Global Lords: The Undead's Mobile Fortress
Chapter 366 184: Death Breath Crystal
Li Ziyu smiled again. He squatted down and activated the Soul Coffin, taking out the Death Breath Crystals.
It was easy to understand how the Soul Coffin could produce Death Breath Crystals. After all, millions of Wandering Souls lived within it. As they came and went, some of their death breath would inevitably leak out. Clearly, the Soul Coffin had been collecting this stray energy and condensing it into Death Breath Crystals.
After gathering all the Death Breath Crystals, Li Ziyu was surprised to find he had over four thousand of them!
'That's enough!'
Now, only one material remained: Soul Crystals!
The four Fox Maidens had never seen Soul Crystals either and didn't know where to find them. However, they promised to help Li Ziyu by asking the other Ghosts if any of them had any leads.
The materials for upgrading the Fortress were almost all gathered in the blink of an eye, which put Li Ziyu in a fantastic mood.
...
「Five days flew by in a flash.」
The Main City Level building—the Great Tomb—was finally complete!
Li Ziyu walked out of the main fortress tower, looking excitedly toward the tall, brand-new structure.
The Great Tomb was a massive structure. Not only did it have a vast footprint, but it was also even taller than the main tower. It had the appearance of a pitch-black pyramid. Upon closer inspection, each brick was half a meter tall and made entirely of condensed bone. Carved onto the bricks were strange patterns, symbols, and arcane runes, filling the structure with an air of mystery.
At the apex of the Great Tomb floated a gemstone resembling an eye. The gem itself was blue and radiated waves of energy, but its central "pupil" was green, like a cat's eye. The gemstone rotated slowly, as if it were an eye surveying its surroundings.
'It's magnificent, but... that's it?'
Li Ziyu circled the Great Tomb, scratching his head. It seemed a little too plain. Sure, it was magnificent, but for a Main City Level building that had consumed so many resources, this was a bit underwhelming. It just felt... ordinary.
'I wonder if I can go inside and take a look.' Just as the thought crossed his mind, the black bricks before him began to grind against one another. With a KAKA KAKA sound, they shifted automatically, revealing a doorway.
'Well now, that's pretty magical.'
The scene before him reminded Li Ziyu of a movie from his past life: the shifting wall that served as the entrance to Diagon Alley in *Harry Potter*.
'You couldn't even call them similar. They were exactly the same.'
The passageway before him was pitch-black and exuded an ominous aura, but Li Ziyu felt no fear.
'Are you kidding me? I'm the one who built the Great Tomb. It's my building. How could I possibly die in here?'
He strode into the darkness. Once he was completely inside, the bricks made another KAKA KAKA sound as they slid back into their original positions. The fit was seamless; the doorway had vanished.
The noise behind him made Li Ziyu glance back, just as he was plunged into a darkness so absolute he couldn't see his hand in front of his face.
'This is ridiculous,' he thought. 'I can't see a thing. How am I supposed to walk if I can't even see the path?'
A ball of ethereal blue fire suddenly flared to life in midair. Soon, more and more flames ignited, bathing the area in bright light.
Only then did Li Ziyu realize he was in a wide passageway. He looked around curiously. The walls on both sides were composed of countless skulls, and the blue flames were their Soul Fires. They just burned much more intensely than the Soul Fire of a normal Skeleton Undead.
The skulls with lit Soul Fires were only in his immediate vicinity. Farther down the passage, it was still pitch-black.
'Worthy of the name Great Tomb,' he mused. 'It's just like a catacomb or a Bone Storage Hall. Now this has the right vibe.'
After dealing with Skeleton Undead for so long, Li Ziyu was completely unfazed by skulls and the like. Utterly unperturbed, he started walking down the passageway.
As he moved, the Soul Fires lit up one after another, like voice-activated lights, illuminating the path ahead.
After about a dozen meters, massive, several-meter-tall statues appeared on both sides of the passageway.
Li Ziyu tilted his head back to examine them. The first two statues were of a Skeleton Undead and a Basic Skeleton Warrior. Farther ahead were an Intermediate Skeleton Warrior and a High Level Skeleton Warrior. After that, all sorts of other soldier types appeared. Li Ziyu had never seen most of them, but every unit he had developed so far was represented among the statues.
