Global Lords: The Undead's Mobile Fortress
Chapter 480: Tribe Ruins
After studying it for a moment, Guli Geli finally determined the direction. She pointed and said to Li Ziyu, “That way. I know there’s a powerful Tribe over there. I heard they have a Void Crystal.”
Li Ziyu glanced in the direction Guli Geli pointed and nodded. ‘Since I don’t know where to go anyway, I might as well head in the direction she gave.’
The Undead Fortress changed course, proceeding in the direction Guli Geli had indicated.
Li Ziyu didn’t need to worry about such matters. He looked at Guli Geli again and asked, “Tell me about that Tribe.”
“Oh, it’s a Tribe made up of powerful individuals. There are people from many different Races in it. The strongest among them is from the Earth Cavern Spider Woman Race, and she’s also their Chieftain…”
As Guli Geli spoke, the Undead Fortress gradually picked up speed.
Guided by the Compass and traveling across the grasslands, the Undead Fortress moved in a mostly straight line. It encountered no trouble along the way, continuing on like this until noon.
After a whole morning of travel, Li Ziyu had grown tired of looking at the grasslands. He seemed a little listless as he yawned and asked Guli Geli, “Are we there yet? Is that Tribe really this far away?”
Guli Geli gazed into the distance, her brow furrowing. A vague sense of foreboding rose in her heart. “Master, something’s not right. Something might have happened.”
Tribes are territorial, especially powerful ones like this. They deploy various scouting tools within their lands to prevent other Tribes and Void Creatures from sneaking in.
According to Guli Geli’s memory, they had already entered the territory of the spider woman’s Tribe. Yet, there was no sign of activity from them. To say they hadn’t been spotted would be self-deception. The Undead Fortress was enormous, and Li Ziyu had no intention of hiding it. They were charging straight ahead brazenly; it would be a miracle if the other party hadn’t noticed them.
But there was no reaction!
This was strange. They should have at least sent someone to investigate, but there was truly nothing. The Undead had detected no signs of life.
Li Ziyu had the Undead Fortress slow down. At the same time, he ordered the Evil Spirit Wanderers to heighten their alert and continue advancing toward the Tribe’s location.
After another half an hour, they finally saw the Tribe Guli Geli had spoken of—or rather, its ruins.
Everything here had been destroyed. Houses had collapsed, tents were torn to shreds, and all sorts of miscellaneous items were scattered about.
After sending the Evil Spirit Wanderers to scout the area and finding no signs of life, Li Ziyu finally emerged from the Undead Fortress with Guli Geli and a large group of Undead, arriving at the ruins of the Tribe.
“Tsk, tsk, looks like a huge battle happened here.” Li Ziyu clicked his tongue as he walked through the destroyed Tribe. He occasionally crouched down, spotting bloodstains on items and on the ground.
A battle had taken place here, and the powerful spider woman’s Tribe that Guli Geli had described was, in all likelihood, the loser.
Guli Geli moved much faster than Li Ziyu. She darted back and forth through the ruins of the Tribe, constantly investigating, before finally returning to Li Ziyu’s side with a grave expression.
“What’s wrong?” Seeing her strange expression, Li Ziyu asked casually.
“This wasn’t a fight between Tribes. Void Creatures destroyed this place. Void Creatures have come out of the forest. Master, we should leave here at once,” Guli Geli said, her brows tightly knit.
“Are you sure?” Li Ziyu’s expression changed as well. ‘Void Creatures are no easy foe.’
“I’m sure. A conflict between Tribes wouldn’t leave so much behind. Many useful things are still here. It definitely wasn’t a battle between Tribes. I saw gnaw marks. The bodies here must have been eaten by Void Creatures,” Guli Geli analyzed seriously.
She had experienced an attack by Void Creatures and survived, so she was naturally very familiar with all of this.
Bringing Li Ziyu to a Tribe to establish his dominance was one thing, but encountering a Void Beast Tide or a Void Insect Tide would be a huge problem.
She could roughly estimate when the Tribe was wiped out, but she didn’t know how far the Void Creatures had gone. What if they suddenly turned back?
“Okay, I’ll listen to you. We’ll leave now. By the way, can we look for the Void Crystal?” Li Ziyu asked while nodding.
