This time, Guli Geli didn’t stand on ceremony. She pulled the plate in front of her, eagerly grabbed a slice of roasted meat, and shoved it straight into her mouth. The moment the seasoned, fragrant meat touched her tongue, her eyes lit up. Even though she hissed from the heat, she refused to spit it out.

As someone who had always been a lone wanderer, Guli Geli rarely had the chance for a peaceful meal of meat, let alone something like this. For her, this seasoned roast meat was the most delicious food in the world.

She focused all her attention on the roasted meat. With every bite, her pupils would constrict, and a blissful smile would spread across her face. She would swallow the meat in just a few chews before quickly stuffing another piece into her mouth. Then her pupils would constrict again. She repeated this cycle, thoroughly enjoying herself.

Li Ziyu watched Guli Geli’s reaction with an amused expression. He silently grilled the meat, placing the cooked slices onto her plate. It felt just like feeding a cat. ‘Hmm, it’s not *like* feeding a cat,’ he mused. ‘This one right in front of me *is* a big cat, one so happy her tail is starting to wag.’

Glancing at the meat skewers propped up by the fire pit, Li Ziyu grabbed a few and offered them to her. Guli Geli accepted them all without hesitation, taking them and immediately starting to eat.

Li Ziyu kept passing roasted meat, skewers, fruit, and vegetables to Guli Geli. He only started to eat himself when he saw her pace begin to slow. As they ate, he began to ask her for intelligence on the Void Land.

Even though Guli Geli’s pace had slowed, she didn’t stop eating. She answered Li Ziyu’s questions earnestly between bites, sharing everything she knew about the Void Land with him.

As a lone wanderer, Guli Geli had traveled far and wide across the Void Land over the years, always searching for a place to call home. She had visited many Tribes, and while the intelligence she possessed wasn’t always precise, she certainly knew more than those who spent their whole lives in one.

Guli Geli herself didn’t know what information might be useful. In any case, she held nothing back from Li Ziyu. Whatever he asked, she told him everything she knew. As for what was true, what was false, what was useful, and what was not—that was beyond her. Li Ziyu would have to figure that out for himself.

The more Li Ziyu asked, the more astonished he became. From what Guli Geli told him, he realized the Void Land was a true treasure trove. In addition to an abundance of basic materials, it also held many he had never even heard of, most of which were related to the Void.

He could not miss out on a treasure trove like this. The Void Crystal, which would allow free passage to and from the Void Land, was something he absolutely had to obtain.

After the two had eaten and drunk their fill, Li Ziyu suddenly remembered the three Apes. He smacked his forehead. ‘Damn, I got so caught up chatting with the Leopard Woman I completely forgot about those three.’

Most of what Guli Geli knew was hearsay she’d picked up from various Tribes; much of it was vague and unspecific. But the three Apes were a different story. They were bona fide members of the Ape Race. They were bound to know a great deal, and their information would be far more credible.

Li Ziyu told Guli Geli to go and familiarize herself with the Great Tomb; he was going to see the three Apes. Thanks to the Soul Contract, the Undead within the Great Tomb would see her as one of their own and wouldn’t attack. Guli Geli looked thrilled and immediately ran off, equally eager to explore the Great Tomb.

‘Those three must be hungry by now,’ Li Ziyu thought. He gathered the leftover roasted meat, fruit, and vegetables. Thankfully, he’d made plenty. He rearranged the food on a large platter, had one of the Undead carry it, and then headed for the room where the three Apes were being held.

“So hungry… AHHHHH!” Jieshi Black Ridge was rubbing his stomach, only halfway through his complaint when a Human and a group of Skeletons abruptly appeared in front of him. The sight made him shriek in terror.

His shriek instantly woke the sleeping Gangben Black Ridge and Du Lei Black Ridge. The two Apes leaped to their feet and scanned their surroundings warily. Then they saw Li Ziyu. Just as the two Apes were about to speak, their noses twitched. A rich aroma wafted into their nostrils, and whatever they had been about to say was instantly forgotten. Their eyes locked onto the food held by the Undead.

After a full day of hunger, the aroma of roasted meat was almost impossible to resist. Their mouths began to water uncontrollably.

“Are you hung—” Seeing the state the two Apes were in, Li Ziyu began to speak but cut himself off. His brow furrowed sharply, and he said no more.

Intruders detected…

A message had come through the Soul Network—an alert from an Evil Spirit Wanderer on patrol nearby.

With no time to think, Li Ziyu instantly connected to the “eyes” of the Great Tomb and looked toward the source of the alert. In the eyes of Gangben Black Ridge and the other Apes, it simply looked as if he had zoned out mid-sentence.

The three Apes stared, speechless, at the vacant-eyed Li Ziyu. Their gazes shifted back and forth between the food in the Skeleton Undead’s hands and Li Ziyu himself. They had no clue what was going on, but man, that roasted meat smelled incredible!

Du Lei Black Ridge shot the other two a look. ‘He’s not saying anything. Should we just grab the food first?’ Jieshi Black Ridge’s expression screamed back, ‘Yes! Let’s do it!’ Gangben Black Ridge, however, shut them down with a fierce glare. ‘Grab my ass! Settle down. Humans are all cunning. What if it’s a trap?’ Du Lei Black Ridge and Jieshi Black Ridge thought about it. Hmm, Gangben Black Ridge had a point. But that roasted meat just smelled so good.

Li Ziyu, using the Great Tomb’s senses, got a clear look at the intruders reported by the Evil Spirit Wanderer. There were a dozen or so Apes, the same kind as Gangben Black Ridge. However, these newcomers were more powerfully built than the three captives. Their Armor provided more coverage and was visibly thicker. They were clearly the proper Warriors of the Ape Race.
