their direction, laid foundations and installed structural frames.

"Everyone, be mindful of safety. We can’t afford any carelessness," Bena reminded everyone at the construction site. "Every single brick and tile is tied to the future of our shelter."

A few days later, the new residential area began to take shape. Rows of sturdy houses rose from the ground, their designs both practical and aesthetically pleasing, promising a comfortable living environment for the residents.

"Bena, construction of the residential area is moving faster than expected," Xiaoli reported during a progress meeting. "At this rate, we’ll finish all the houses soon."

Bena nodded. "Good, Xiaoli. But we can’t let up yet. We need to ensure every detail meets our standards. At the same time, we need to start on the warehouses and defensive structures."

Under Bena’s supervision, the construction of the warehouses and defensive facilities also began swiftly. The warehouses used an efficient storage system to ensure the safety and easy management of supplies. The defenses included high walls, watchtowers, and automated defense systems, forming a solid line of protection for the shelter.

As time went on, the shelter’s expansion work gradually neared completion. The new residential areas, warehouses, and defensive structures were all finished, providing a solid foundation for the shelter’s future development.

"Bena, our expansion work is complete," Xiaoli said at the final inspection meeting. "All the buildings have undergone rigorous checks, and they all meet our design specifications and safety standards."

Bena smiled and nodded. "This is the result of our team’s hard work, Xiaoli. Every one of you did an outstanding job. Now, we can show our residents what we’ve accomplished."

At a shelter-wide assembly, Bena presented the expanded shelter to everyone. The residents marveled at the scale and design of the new construction, expressing their heartfelt gratitude for the engineering team’s efforts.

"This is the result of our collective effort," Bena announced at the assembly. "Our shelter is now stronger, and our home is a better place. We will continue to press forward and create more possibilities for our future."

Zhou Mei and Leo stood in the shelter’s command center. A map lay unfurled before them, marked with areas where mutated creatures frequently appeared. Their gazes were firm, ready for the challenge ahead.

"Leo, look here." Zhou Mei pointed to a red dot on the map. "This is the most active area for mutated creatures. We need to monitor it closely."

Leo leaned in for a closer look and nodded. "This spot is definitely key, but we have to be careful. The movement patterns of these creatures are hard to predict."

"I’ve already selected our most capable team members. We’ll be ready for anything," Zhou Mei said, full of confidence.

"Then let’s head out. Time is of the essence." Leo clapped Zhou Mei on the shoulder.

The team they led consisted of ten experienced Warriors, each with their own specializations and skills. Before setting out, Zhou Mei and Leo gathered the squad for a final briefing.

"We’re about to embark on a journey filled with unknowns and dangers," Zhou Mei’s voice was resolute. "Our objective is to eliminate the mutated creatures that threaten the shelter. Remember, we aren’t just fighting for ourselves, but for our home and our future. Stay alert, support each other, and I’m confident we can overcome any obstacle."

The team members nodded in understanding, their eyes showing resolve and determination. Afterward, they checked their gear, making sure the new hunting weapons were ready.

"Attention, there may be mutated creatures ahead," Leo warned the team. "Everyone, stay alert and be ready to engage at any moment."
