Chapter 113: Chapter 112: Personnel Arrangement

Lanton and Sara hesitated at the request.

They were both experienced Warriors and knew that in the Wasteland World, a weapon was like a second life.

Handing over their weapons meant losing the ability to protect themselves.

Bena saw their concern and spoke gently.

"You don’t need to worry. This is just a temporary measure."

"Once we’re at the shelter and have confirmed your identities and loyalty, we’ll return your weapons and provide you with new equipment."

Bena certainly wasn’t going to provoke them at a time like this, so his tone was very gentle.

Lanton and Sara exchanged a glance. They knew that under the circumstances, putting down their weapons was the only option.

They didn’t hesitate for long, because they knew that even with weapons, they were no match for the people before them.

Lanton nodded, signifying his agreement. "All right, we’ll hand over our weapons."

Lanton slowly undid his weapon belt and placed his pistol and dagger on the ground. Sara followed suit.

Seeing this, the other three bionics, though hesitant, also followed their example and put down their weapons.

Bena gave them a respectful nod.

He motioned for the team members behind him to come forward and carefully gather the weapons, making sure nothing went wrong.

"We will keep your weapons safe until you become one of us," Bena promised.

Although Lanton and Sara still felt uneasy, seeing Bena’s sincerity and professionalism, they began to lower their guard.

Although he wasn’t yet certain if this group was safe, Bena had already confiscated their weapons. To show his sincerity, he didn’t have them tied up.

Lanton’s group was cooperative, walking obediently beside the team. They didn’t get too close, nor did they dare to fall too far behind, maintaining a comfortable distance.

They soon returned to Ryze’s shelter. After carrying out the decapitation strike, Bena hadn’t yet collected the useful supplies inside.

Only after they finished gathering everything useful did Bena lead the group back to their own shelter.

...

Lanton and Sara arrived at the shelter.

As they did, a system prompt popped up.

[New recruitable members have appeared in your shelter.]

[Lanton]

[Sara]

Ye Yun carefully sized the two of them up.

Lanton was a powerfully built young man with well-defined muscles and healthy, bronze-colored skin.

He was even a little taller than Bena, likely over 1.85 meters.

’He’s incredibly handsome. On Blue Star, he could have been a celebrity.’

’And not one of those pretty boys, but the rugged, iron-jawed tough guy type.’

Sara, on the other hand, was a tall woman. She had long golden hair, usually tied back in a ponytail for combat.

Her skin was a common wheat-color, but her eyes were what was truly special: her pupils were a striking, demonic red.

But her face, which was at odds with her striking eyes, was rather plain and unremarkable—the type of person who would instantly disappear in a crowd.

Ye Yun accepted without hesitation. Sub-base No. 2 was short on people, and these two were a timely arrival.

As for their relationship, it was simple. Just like Bena and Lina, they were cousins.

"I am the administrator of this shelter. My name is Ye Yun. My shelter is currently short-handed. If you’re willing to follow my orders, I will allow you to join."

Hearing Ye Yun’s words, the two replied at once, their voices loud and clear:

"We are! Of course we’re willing to follow your orders, Administrator Ye Yun."

Ye Yun opened the member list.

Charisma: 4

Intelligence: 5

Agility: 5

Luck: 4

Radiation Level: 12%

Satiety: 45/100

Hydration: 66/100

Loyalty: 50

Seeing that both of their Loyalty scores were only 50, Ye Yun raised an eyebrow.

If a shelter member’s Loyalty drops below 60, they might start disobeying his orders.

If it drops below 50, they are very likely to defect at any time.

Ye Yun stroked his chin, quickly figuring out the reason.

’It’s most likely because I killed Ryze directly, causing them to lose their shelter.’

’They didn’t join voluntarily; they were essentially captured. This wasn’t a normal recruitment, so it’s understandable that their Loyalty is only 50.’

Ye Yun wasn’t too worried about it. He just needed to raise their Loyalty scores as quickly as possible.

Sara’s overall stats were on the low side, but Lanton’s were pretty good.

Overall, the two were just average, but the shelter was in dire need of people, so this was no time to be picky.

Besides, low stats were a temporary problem. The shelter’s training room was already built.

With enough time, he could have the shelter members raise their stats through training.

Since they had just joined and their Loyalty was only 50, there was a risk they could defect at any moment.

Ye Yun immediately resorted to the power of gift-giving.

He quickly purchased two new sets of blue-grade equipment from the shelter, tailored to their stats.

Joy appeared on their faces as the equipment was placed in their hands.

As mercenaries who made their living in the wasteland, they always felt uneasy without a weapon in hand.

Getting their weapons back meant the shelter’s administrator already had some trust in them. Otherwise, he never would have armed them so quickly.

The two exchanged a look and spoke in unison:

"Thank you, Administrator."

"Thank you, Administrator."

[Lanton’s Loyalty increased by 10. Current Loyalty: 60]

[Sara’s Loyalty increased by 12. Current Loyalty: 62]

’Good. Their Loyalty is past the safety threshold now.’

’A Loyalty of 60 isn’t exactly stable, but it’s good enough for now.’

With two more humans in the shelter, Ye Yun needed to reconsider personnel assignments.

The main shelter currently had a maximum capacity of three humans.

This meant the main base was at full capacity, and there was no way for Lanton and Sara to be stationed there.

After a moment’s thought, Ye Yun made his decision.

He quickly had everyone in the base assemble in the main hall.

"The main base’s population capacity is at its limit."

"Lina, you and Sara will be temporarily assigned to live and work at Sub-base No. 2."

"The base is currently in a state of low activity, so we won’t be sending out exploration teams from there. You can live there peacefully."

"There’s no rush. We’ll send you over after Bena and his team have had a chance to rest."

"Lanton, you’ll stay here at the main base and join Bena’s team for field missions."

Neither of them objected. After all, they didn’t have any other choice.
